Standard rifle of the British Army, the L85A1 or the SA80.
The L85A1 is a bullpup version of Eugene Stoner's AR-18 design,
meaning the magazine is placed behind the pistol grip.
The bullpup type rifle has a receiver built into the shoulder stock
to present the rifle with the shortest overall length as possible.
This compact design has many merits and it is easy to see
why it is becoming one of the trends in modern assault rifle design.
The L85 is cherished by British squaddies who have no access to any other firearm except for it.
This one must be CGI because it still hasn't jammed.
I mean, you cannot miss it. It's a symbol of the UK Army.
But yeah, I remembered seeing them when we went to the RAF base as I was a boy,
seeing on a field trip with school.
And I remembered when I was riding on the double-deckered bus,
I would always get onto the top of the bus,
onto the side that I would see into the British base as we passed along
to see if I could see any soldiers carrying the L85A1s.
And yeah, that's what I think of.
That's what I think of when I see the L85A1.
It's my childhood.
1-6, still I-2, 1-Victor, 2-Fax, recon 1, over.
