hey there i'm jen hudak co-founder of
escapod trailers we are out here at
overland expo west in flagstaff arizona
and are so excited to finally have a top
02 here for in-person viewing with a
finished interior in the cabin as well
as the galley we're gonna go ahead and
give you a little walk through of this
trailer today one of the main key
features of this trailer
and certainly something that
distinguishes itself from the original
topo is the single piece fiberglass
shell we were able to reduce the weight
of our trailer while increasing the
overall size we could bring the body
over the wheel well about six inches
increasing the interior cabin by about a
foot making a really spacious interior
cabin you can also see a two and a half
foot by five foot star gazer window that
we have in there that also allowed us to
increase the interior width without
increasing the overall width of the
trailer so space between the outside of
one wheel to the other is the same as
our original toppo at seven feet nice
compact still fits behind the vehicle
nicely and in your garage we'll take a
look at the cabin and then circle back
around we also have designed our own
doors here and one of the things we are
most excited about
silly little detail is what we're
calling the mud room so on either side
here we have about a five inch space
where you can store your shoes as you're
getting into the trailer you can hang a
bulky jacket
if you're
wet from the rain it's all going to be
nested inside of hdpe so this is really
weather and weather and element
resistant inside the cabin we still have
really great cabinet storage space in
here as well as that
middle
nesting
cabinet face so this drops down you can
put a computer here wait out a storm we
also have a lot of our controllers so
the solar controller master power switch
the thermostat for the truma combi unit
that provides forced air heat into the
cabin as well as on-demand hot water
over here we have your switches for
interior lights powering on the inverter
your exterior porch lights as well as
your rock rail light so under mount
lights that will just give you a little
ground lighting the cymerine is our
systems monitor so this is going to give
you a readout on battery life water
levels
all of that a few other details in here
we have wireless charging on the
nightstand as well as usb ports and
headboard storage so there's quite a lot
of headboard storage in there so behind
me is a look at our integrated tongue
box in here we do have our 11-pound
propane tank that is routed internally
through the frame all the way back to
the stove that's in the rear there is a
removable waterproof rubber liner in
here we have l-track on the back so you
can mount different things shovels
hatchets that you're bringing with you
we also have a generator in here for the
ac that we are testing up top it runs
off the 12-volt system but drains your
battery pretty quick so if you want an
ac option we will recommend
a generator with that few details on the
side this is going to be your shore
power plug so you can plug in to charge
the lithium batteries on board standard
is a 100 amp hour lithium battery we do
have an option to increase to double
that to 200 amp hours we have our
convertible side table here this turns
into the cabinet face for the rear
galley which we can take a look at
momentarily
this just drops out of the mount there
to collapse down as the cabinet face
pops back in like so what you're looking
at here is just the vent for the truma
combi now what you can't see here is
probably one of the most exciting parts
about the topo 2 is our utilities closet
and that is a dedicated space that
exists between the galley and the cabin
for all of the mechanical systems we've
got your heater in there uh if you opt
for an inverter it will be in there your
batteries your water tank and all of the
plumbing um are inside of the insulated
cabin so what that allows is extended
use of your trailer so even if it's
dropping down below freezing overnight
as long as you're keeping the cabin
temperature above freezing you don't
have to worry about pipes freezing or
damage to your system it'll also allow
your your batteries to run run longer
and really just increase the durability
and longevity of your trailer over time
all right so the galley of the topo two
this
is pretty exciting stuff we were able to
put a sink in this trailer
once we moved away from having any
structural wood components and we could
figure out a way to optimize the design
in the galley to fit both the stove and
a sink we decided we had to go for it
the tabo two will come standard with a
sink it also has hookups for a shower
there will be a shower included that'll
mount onto the exterior over here the
stove is in a pull out drawer and then
beneath the stove is actually another
pull out for silverware and utensils and
such this fits a yeti 75 a tundra 75
liter cooler it will also fit an arb 63
quart fridge freezer everything will be
wired and powered for a fridge freezer
if you want one so you can start out
with the yeti and change your mind down
the road you'll also see some clever
knife storage that we have back here
behind the sink these are all on
magnets
so
you can prep all your food
and then as i mentioned the table on the
side will turn back into the cabinet
face and store here when you're in
transit
and this cutting board comes in here to
cover this up when you're on the road
this is a modular system here so these
panels can slide out you can buy as many
of these as you would like so you can
move this around change the space
depending on what you have that you want
to bring out on the road with you one
thing i mentioned earlier was that
utilities closet the galley is where you
will access anything if you ever need to
change a fuse or service your batteries
and check on the inverter you can get to
that through an access panel behind here
the truma combi is back here behind the
access panel here and then the water
heater access panel is behind the yeti
cooler one of the beautiful things about
this again not only from a functionality
standpoint but an aesthetics it's a much
cleaner look of a trailer you don't have
to bolt anything onto the outside
everything is protected and tucked away
inside of the trailer so a few final
details about this trailer it will come
standard with the crossbars that you see
up top as well as a six and a half foot
by eight foot roam awning you can
upgrade that to a 180 degree awning if
you want we also have the freeride
suspension system it's our proprietary
in-house design trailing arm with shock
and spring so it controls both
compression and rebound and provides
five inches of independent travel per
wheel so it's an extremely smooth and
capable ride there's 23 inches of ground
clearance on this trailer as is if you
add the undermount spare tire that comes
down to 19 inches but it's still
extremely capable hope you like what
you're seeing uh head over to our site
at eskapod.us for more information about
this and thanks to go treads for having
