Should you check your PSA? Why Prostate Cancer Testing Can Harm - Dr Gill

It's nearly Movember, and that means a focus on prostates across the world. I thought it would be worthwhile to discuss whether or not patient should accept offers for random prostate tests, specifically whether or not they should do random PSA testing.

Let's be clear, when you check your PSA level if there is valid concern about the risk of prostate cancer, then this test can be incredibly useful. However, checking a PSA randomly, can mean the patient's harmed by the limitations of the test.
