Good afternoon, people.
I know the travels videos have been a lot, you know,
we've been flying here and there.
But we're back in Singapore, okay?
You guys see this very iconic boss here?
You guys would know.
I am at Kampong Glub.
It's been a while since I've done any sort of burger challenge in Singapore.
The last time was with Jet, which is a while back.
A lot of you guys recommended this place.
They serve really good tandoori burger, which is interesting.
Because I've never thought of tandoori and burger to go hand in hand.
Tandoori is, you know, eat it with naan.
It's like an interesting marriage, okay?
This place is like one month old.
Previously, they operate home-based, okay?
Now, they finally got a little cosy physical store.
Not very big.
It's like a co-sharing space kind of thing.
Okay, we head in first.
Very hype area.
Inside got sell clothes one also.
This place is called Mahmood's Tandoor.
The boss is there.
He's here today, okay?
So we can have a little bit of a backstory on how this go about.
Let's go.
It smells incredible.
I can smell gear.
Oh, very interesting.
They got a kitchen here.
And then here, they sell like clothes and all the bracelets and everything.
If you're coming from main entrance, right?
You might miss it.
So this place is at 730 North Bridge Road, okay?
From the outside, it looks like some place that I wouldn't walk in.
Some place that doesn't sell food.
If you go in a bit deeper, you will smell the spices already.
So tell us a little bit more about your backstory.
Why did you decide to go ahead with this?
And your name.
Introduce yourself a little bit.
Okay, so I really love to buy this.
The Mahmood's brand is not even my father.
It's her father.
Her father.
Yeah, so I think she needs to be here.
I'm Siraj.
Syirah.
So we are the owners of Mahmood's Tandoor.
And we started off as a home-based business.
During the pandemic.
So we were thinking like, what should we sell?
What should we sell?
We were both bored at home.
My father-in-law used to sell tandoori chicken in a primary school tuck shop.
But it's been our family favourite.
So we thought like, why not use the recipe, tweak it a little.
And then we'll see what happens.
We started off by selling teh tarik and chicken tandoori wings.
And one day we thought like, let's take out the bone from the wings.
And put it in between two buns.
And then boom, the tandoori burger was born.
I understand that there's two variations right?
One is the fried one.
And one is the one that doesn't have any batter.
The one that is grilled.
The baked one is just oven-baked.
So it's marinated chicken thigh and then it's oven-baked.
The other one is marinated with tandoori marinade.
And then we coat it with tandoori flour.
And then we fry it.
Fried chicken is fried chicken.
Yeah, we can't run away.
Fried chicken is still everyone's favourite.
From far, I could smell the masala.
I could smell all the spices.
I've never tried like an Indian-inspired infused burger.
I've never tried your food.
This is also my first time coming in blind.
Those that actually sent me the recommendations, I trust you guys.
I hope you guys are comfortable if it's not me.
Okay, so I'm very excited today also.
Because they're going to create a giant one.
Okay, a giant one.
He drew a sketch for me you know.
He drew a nice little sketch.
You want to show them the sketch?
Snap it out, this is the sketch okay.
But later we'll see how this materialises to the real thing.
It's a giant burger and the burger will give birth to mini burgers.
I think if we measure within Zermatt, maybe...
It's like a whole metre section.
That's his abs, that's his eight-pack.
Let's show a bit of the prepping and we'll see how this goes.
Let's go.
Okay, first time I've seen fries like that.
I know I've seen a lot of loaded fries.
But first time I've seen loaded fries with mint sauce.
Looks very aesthetic though.
And they're not giving chance ah.
They're hiong hiong one ah.
Look at the way she's like going at it.
We are doing it at level 2.
Which is a nice little cosy space.
I think you can eat up here.
Massive burger.
The weight is close to 7 kilos.
Or maybe even over 7 kilos.
A lot of different stuff in there.
A lot of fried chicken.
There's even mini sliders in there as well.
A lot going on.
I'm honestly a little bit intimidated by this burger.
It's massive okay, it's legit massive.
This is crazy though, this is crazy.
The boss actually said something.
Before I start, he said like,
okay this burger,
apparently it costs about $500 or something.
Okay, if I will beat it,
if I'm going to finish this within an hour,
okay, he's going to give away
$500 Thumbs 2 to charity.
Today, you know,
there's a bit of,
more of an incentive for me to push and try to finish this.
Because I told him that I'm not even sure if I can finish this.
This is a lot of fright food.
Okay, as I go,
I'm just going to walk you guys through it as I go okay.
Very sad I didn't remove this, but let's go.
Look at the amount of stuff in there.
Okay, let's go.
First bite.
I'm excited.
Let's go.
It tastes like,
you are,
I'm eating off the,
you know, the Indian saw,
the tandoori steak, you know.
It tastes exactly like that.
You want to try it?
Later I give you a try.
The chicken is huge.
This is the fried one.
Oh,
the fried one is so much better.
Oh, the harissa mayonnaise is so good.
Dip it in more sauce.
Tiny burger.
Oh.
Someone eat?
This is just a,
Is it appetizing?
It's good.
I mean, it's a really good burger,
but it's like,
I'm filming for my YouTube channel.
I thought it might be something like that.
Yeah.
They serve the regular size downstairs.
It's hilarious.
What size is this?
It's huge.
This is the size of a bun.
Can you hold that up?
I'm honestly a bit confused.
This is a burger.
It looks like a burger and,
when you look at fried chicken burger right,
it reminds me of like those Nashville hot chicken.
But this one tastes completely different.
It's just got so much masala in there.
All that Indian spices.
You can taste a bit of yogurt from the,
tandoori chicken, the grill one.
The fried one is really good as well.
The batter is so much masala in those batter.
That first layer,
first layer is chicken,
second layer is fries,
sliders,
wings,
fries,
and then more chicken.
It's pretty much like the same fried chicken,
but it's just like,
you know,
sandwich with a bun.
It's just like a,
50%,
1% of this.
This sauce is fantastic though.
It's like some sort of chicken rice inspired sauce.
Not spicy.
Very, very garlicky.
Mmm.
Playing treasure hunt you know.
Like,
every bite is a different,
different thing.
The fries what?
Fries is like,
yeah,
take one.
Eh,
their fries damn good.
Mmm.
Wah,
this is solid.
Like okay,
the chicken right,
there's two type ah.
One is the breaded one,
the other one is the non-breaded one.
This one is the grill one.
No breading at all.
I like both actually.
As if you're eating,
like an Indian,
inspired sandwich.
Yeah,
if that makes sense.
It feels like I'm eating Indian food for this one.
Let me show you guys the regular sized one.
That's how a regular sized one looks like.
It smells incredible ah.
They are very serious when it comes to their buns ah.
Their buns are extremely buttery,
and it's very hot ah.
Okay,
later,
later we get the person behind the camera to eat.
Get back to the fried one.
Fried one tastes very similar to a Nashville fried chicken sandwich.
it's got a bit of heat,
richness coming from the harissa mayonnaise.
If they add a bit more heat to it,
which I think is possible,
you can actually adjust the level of heat.
I think it's going to be incredible.
So apparently they got two fries.
One is the loaded fries,
one is the masala fries.
This is the masala one ah.
The masala fries comes with the pineapple on it,
pineapple relish on it.
A bit lighter as compared to the loaded one.
I know the loaded one is going to be heavy.
It's not very heavy.
You know,
it's very refreshing coming from the pineapple.
The pineapple gives it a very nice,
zesty,
sweet kind of,
kind of contrast to it.
Alright.
Woah.
I tell you,
everything is a 10 out of 10 so far.
Chicken wing,
I'll show you guys the chicken wing technique.
How to one bite a chicken wing.
Okay,
it's going down,
it's going down guys.
We are at the,
I don't know which layer.
Even though it's a one hour time limit right,
I'm not going very fast,
because in my mouth right,
there's this ulcer the size of a crater,
like all the way at the back of my mouth.
It hurts so bad.
Isaac was asking me if this burger right,
is it going to be a bit more,
a bit too rich,
a bit too,
you know,
because of the flavour,
the sauce they put on top.
It is.
I think one out of two burgers you will really,
really enjoy.
Maybe too much right,
it gets a bit jelak,
you know.
But this is why they got a bunch of different drinks for you to go with it ah.
One out of two enjoying it.
You guys can actually order this for a birthday cake.
This one looks like a birthday cake.
You order right,
then you put a candle on top.
I will eat this at a wedding any day ah.
As compared to the,
I don't know,
the whatever nonsense that they like to serve.
You'll have some for the night after coming back.
Oh my god.
I'm going to eat some patty,
how do you know?
Guys this is like,
half of it gone already ah,
and it's still so massive.
Hope I don't break the plate or something.
You know what's a good thing?
The bun is very tasty.
You got a very nice subtle sweetness to it.
The bun,
I don't know why.
Well,
it's like I'm eating a cake.
I don't know how many you think you can do.
No, not how many,
how many percent?
10% is a lot eh.
10% is about,
Yang Lee Normal.
I tell you guys,
the density is completely different.
Like 7kg of this,
and 7kg of Char Kway Teow,
or like 7kg of Bak Chor Mee.
Completely different.
This is a million times more dense.
I wish it tastes like a cake now.
Guys, this restaurant is Halal Certified.
I know you guys are going to ask in the comments.
Okay, straight away I tell you first.
Halal Certified, okay?
This thing tastes fermented lah,
but no alcohol in it at all.
The umami of this drink.
Yeah, syrup is all starchy.
Wow.
It's good though.
But it's so sweet.
Oh, it's very good.
It's really very good.
Careful, I see the way you cut ah.
Clearly never do...
Wah, why?
No, but it clearly shows that I'm not...
The bread is really good.
Inside got fries ah,
but oh my god.
So again, I recap a bit ah.
The recipe actually came from the wife's dad.
Okay, he sold like Tandoori chicken
in primary school.
Then I think they took the recipe
and they tweaked it a bit.
Whether did they like add more spice to it
or reduce, I don't know.
But I think they did add more things to it
because the flavour was very strong.
I don't think they can sell this in primary school.
Not this burger,
I'm saying like the current recipe.
But I really really like what they're doing.
Started from like home-based in COVID,
now becoming like a physical store
for just only one month here.
A lot of people are young hawkers.
They leave their job,
they jump into F&B.
It takes a lot.
It takes a lot to do that.
But also a lot of recipes,
because it's not easy.
And for them right,
it's not easy to develop a recipe like that.
Last bite, last bite guys.
Last bite.
Thank you.
Very good burger though.
Wah, this one is rough though.
Like that last stretch,
that last stretch though.
It was enjoyable,
but it was really rough.
But then again,
like I say,
one of the better fried chicken burgers
I've had in Singapore.
In fact, it might beat any fast food chicken burger.
This one is really very good.
A lot of effort.
The sauce is like,
the sauce just complements very well with the chicken.
Okay, so that's it.
That's it for this video.
I hope you guys enjoyed this one.
Again, I am at Bermud's Tenderoo, okay?
So they serve really really good tandoori chicken burger.
Okay, come down and try.
730 North Bridge Road, I think.
Yeah, should be.
The address will be down in the description anyway.
That's it for this one.
I hope you guys enjoyed this one.
A lot of you guys have been asking for this one.
I really enjoyed it, okay?
So continue to drop me your recommendations
down in the comments below.
Okay, remember to like this video.
A lot of you guys,
I realize a lot of you guys
don't have a habit of liking my videos.
Please drop me a like.
It will really help this channel grow.
So subscribe if you're not already done so.
Almost forgot, almost forgot.
Big win, okay?
Managed to do this under an hour.
About $1,000 to charity.
I will match his donation as well, okay?
So $2,000 to charity.
Okay, so big thank you to the team.
They put in a lot of hard work to create this creation.
So that's it for this one.
I'll see you guys in the next one.
Bye bye.
