Video transcript :-

Dental plaque is a soft, sticky film that forms on the surface of teeth.
It consists mainly of bacteria, their byproducts, food particles, and saliva.
When we consume food and drinks, especially those high in sugars and carbohydrates, bacteria in the mouth metabolize these substances and produce acid.
This acid can lead to tooth decay if plaque is not removed effectively.
The harder form of plaque, known as tartar, occurs when plaque is left on the teeth for too long, and is much harder to remove.
Since tartar can form both above and below the gumline, it can lead to gum disease and other oral health problems as well.
So, in this video you are going to learn 7 natural ways to get rid of dental plaque and tartar quickly and effectively.
Number 1, Brushing with Baking Soda.
Baking soda is alkaline in nature. So, it neutralizes acids in the mouth, which reduces the formation of plaque at the first place.
In addition, baking soda is abrasive and helps scrub away plaques during brushing without causing damage to the enamel.
For this, mix a small amount of baking soda with water to form a paste, and it can be used to brush your teeth once or twice a week.
Number 2, Oil Pulling with Coconut Oil.
Coconut oil is rich in lauric acid, which has antibacterial properties.
Oil pulling helps reduce the number of bacteria in the mouth, which decreases plaque formation.
To use this method, swish a tablespoon of coconut oil in your mouth for about 15-20 minutes, then spit it out.
Rinse your mouth with water and brush your teeth.
This can be done daily.
Number 3, Chewing on Sesame Seeds.
Sesame seeds act as a natural exfoliant, helping to scrub away plaque from the teeth.
They also promote saliva production, which naturally helps in cleaning the mouth.
To use this method, take a handful of sesame seeds and chew them without swallowing.
Use a dry toothbrush to brush the seeds around your teeth to help remove plaque.
Number 4, Hydrogen Peroxide Mouthwash.
Hydrogen peroxide is a mild antiseptic and has strong antibacterial properties.
It can help reduce the number of bacteria in the mouth that cause plaque formation.
Hydrogen peroxide also helps to whiten teeth by breaking down stains on the enamel.
To use this method, mix equal parts of 3% hydrogen peroxide and water to make a mouthwash.
Swish it around your mouth for about one minute, then spit it out and rinse with water.
This can be done a few times a week but should not be overused as it can cause irritation of the gums and oral tissues.
Number 5, Apple Cider Vinegar.
Apple cider vinegar has natural antibacterial properties and can help kill harmful bacteria that contribute to plaque formation.
Its acidic nature also helps to break down plaque and tartar buildup on the teeth.
Dilute apple cider vinegar with water and use it as a mouth rinse.
Swish the solution around your mouth for about 30 seconds, then rinse thoroughly with water to avoid enamel erosion.
This can be done once or twice a week.
Number 6, Orange Peels.
Orange peels contain a compound called d-limonene, which has natural antibacterial properties.
This compound helps to reduce bacterial growth on the teeth and gums, which can contribute to plaque formation.
Additionally, the natural oils in the peel act as a mild abrasive to help scrub away plaque.
To use this method, rub the inner white part of an orange peel directly on the teeth and gums before brushing.
Let it sit for a few minutes, then brush your teeth as usual.
This can be done several times a week.
While these natural methods can be helpful in reducing plaque and tartar, they should be used alongside regular dental care practices, such as brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, flossing, and routine dental check-ups for optimal oral health.
