Hey, look, Dan's here.
How's it going, everybody?
I'm Daniel Horner, professional shooter for Sig Sauer.
I was in the Army for 13 years
at the Army Marksmanship Unit,
won a dozen multi-gun national champions,
and now I'm here with the collector himself
to go check out what I hear to be
quite the impressive display of guns.
Yep, we're gonna go take a tour,
and then we're gonna go head out to the range.
You can also say Dan is the foremost expert
on building ranges, which is why he's out here.
He's gonna really pimp out this dude's setup.
Over the years, I've had an opportunity
to go to quite a few ranges all over the world,
and when I heard about this,
it's a pretty cool project
because not only are we doing long-range rifle shooting,
but you wanna do some pistol and carbine
and then terrain stuff,
so it's gonna be really exciting to see.
I actually haven't been to the property yet,
so I'm learning a lot of this as we go.
It's gonna be badass.
Remember when I beat you at golf last night, Matt?
Yeah, you did beat me.
How many holes did I beat you by?
17 holes?
Remember when I beat you at pool last night?
I won the pool last night.
Man, did you?
You didn't really win.
That's a Russian .50 cal.
.50?
Yeah.
This one, I shot this one at the range.
You got a spear in here, huh?
Yep.
What caliber did you get this in?
.308?
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, this is a very good gun.
Good setup.
Wow.
Yeah, it's pretty badass.
Shotguns are great.
I mean, the Benelli's, the M2s, the M4s are just fabulous.
Matt, what kind of gun is that?
.22.
Who makes it?
Nice try.
Are you a pool player, Dan?
Not to speak of, but I'll give it a try.
I don't think I've ever seen a stuffed coyote.
Well, I shot that.
Yeah, you loved it.
He's like, let's play.
New road, 150 trucks of road base,
six culverts of 20 feet long, four feet wide,
I believe.
Amount of time and effort went into it.
That's pretty damn sure.
How much it cost to put a road in and a property, Matt?
It was around $160,000.
But it's going to be well worth it in the end.
Value of the property goes up that way,
but it just makes it so much easier to get to.
Go to the ditch to the right.
I think you just let that terrain tell you
where it sits and make it safe.
So where would you start?
100 to what?
100 to that mile?
I would say probably-
Go 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600?
Yeah, but that two to six is,
especially if you're looking for stuff
outside of just the YouTube,
that two to six is your real training area.
And then your six to 1,000,
that's your more sniper-y area.
Anything past 1,000 is kind of considered ELR
to some degree.
30 yards, man, 30 yards.
Thank you.
Where do you think this corner would be?
What's that for?
Back of the berm.
30 yards from the back of the berm.
All right, so we got out here.
We're riding around 1,000 acres,
trying to figure out the best use of this property
for all the things that the collector wants to do.
Got some amazing opportunities.
I think we're gonna do a small pistol bay,
kind of good high density targets, good training bay.
But then also we've got tons of ravines
to do run and shoots,
multiple places that we can set up a carving course
in that two to 600 yard range.
And then we've got the long range positions
that we've got out to a mile to 2K.
So really cool piece of property.
Do some amazing stuff.
And then also all of the amenities that he's got planned.
So it's not just gonna be out here in the desert.
Man, this has been just a great trip.
I'm really excited to get a chance to come out here
and meet everybody, see the collector, see the collection,
and then also see the property in its infancy.
I can see where he's going with this
and the amazing opportunities
that are gonna be available out here.
So I'm excited to come back.
He's already got plans to start pushing dirt
basically next week.
So targets are being delivered.
This is gonna be a really, really cool place.
Do you want me to do any chatter?
Just go.
Hi, top left, probably 11 o'clock.
Oh man.
Hey, let's go, I'll shoot.
Orange guy with a circle in the middle on the left.
You talking about the black circle?
Yeah, it's an orange target with a small black flapper.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I'm gonna shoot the circle in the middle.
Okay.
Nailed it.
That's weird.
Yeah, we're good.
All damn day.
All day.
Matt, what we got here?
What are we shooting?
Mark 22 with Schmidt and Bender
with a silencer code can 300 Norma.
Dan's out here helping us get a sighted in.
Oh yeah.
No, I'm teaching Dan how to shoot.
You're doing a great job.
Yeah, thank you.
Okay.
Just hold center on it.
Okay.
And let's see what happens here.
Shot feel good?
Yeah, it felt like it went right through the hole.
Yeah, so it was still low a mil,
so dial up one mil.
Hold center, send it when you're ready.
It's been a true honor for having Dan Horton here.
He's really broadened my horizons
of what I can do with this place.
It's so extreme.
I mean, we were already planning
on building a barn and mini-imat here.
That's definitely gonna happen.
And we'll be able to do anything we want.
It's a big sandbox for me
to do whatever the I want.
We're gonna have a Terran tactical type range here.
We're gonna have long distance ranges.
We're gonna have different locations to shoot from
to a mile to just over a mile.
We're gonna have pop-ups in our ravines
where you could just do basically CQB in the ravines.
So it's gonna be insane.
He's opened my mind up to where this place
could just help everybody.
Other influencers, influencers come out here
and do stuff with me.
People come out here to train, you know,
classes, groups of people.
It's endless.
I'm so excited to see this vision come together.
I mean, this is gonna take a couple of year guys.
It's not gonna happen overnight, so bear with me,
but this place is gonna be insane.
And you guys are here for the adventure.
Hope you enjoy.
Take care.
