Fernando Alonso having to get out of it,
racing Liam Lawson into Turn 12.
Man, the AlphaTauri is such an idiot.
Welcome to Formula One, Liam Lawson.
Oh, and he'll cost him another spot there to the Alpine.
That's Esteban Ocon that got around both of them eventually.
Tricky starts, tricky first lap.
I lost a spot that I probably shouldn't have to one of the Alpines.
And then, yeah, we just and then you're just in a train.
To be honest, it started to come towards us at the end.
I think the pace wasn't so bad, but it's just when you're in a train like that,
it's really hard to overtake.
You need a clear pace advantage.
So some stuff to figure out for tomorrow.
Nothing really to fight for.
So we took a little bit of free practice to approach
and learning a little bit about the tyres, about the pace for tomorrow.
So let's now try to find some performance for the qualifying.
OK, Liam, that was Alonso.
Don't worry about it.
He's doing exactly what he said he'd do.
Yeah, don't stress about it. Forget it.
Liam Lawson, Fernando Alonso back at it again, down into turn 12.
And the two that were arguing yesterday, continuing the conversation
this time on the racetrack, and Lawson powers ahead.
Not intimidated by a two time world champion.
And he's up to 11th place.
And it's not just a two time world champion.
It's Fernando Alonso.
It's one of the most ruthless ones that's ever done it.
He is so crafty.
His race craft is among the best in the sport.
You don't get to however many hundreds of Grand Prix
he has without learning a trick or two.
Very cunning.
And to be, I don't want to say out Fox, that might be disrespectful to Alonso,
but certainly having got the better of him for a driver and only his,
you know, first couple Grand Prix is impressive.
Liam, I've got to ask you, not only were you in at the deep end for this weekend,
you've never raced this track before.
You then had the grid penalty starting from the back
and then equaling your best result in a Formula One car.
You've also had a little bit of an altercation, shall we say,
with two time world champion Fernando Alonso,
the elder statesman of the Formula One paddock.
Can you talk us through some of your interactions this weekend?
Obviously, it's racing.
You know, we're in the heat of the moment.
It was a tough fight, but I think, yeah,
I didn't think I didn't think I did anything wrong.
I thought it was hard racing, obviously.
And today I expected him to put up more of a fight.
But, you know, he was nice. He let me go.
You know, he's somebody that has a huge amount of experience
and somebody that for me, I can learn a lot off.
He's somebody that I watched when I was a kid, you know, growing up.
And so I have a huge amount of respect for him, regardless of what happened yesterday.
