Arsenal ✪ Road to Quarter Final - U.C.L 2024

He's been involved in 15 goals in his last 15 starts in the competition. This is why he though is a real threat, potentially for Lanz. Good ball in. It's a second opportunity. Thomason was in there. Raya just slightly off his line. They struggle to get it clear and only just wide. They had plenty forward for that including Kevin Danzo, former Southampton defender. Premier League last season. Rice when he was with West Ham. The second most ball carries. Arsenal a threat here with Gabriel Jesus. Great finish. So well placed. His first sighted goal. And he took his chance brilliantly. He just loves this competition. A better than one in two record. Clinical from Gabriel Jesus. Zinchenko spotted the movement from Havertz. And the save by Samba. Again it's really nice approach play from the Gunners. Up towards Wahid. And Thomason was in there. Loves on terms. Thomason took that so well. Havertz. Trossard to his left. Gabriel Jesus. Trossard. And almost. Turned home. Almost an own goal. Mendy. Raya's backpedalling. Thomason has Wahid in the middle. The pullback was a good one. And it's in to the side. Petit. Well it was Salish, Abdul, Samet, Arad waiting to make their move. As Erdegaard swings it in. Great ball. And an instinctive save. Vieira. I don't think he knew a great deal about that. Goal up in the Netherlands against PSV in the other game in this group. And here's Frankowski. And Wahid. Big summer signage. Has done the business here. In the Champions League. This performance is just of late. Particularly after the game against Real Madrid. Arsenal have worked it nicely here though. The shot from Tommy Yasu goes wide. But he's getting forward a lot in the end. It's Sevilla. Gabriel Jesus looking to get in behind. He's got support through Martinelli as well. What a good move. What a swift move that was from Arsenal. Ramos has intercepted. As Sevilla look to get forward at the end of the half. Ocampos. Away from Ben White. That's a good ball as well. And Nasseri will take it on. And Nasseri! Good move there by Sevilla. Gabriel who got it clear. A lovely turn that by Gabriel Jesus. And what a free ball as well. And Martinelli is in to make it 1-0. Brilliant! What a goal from Arsenal. Right at the end of this first half. A swift counter-attack as you are ever likely to see. Superb Arsenal. It was brilliant. Particularly as it came from a good attack from Sevilla. And it's all about Jesus and Martinelli. Competition six times since without winning any of them. They've got themselves in a good position here. And it could get better. Odegaard! Real pressure from Arsenal. They want a second quickly in this second. Gabriel Jesus. Three in the box here. Jesus goes for goal and finds it! Oh, that's special. What a party he's having. In this Arsenal success story in Seville so far tonight. A wonderful assist from Martinelli. Rakitic with the ball. Over! And they have got back in the game. Super header from Goudel. Arsenal switched off. Sevilla capitalised. Ocampos. Ocampos is there again. Sumari. Is there another goal in this for Sevilla? It's been brought down beautifully! And Ocampos is just being turned by Tommy Yasin. Handball all day. I don't think he'd be happy with how his team have defended so far. 28 minutes or so. That's a lovely ball. It's Saka in behind. Saka! That's how you do it! Pass from Bakayo Saka. And Leandro Trossard scores his second Champions League goal of the season. Inevitably to Martinelli. Kike Salah. A chance of Ben White getting around the outside there. But it's given straight back to Georginio. And then Kai Havertz. He fancies the shot. Just didn't quite bend enough. Loic Panet. It's going to be tight with the Sakas onside. Whether Goudel was playing him on. Saka in for Arsenal. Score! Well he finished it quite brilliantly. No flag from the assistants. Of course it will be checked. Ben White on the overlap. It's lifted and it's too high for Havertz. It's fired in by Shinchenko. Brilliant save. Calling for it on the edge of the box. Rice is there too. But it's Tomiyasu who's picked out. Gabriel Jesus with the header. And in it goes. And it's him. Scores again for Arsenal. They're saying it is a possibility before this game. Saka trying to get to that. Gabriel Jesus. Gets! 2-0 Arsenal. How well did he take that? Fine finish by Gabriel Jesus. And Arsenal quite... Mike Shinchenko will just play off that. And Havertz. Havertz with the pass. Now Martinelli. Did they get a third? They can! Saka turns from provider to goal. What a season he is having. What a night. Arsenal are having three... Pass that serve into to Martinelli. Twisting and turning and looking for the room for the shot. Oh my gosh. How about that? From Martinelli. And Arsenal at the Everts. It's found in two. Gabriel Jesus. What's it? Oh! Brilliant goal. It's the captain this time. Martin Oerdegaard. And Arsenal in this first half. ...to be desired. There was no coming back from that, was there? Jorginho. 6-0. Smiles all round at the Everts. An emphatic victory for the Gunners. Who will still be keen to finish the group stage in style? It's Pepe with Bakayoko making a run here. It's a lovely ball to pick him out as well. Others arriving in the box. And Rumsdale. Hooked down. How has that stayed out? First significant attack that we've seen from... Tese. Towards Pepe again. And the header is... The post. So close. To make them help him kick on again, aren't they? Nelson. Eddie Nketiah. Got it out of his feet and finished beautifully. That is a proper centre-forwards finish, isn't it? From Eddie Nketiah. It's his first Champions League goal. Took it so well. Still with Bakayoko who drives on. And has a goal and forces the save from Rumsdale. He is so direct, isn't he? Pepe. Saipardi is arriving to his right. Batesin. Oh, it's in. The PSV in on the post. Run Batesin. Line here from PSV. Goalkeeper came a long way and didn't get there. Another whistle from offside position. Oh, nice flick. And Trossard can finish it here. Great save. And then wide from Kibio. Alconse Sal. Skips away from Kibio and makes some room for the cross. That's good defending initially... Oh! How did that not go in? Galeno. My word. I mean, the one off the post is unbelievable effort. He probably should score. Second lifted in off the top of the bar, but the assistant's flag went up to indicate the ball had gone out before it came back. Tarvio trying to play it forward. Still getting down to Martin Odegaard, but he's moved off it. It's Nico Gonzalez! With plenty of power, but too much height. Here's Pepe. Lovely backheel to Eben Nielsen! From the angle. With the goal-scoring record he's got this season, he was quite happy to... Reiss pulls it back. It's a nice ball! It's a really good chance for Trossard. Had so much time to think about it and measure it. Brilliant move. Absolutely fantastic. Can win the ball back. That might just have found its way through to Saka. As it is, it's with Galeno for Porto. Last chance for them. Oh, it's in! What a goal! Cue the celebrations in the track now! The Porto shoves it onto the field. It's an outrageous finish from Galeno. And Porto with just about the last kick of the game. Wendell coming in from his left back. Trossard looking to accelerate and deliver the cross. Ben White's up there from the back! And that lands on the roof of the Porto net. Wendell certainly wasn't messing about with his challenge, was he? I'm still shaking up here. Still continue to press. Jorginho. It's Urdegaard! And then coming across to tidy things up in there. Kaio Saka. Gets it back again from Leandro Trossard. Urdegaard with the drive! I've got that down as a chance switch. Here's Evan Ilsen for the first time with the shot! That's not that far away. That's the warning because they've got a player in there too. Here is Raul Mario. Evan Ilsen with a bit of space. And a shot! And a good save by David Ryan. And then Konsei Sau. Oh, he's just to skip away and find some room down that side. It was just glanced on there by Declan Rice. It came at him quickly. And they've got four in the Arsenal box. It's gone in deep now towards Galeno. Who wins his header. And Evan Ilsen was the one running across the goal. Looking to lift it. Havertz at the far side. What a touch. Pepe just got across didn't he? It might be 41 but he still gets there when he needs to get there. It goes for Trossard. Havertz and Rice amongst those in the box. It's played down to Trossard. Who's in? Scores! Arsenal! Urdegaard. Absolutely unbelievable. That's us. I mean it's proper drama isn't it? And he scores. Penalty. Saved it! David Ryan! Good things against Jorginho. There's a chance there. Neglect there by Saka. Promising here for Arsenal. Havertz holds it. Gives it to Urdegaard. Here's Martinelli. Chance to shoot! Drags it wide. First side tonight for Arsenal. Martinelli for... And there's Davies. Linking up with Saka again. Wight can play it through Saka. Promising goal! Ben Wight the player on the move. Defending done there by Serge Gnabry but he breaks for Havertz. Ben Wight's in for two! Stokes at Neuer. That's a massive moment. Great chance for Ben Wight but Manuel Neuer. Dealt with by Gabriel but then given away to Leroy Sane. And that's a great run made by Leon Goretzka. Slipped through now for Gnabry. It's 1-1. And the former Arsenal player returns to Hornthorpe in the Champions League. A young man who signed for this club at 16. Comes back to level in the Champions League quarter-final. The first time he's been back for eight years. It's a big goal for Bayern. It's a special goal for Serge Gnabry. And look at the acceleration to run away from Kimmio. What a brilliant tackle. Oh, he's gone over in the box! It's a penalty! He's tangled lips to Lever. And it's a penalty to Bayern Munich. Up steps the England captain and calmly rolls it into the corner. And Arsenal's tormentor-in-chief Harry Kane is back to strike against them again. Arsenal's lead is gone. And Bayern Munich lead in north London by two goals to one. He just knew to pull the trigger. Now there's the break on. And not many catch Leroy Sane from here. He's in here for Bayern Munich. Tracking back was Ben White who did magnificently well. Leroy Sane. In it goes from Reiss. And that's not the back. And he's already beyond him. Here's Musiala. Goretzka still has it. Shooting and dragging it by. They're so dangerous, aren't they, when they get it? Kimmich. Kane. Deflected. And White, corner. Bayern defensively. Declan Reiss, this header. Helped on by Trossard. Then by Saka, Jesus. Promising. Good feed. Still going. Trossard. Brilliant goal. Kimmich. That's all of it used. Musiala. Defending for Arsenal to do. Cross feed. Good chance without the post. From Kingsley Coman. I think it was a piece of David Ryer too. Oh, what an effort. I think it's in. Evening, Rashford. Evening, everyone. Nothing quite like these nights at this significant stage of the season. They are laced with both jeopardy and opportunity. The senses heightened. The pressure palpable. A competition revered the world over. It is the trophy they all want. Arsenal seek that feeling for the very first time. Bayern pursue. Supported here by Kimmich. In towards Kane. Up to Havertz. Now Martinelli. Martinelli will try and bend one. She didn't quite have enough bend on it. Linking up well. The space out wide for Sané. He's got him behind here. Tommy Yasser plays. Arriving in the middle. That's really important. Blocked that by Gabriel. First time they've got Sané entirely here. And Masraoui was on the outside. Luciala. And pushed away. And this is Kimmich. And there's plenty of them. Difficult with Bayern having so many players on the edge of the box. Odegaard will have a go. And that worries and troubled Neuer. Did he keep that in? I think. Odegaard. And Martinelli. Straight at Neuer. To Kimmich. And Goretzka made the run into the box. And Guerrero hits it. So close for Bayern. Well, that's the closest we've come, haven't we? What a header that is from Goretzka, I think, initially. Bayern rushing players forward. Didn't quite find Harry Kane. And then. Well, that was a heart and mouth moment, wasn't it? Behind it goes. For a corner. Wide it comes to Sané. He's looking to hit the byline. Raya got a touch on it. It's come here to Guerrero. Stands up a good cross. Saliba. Taken by Odegaard. Just a bit too much on it. Van Dijk hides it. Looking to get in behind. And still Odegaard. This has to be the moment. But it isn't. It's so easily cleared.
