Greetings my dears in love and light. I'm Nikki Sutton. How to heal traumas.
Now what do I mean by traumas? A trauma can be an event or a series of events or
circumstances in your life that have caused you pain. The pain can radiate through time
and repeat on you today in the form of emotions that seem to involuntarily come up from the
subconscious mind and make you feel a certain way today. Now those things that have happened
in our past they tend to program us about what reality is like, what people are like,
what everything is like. When we're young we soak up information like a sponge and it programs us
about what reality is like and how to deal with it and so on. And if it's been somewhat
inhospitable for example it programs us that reality is inhospitable and then we feel,
for example, anxious today because we believe that negative things are going to happen.
So part of inner work on our spiritual path is resolving these traumas, healing them,
finding where they've been repressed in the subconscious mind and instead of just dealing
with the negative emotions day to day we address them if we feel like it's safe to do so. If we
can. Whenever an emotion comes up it's a clue that we need healing because the subconscious
mind causes emotions to bubble up for us not because the subconscious mind wants to punish us
it's actually trying to protect us. It's a clue that we have healing that needs to be done in the
subconscious mind. Hurts and traumas that need looking over, new perceptions gained and healing.
Often these emotions come up as signposts that we need healing and even to protect us. For example
if we're very distrusting of people today it's usually to protect us from more hurt because
we've had reason to distrust people in the past. Okay so we don't want to change memories in the
past we want to change the perception of them. So I'm going to talk about all this in a different
way today, slightly different way, different angles for you to help you to really get into it
so that you can really embody this kind of knowledge and do your inner work yourself.
We can look at ourselves and work on these bits and bobs that need healing and bit by bit day by
day we can feel better on our spiritual path. So we gain new perceptions by looking at these things
by mulling them over because the conscious you of today is better able to evaluate these things.
You have better reasoning now than when you were a child or a young adult. You took on ideas and
perceptions when you were younger which you may not take on today with a different point of view
that you have now and we try to eliminate these negative and limiting beliefs that we took on.
So here we go ways to heal traumas. Now number one is the most important point. It's the point on
how to do it and the following points will give examples of when it's needed and to help you
recognize when healing is needed and how to. So point number one is the most important point.
In point number one we're talking about revisiting what went on in the past and remember only do this
if you feel like it's safe to do so that you're not going to have some kind of emotional breakdown
things like that without full support. It's a good idea to let others know that you're having this
kind of healing happening to you. You're on a spiritual path if you can so they're there to
help support you. So we revisit what went on. Now as I said we often gain new perspectives and that's
why we're doing it and to change old perceptions with your mind of today. Now this is always best
in a relaxed state. The reason for this is that the subconscious mind is accessible in a relaxed
state. When we're very active the conscious mind is very active. Now you're in two minds the
conscious mind as I always say. I'll just run through it quick. The conscious mind is a working
everyday you. It does one thing at a time. It processes reality. It filters reality. It judges.
It decides. It thinks. That's you thinking doing one thing at a time, right? You can only think
about one thing at a time. Am I right? Okay but the subconscious mind is the deeper mind. It holds
all your programming from younger years. It holds all your memories. It's the seat of your emotions
that come up day to day even those involuntary ones. So that's why it's called the involuntary
mind. Things just come up and bubble up from it. So this bigger deeper mind can be accessed much
better in a relaxed state because in this state the conscious mind gently fizzles away and the
subconscious mind becomes dominant. It becomes more accessible and in this way it's easily changed
through perceiving things in new ways. Rewriting those perceptions. Not rewriting the memories
but rewriting the perceptions. So the way to do this is a couple of ways. First of all you know
I'm going to say it in meditation. So you relax yourself down through meditation but you're still
concentrating. You're allowing your brain waves to lower from that of the active beta state to an
alpha state or even lower perhaps the theta state so that your brain waves are lower and the
subconscious mind can come through. Or you can do this in contemplation. We don't always have time
to meditate every single day. I know that sometimes I'm guilty of that because I'm so busy with all
the commitments and everything. So we can sit quietly just sit quietly five or ten minutes and
then begin the following point. Mulling over things. Looking over old issues. Wondering why do I feel
that way? Where is it coming from? And how can I perceive that in a new way with new understanding
and new forgiveness? So there's meditation and then there's quiet contemplation. Nice and quiet
undisturbed just having some time to yourself. Now here is a really key bit in point number one.
When we're doing our meditation or contemplation here's how we can try to heal these old perceptions
these old programs running that cause us to feel certain ways about reality or certain ways about
the self. So in point one we've got some sub points here four of them. So point number one is becoming
aware of what went on. So we feel an emotion which I'll go into various emotions in a minute. We feel
an emotion and we become aware of that emotion and in meditation or contemplation we try to allow the
subconscious mind to present to us earliest times of when this emotion first began to grow.
So becoming aware of what went on number one. Number two is realizing it wasn't us it was given
to us. So for example if we're in some kind of negative circumstances in younger years we realize
that through no fault of our own we were in these circumstances and we have understanding that these
circumstances they were happening to us around us and that the negative perceptions it gave us
in the way that it hurt us or traumatized us it wasn't us it's not something we take on ourselves.
I'll give more examples soon. So number two is realizing it wasn't us it's not of the self
it was happening outside of us. Number three is to go back in a memory and understand why you
or they acted that way. So if you allow the subconscious mind to just bring up memories here
and there in your meditative state or contemplative state long words it's best to have your eyes
closed just go into the memory and just have understanding of why you or they acted the way
they did or why the circumstances happened. So let's say there was a lot of arguing going on
in the home why would that be have understanding okay the parents were very stressed they had money
worries perhaps their parents used to argue a lot perhaps they're just under a lot of pressure so
through understanding we can understand that it was no fault of our own and that they were like
grown wounded children themselves they were unable to self-reflect like you are and in a way it's not
their fault either there's always reasons why people do what they do and it's probably because
they needed a whole bunch of healing themselves but they may not have been aware enough to get it
so we're not blaming anyone we have love for them but understanding which leads to forgiveness
because there's always reasons why people act the way they do even if it's negative if they had been
if their backstory was entirely positive they'd probably be completely different people
okay and when you go back in a memory understanding what went on perhaps someone
passed away so having understanding of the circumstances surrounding that looking back
and realizing again that there was nothing you could have done and also if you go back
into a memory where you were doing something that say you feel guilty about having understanding
of why you behaved the way you did as well there would have been reasons why perhaps you were
stressed perhaps you were upset perhaps you were going without there would have been reasons perhaps
you needed a lot of healing then there's always reasons why people act the way they do and it's
usually because of some unhelpful backstory of their own so we can have understanding and
forgiveness and when it comes to an event understanding the circumstance circumstances
around it and having forgiveness for that okay and point number four is when you go back into a memory
in a relaxed state you can tell those in the memory if it was circumstances where something
was happening to you you can tell them in the memory freeze frame the memory tell them that
this does not apply to you today okay i wish them love in that memory that's one way to do it
have a conversation with them you can tell them how you feel in the memory and tell them why it
doesn't apply to you today and why you don't need to carry this forward and the same goes if it's
something you've done in a in a memory that comes up you can say to yourself this does not apply to
i can leave this behind so those are the four points there just to summarize real quick
one becoming aware of what went on two realizing it wasn't us three going back into the memory and
understanding why you or they acted the way they did or understanding of the circumstances
surrounding what happened and number four tell them in the memory or repeat to yourself
that this does not apply to me today okay in the next point i'm going to run through examples of
emotions that you might be feeling today to help you to figure out why they might be happening
so main point number two now so much counting guilt if we experience guilt today and this is a
very frequent one and this means we have a burden upon the self we're taking responsibility upon
the self which is fine a certain level of responsibility is great of course but when we
take it on the self and it starts to create a lot of negative energy it can make us feel like i do
things wrong or i have done things wrong it eats us away so we can have guilt today if we've for
example done someone done wrong by someone in the past or we can have guilt today if people have
done wrong by us so let's say we're in a family environment where our parents were quite
neglectful therefore we can have guilt today raising our own children because we've done a u-turn
and we want to make sure that we never act the way our parents did so it makes us feel guilty
all the time that we're not doing well enough another thing we can have guilt today if someone
has made us feel guilty a lot so let's say there was a parent that was always giving you guilt trips
about what you're doing and not taking care of them properly that's caused a program running in
your subconscious today of guilt you have to feel guilty about everything okay so there's some
sources of guilt for you if you have excess guilt today and sometimes we have trouble identifying
where it's come from but it's always come from somewhere so if any of those points ring true
with you my point number one which i already went on about comes in and how to heal okay so
here we go on to number three if you're experiencing shame now what's shame shame is different from
guilt guilt is feeling like we are doing things wrong we're not doing well enough shame is when
we feel like it's an i am i am a bad person now why might you feel shame feel like you're a bad
person here's some examples perhaps we were never accepted in younger years if we never felt
acceptance we can feel like there's something wrong with us there's something wrong with me
or i'm a bad person perhaps we were often criticized or belittled in younger years
that would make us feel shamed right there wouldn't it make us feel low down smaller than
everyone else i am not good enough i'm a bad person and perhaps you did something you perceive
as bad in the past that can cause you to feel like you're a bad person today so same with guilt
now shame go back to point number one and do the healing technique i laid out okay number four
unworthiness you might suffer from unworthiness and sometimes it's a hard one to identify
now unworthiness can come about if you feel a bit like i'm not worthy of having what others have or
i'm not worthy or good enough to be here or i'm not worthy to have to participate in this
social context social interaction and it can cause poor confidence okay so unworthiness
can come up if we have not been provided for well enough in the past you may see others around you
that have lots of care and attention love and nice things when you were younger and but you
didn't get any of that so subconsciously you end up programmed that you're not really worth that
much you're not worthy of these things care love and attention or if you are denied opportunities
in younger years as well you can feel like well other people get to have these opportunities but
i don't therefore i'm lower than everyone else i'm not worthy to have them or if you were belittled
a lot in younger years perhaps you're told you don't deserve this because being belittled a lot
can cause a sense of unworthiness too so then we go back to my big point number one and perform
the healing with a meditation and contemplation okay number five then what about feelings of
general anxiety i did a separate video on social anxiety but let's just address generalized anxiety
okay so you might have generalized anxiety in your day-to-day life now if your subconscious
was trained into thinking reality was a place to be anxious in so for example in younger years if
you're living in a high stress situation a very stressed out family super busy chasing after this
goal and the next and the next or as i touched on before a family that argues a lot that's a high
stress situation or if you've lost someone or something losing people losing something that can
cause you anxiety that you're going to lose people again in your life or lose something in
your life you lost a business before you can have a lot more anxiety now that you're going to lose
one again or if you've had for example too much responsibility too soon in life when kids end up
with too much responsibility like looking after their siblings because the parents are neglectful
too much responsibility can cause anxiety in later life because that's too much for a child
to handle so it programs them that reality is like that it's hard work i've got to be
on the ball i've got to make sure everyone's okay things like that so that's just a small
selection of things that can cause generalized anxiety today then we go back to my point number
one and we become aware of what went on realizing it wasn't us taking the burden off the self a
little bit go back in the memory understanding why you or they or those responsible acted that
way what's their backstories having forgiveness and number four telling them that this does not
apply to you today okay let's do a couple more defensiveness or being disagreeable or distrusting
of people so we can have a low amount of trust for people poor trust in other people and also be
disagreeable or defensive for the following reasons is that if we've had reason to lose trust
in someone you trusted so in younger years any time from birth up until now really but mainly
in younger years if you had reason to distrust someone who you previously trusted that can teach
your subconscious mind to be careful so it causes you to be distrustful of people today because
your subconscious mind is trying to protect you from more hurt being betrayed again or if you are
the subject to anger or emotional abuse that can cause you to distrust people because your
subconscious mind is expecting that the same thing's going to happen again so you put up some
walls there in case they're going to be emotionally abusive again or angry towards you that can also
make you defensive and disagreeable as I said or if in younger years you're unable to defend
yourself against something perhaps it's physical abuse or more verbal abuse again if you're unable
to defend yourself against something which children often are unable to do that can cause you
to really distrust people in your life today because your subconscious has been programmed
that you are defenseless and that people attack so we need to work on building up the confidence
that you do have your own boundaries and defenses we go back to point number one do the healing
methods that I laid out there and last of all we have anger if you're experiencing anger day to
day that's a clue that healing is needed so a cause of anger coming up for us today maybe in
the past unresolved pain perhaps something was done to us or an event out of our control that
we haven't been able to reason yet understand or forgive that can cause anger because how could
that happen to me why did that happen to me why did that happen to them however it is another
cause of anger is being in an angry environment a lot it teaches the young subconscious mind that
in this reality we are angry this is how we behave so those are just some examples and then we go back
and do the healing section on those so I know that's been a long video for you today but it's
a very big topic and I hope that goes some way further to helping you do your inner work to heal
the traumas people often say about healing traumas in the spiritual community and quite right really
um it doesn't need to necessarily be some massive traumatic event like a big car accident but which
is also a good example of a trauma but it can be lighter ongoing circumstances that wear us down
terribly over time it's basically negative things that have happened that have affected us in some
way so I've given some examples for you of emotions that come up that are signposts that we
need to follow to go back into the subconscious mind using meditation or contemplation and I've
given you four sub points under my big point number one of ways to heal during your meditation
and contemplation of these traumas now I always say remember Rome wasn't built in a day it's bit
by bit it's day by day and you start to feel better and better and better as you go along and
then you look back a couple of years ago wow look how far I've come I've come a really long way
and in the end you start to feel like everything's okay and you don't have these emotions coming up
all the time negative ones you don't have the negative ones coming up all the time and wow you
know I'm free to experience the positive ones without feeling all these other things that always
would come up bit by bit it really does get better and we can transcend all of this stuff
with a bit of healing changing our perceptions of what went on our vibration rises
our consciousness ascends and we're free to just become become a range of potentials that we can
so leave me and others a comment and what you think about these methods and how you've been
able to heal yourself a little bit or how far you've got left to go things like that
