Statuario goes back-to-back at Cranbourne!

Now they're away. Red Hot George a little bit slow. Statuario jumped okay. And there's Gas Brigade who's showing early speed. Opening address is up there. Firestorm Boy, Deminor and Deonce's back on the running rail. But opening address is going to take them toward the course proper, leading narrowly. Gas Brigade matching it. They're looking to work across. Deonce holds a spot on the fence and is booting up on those other two horses. So a line of three with Gas Brigade the deepest. And then comes Deminor in behind, followed by Divine Thoughts. And then Red Hot George improving after a slow start. And then Firestorm Boy is caught deep in it to east. Statuario's got back, grinding away. And Red Hot Prophet is last. Up towards the quarter and it's Deonce leading. Heading off the back. Leading half length, three quarters now. Gas Brigade. And then Red Hot George opening address and out deeper. Divine Thoughts gets into the race quite rapidly. It's taking off now around them. Goes to third. Firestorm Boy is now following it. Followed by grinding away. Deminor's got shuffled back. Statuario's still a long way off them. But looking clear. And Red Hot Prophet to the outside as they come around the quarter with close to 400 meters to go. So Divine Thoughts now going up strongly to Gas Brigade. They take over from Deonce. They swing opening address. Red Hot George. Firestorm Boy. And then Statuario towards the outside. Divine Thoughts has got its neck in front. Gas Brigade's trying to kick back. Statuario's now rattling home. Divine Thoughts. Statuario's coming with a big over the top. Got there by a head. Statuario's come from the back and beaten Divine Thoughts. Gas Brigade was third. Opening address was fourth. And then came grinding away. In behind Firestorm Boy. And then Run for Prophet. Deonce. Red Hot George towards the back. And Deminor dropped out. 300 meters. Just looking at the head on for the start action. They're off. Mikio out wide. Jumped away fairly well. But delightful journey began fast. Rueda's going to take it on. Statuario began well. As Mikio passes it with Big Kate shooting through from Catching Stars. And the Marg Factor on the fence from Coronation Keith. Statuario drifting well back now. They're being followed by Jack Knows Best. Gray Northern. Alabore. Then Mornington Pier circling. And two or three lengths to Grand Terrain. So Rueda went to the front. Leads probably just a bit off the fence. Now crossing down. But it can't get to the rail. Because the Marg Factor hunts up to join it. Delightful journey's now three out. Big Kate just easing. Coronation Keith on the fence from Catching Stars. Mikio in the clear from the Gray Gray Northern. Then Jack Knows Best. Statuario. Then Alabore. Mornington Pier will come home on the back of the favourite. And second last circling. And Grand Terrain's trying desperately to keep up. Off the back. Heading by the 600 meters mark. And the Marg Factor in front of Rueda by about a half head. A length away. Running third. Delightful journey. Big Kate. Coronation Keith starting to improve on the fence. Needing room. Catching Stars. Mikio. Well back. Gray Northern. Statuario about to come to the outside. Gives the speed six. Mornington Pier trying to get its back as they turn. Delightful journey took over from the Marg Factor. Coronation Keith has travelled well. He's giving chase. And Statuario out wide. Starting to zoom home. And then came Gray Northern and Mornington Pier. Statuario wide out of Mornington Pier. Rush up to Delightful Journey. Statuario hits the lead from Mornington Pier. And Statuario too good. Wins a half length on Northern Pier. Third Mornington Pier. Third prize in the race to Delightful Journey. Then came circling. Gray Northern. Alabore there. Followed by Big Kate behind those is Coronation Keith. The Marg Factor. Mikio. Catching Stars. Jack Knows Best. Grand Terrain and Rueda's had a shocker last in.
