16 Inspiring Stub-End Stations Shaping My Model Railroad
Last month, when I announced I was tearing out my railroad and starting over, I mentioned that I wanted to completely redesign Toronto’s Union Station, turning it from a through station into a stub or terminus station. At the time, I told you I’d been spending quite a bit of time researching different stations across North America for inspiration. A bunch of you said you’d love to see what I found.
So, here’s a look at 16 stub-end stations across the U.S. and Canada, ranging from smaller, lesser-known spots to some of the busiest hubs out there. It’s interesting how different each station is and how they’ve been woven into the downtown areas. I’ve found a ton of inspiration from them, giving me many ideas for how I can creatively adapt Toronto’s Union Station to fit my layout.
A big shoutout to all the creators whose footage I’ve included in this video—I’ve done my best to use content under Creative Commons and properly credit everything. Where I’ve used footage under fair use, I’ve noted that as well.
Thanks for watching, and I hope you enjoy seeing these stations as much as I enjoyed putting them together!
