So guys, congratulations on breaking the game of Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon.
Don't ever say that to me again.
I can't handle it.
I'll put you in a hospital.
I'll send you to a winch trial.
Ladies, stop.
You've totally destroyed it.
So true.
Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, John David Washington, Chris Rock, Annie Taylor-Joy,
you know who's in this movie.
It's absurd.
Both of you are now two stages away from Kevin Bacon.
Just two?
Just two now.
Just two.
Okay.
Rami, it goes, Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part 2.
Okay.
I'd like to hear about it.
Rami loves it when people remind everyone that he's in that.
Oh, it was a treat to do it.
Then Frost knicks in with Michael Sheen, Kevin Bacon.
I will ruin you if it takes the rest of my life.
What have I done?
Margot, you've got Peter Rabbit.
I also love that film.
Your favourite.
Sorry about Dad's jacket.
I'm sorry you lost Dad's jacket.
I just said that.
Rose Byrne.
He looks nice.
X-Men First Class.
Kevin.
Wow.
We don't want the Colonel to be late.
I mean, we have other options.
You are so clever for doing that.
I like that.
Let's begin at the beginning.
When did you guys first meet?
How did this friendship begin?
We love talking about this.
Yes, we do.
We have mutual friends.
Dexter Fletcher and his-
The best. He's the best.
He's the best.
So he, the very first movie I produced was called Terminal.
And I acted in it as well alongside Dex.
Bang.
And so we became friends in that process because there was a cast of five.
Interestingly enough, one of those very few cast members was Mike Myers.
No trains till tomorrow.
404 going north.
He was also in Amsterdam.
Anyways, so you worked with Dexter.
And then we heard through Dexter that Rami's a nice guy.
And I was like, it's good to hear.
I love his work.
And then I was fortunate enough to be the person that got to call out Rami's name when he won the BAFTA.
That's how good friendships are made.
And I mean, that's how the best friendships are made.
It was a special, special, special moment.
Margot, one of my favorite interview moments of all time is speaking to you with Donald Gleeson.
And he started doing underarm farts.
No, but he's not your favorite.
I'm your favorite.
No, you're my favorite.
But he is.
You would love him.
He's hilarious.
But halfway through, he started doing underarm farts.
Yes.
Look at this.
Pretty good.
Which he's really, really good at.
Staggeringly good at.
Anyway.
Staggeringly good at.
The best I've seen.
So what are your hidden talents, guys?
My hidden talents.
I'd say the most convenient talent.
I don't know if it's hidden or particularly special, but definitely the one that comes
in handy the most is being able to open a beer bottle with another beer bottle.
That's really good.
It is.
Honestly, that is the most useful.
Is there a BAFTA for that?
There should be.
You are prolific at doing that, aren't you?
We're great spades players.
No, you're really good on a jet ski.
Yes.
Such a Hollywood answer.
No, well, he is.
I wouldn't mention it if it wasn't true.
He's crazy good on a jet ski.
He's very good in a Porsche.
Very good in a Porsche.
No, he is.
Wait, are you joking?
Did I hit gold there?
Absolutely hit gold.
I've seen him drive a Porsche like he was a born race car driver.
I have.
Yeah, I'm a bit of an adrenaline junkie.
Most people don't expect that.
We may have almost died on the Holland Drive in a Porsche and that was...
Good times.
It was very safe.
We would have gone out late, but what a cool way to go.
Would it have been?
You were never in any danger.
I vote against it.
Were you on set, Rami, when they were singing?
Yeah, yes, I was.
Well, not when the three of you collectively were singing, but...
So embarrassing.
I know you're going to ask me to judge, but Christian, I thought, had a great voice.
He does.
Yeah, shockingly good.
Really good voice.
Christian just told me that Taylor Swift was in the room at the time.
Oh, no, that's her.
Because if you sing in front of Taylor Swift, you die, right?
I would have, thank God.
I didn't have to sing in front of Taylor.
That would have been...
I was embarrassed just to sing in front of the crew, really.
Sing a song.
It couldn't get more embarrassing.
Oh, no, that's not a...
Least of all pop stars, yeah.
It's not supposed to be perfect.
That's what Christian and David kept saying, and I was like, but I'm so embarrassed.
Yeah.
You have to allow me this, please.
Yeah.
Did you get particularly memorable director's notes on this film?
Because it's a 1930s kind of Nazi conspiracy.
It's like a perfectly unique film.
Were there moments where you were getting notes from David going,
well, I'll never hear that again?
Every single time I thought that.
Also, half the time I didn't understand what he was saying because he wore,
like you said, we shot this in 2021, he wore two masks, a face shield,
his glasses that he wears, so they're fogged up so he can't see, and a beekeeper's hat.
It's so hard to understand him when he's yelling direction through...
It was so muffled.
He was in an Iron Man suit going...
Literally, it was like...
You're like...
Why the beekeeper's hat, by the way?
I couldn't get to the moment of that.
It wasn't...
We went outside.
We were inside.
Memorable direction...
I wouldn't say it was memorable because it was so funny,
but he made me come in when we were in post-production to read 40 pages of dialogue.
I had no context, but you don't get context.
He's just like, come do this.
He handed me this thing.
He's like, I just want you to read this.
We're recording the audio.
I might use it to layer over whatever.
I started.
He's like, no, no, no, no.
More calm, relaxed.
And I was like, okay.
Did it get his...
No, no, no.
He's like, I want you to read it like you've just had three Xanaxes.
And I was like, okay, sure.
And I was like, that's going to take me about eight hours because there is so much,
like 20-something pages here.
And I was just like, I'll do it like that.
And in my head, I was like, it's going to be so boring.
He's never going to write this in the movie.
It's going to be so boring.
So I did it.
A couple of minutes in, he's gone.
I can see in my peripheral.
He's literally falling asleep.
And I go, David, do you want me to give it a little more energy?
And he's like, no, you're doing it perfectly.
And I was like, literally putting him to sleep.
And he's like doubling down on his direction.
He's like, no, it's exactly what I want.
And I was like, it's not what you wanted.
You are bored by this.
And so I did the whole thing until he was snoring.
He was asleep and snoring.
And I was like, David.
And I was like, you are literally asleep.
And he was like, no, I'm not.
And I'm like, I could hear you snoring.
He's like, I wasn't snoring.
I wasn't asleep.
And I was like, well, we have this recorded.
So let's play it back and hear if you were snoring.
He refused to give in and say that he fell asleep.
But he did.
I love the idea that he goes, oh, I really fancy a nap.
Could we get Marco in?
I felt like I was doing, you know, that car map with the bedtime stories.
Oh, right.
I felt like I was doing that, honestly.
Yeah.
Good luck topping that, by the way, Rami.
I just had Christopher Nolan on Oppenheimer tell him, ask me to be more boring.
Similar notes we're getting.
Yeah.
Are we just too exciting?
Yeah, is that what's going on?
We're just thrilling people too much?
Duller, Rami.
Duller.
Can you make it boring, he said.
We don't want the crowds of the audience enjoying this.
It's called Oppenheimer, come on.
It's coming out same day as Barbie.
Uh-oh.
Do you know that?
Yeah, you told me that.
I'm really looking forward to that double bill, though.
It's perfect.
Oh, I'm going to go in.
I'm going to go out.
I'm going to go right back in.
But which one's first?
What do you see first?
I think you've got to have your vegetables first.
Then you get your dessert.
And then you get your dessert.
So I'm going to go, obviously, to Barbie first.
You could also eat dessert twice.
Ah, the double Barbie.
That's good promo.
Very nice.
A phrase no one thought they'd ever say out loud.
Incredible.
I'll take the double Barbie.
I'll have a double Barbie, please.
Ah, yes, you're not the first person.
Yes, fine, absolutely.
No problem.
An Aussie would say that.
Nice.
Okay, I want to ask a couple of other classic me questions.
But what mementos have you taken home?
We've already talked about your Harley Quinn stuff.
But is there anything else that you've taken back?
Because with this, there's just a whole ton of props.
And the shrapnel art alone, you're like, blah, blah, blah.
Actually, David did give me one of the pieces of shrapnel art.
Did he?
Anything else?
Itonia ice skates I have.
Because they were literally, like, I bought them, trained in them,
then ended up wearing them in the movie.
And then afterwards, I was kind of like, also, I'm a producer.
So I'm the one that needs to archive all this stuff anyway.
It'd be a bit weird if you couldn't keep them.
Yeah.
They're ours now.
Yeah, they're ours.
Great answer.
I trained for Bohemian Rhapsody with the half mic
that we ended up using throughout the film.
So I had to have that.
Of course.
And that is, yeah, that's something I'll cherish forever.
I had a singlet that I wore on Neighbours until probably two years ago.
I mean, this singlet, I kept it.
And it had Donna written on the back, back at it.
And then after about 10 years, I was like,
I could just go buy a new singlet.
This is getting a bit ridiculous.
I like the idea of you wearing it.
So people would go, oh, you're that.
Oh, you're, oh.
I knew I knew from somewhere.
I knew I knew you.
It had Donna on the inside, by the way.
I didn't walk around with Donna.
I believe you.
My hoodie from Mr. Robot, too.
I had to have that.
Oh, that's good.
Well, it was originally mine to begin with.
So I had to take it back.
There it is.
I'll leave you this.
Who of anyone in this movie or generally is the worst making you crack up?
Who is the person where you go,
please don't let me do the scene again with them?
I can't handle it.
In this movie, easiest answer in the world.
When Mike Myers and Michael Shannon do their bird bit.
The cuckoo is in the nest and the cuckoo is about to be trapped.
Honestly, and they would do it all the time and it would go on.
They would improvise and they could do that for 20 minutes straight.
And J.D. and I, Christian's very professional.
He could, he managed to not break.
J.D. and I would be like snorting and crying.
We were laughing so hard.
The water in his face was enough for me.
You cheat.
You disgust me.
History will redeem me.
Not can it will.
Roma, who gets you going?
Look, on Bohemian, it was Mike Myers.
That guy.
He had us in stitches the whole time.
Scaramouche.
Galileo.
You know, that is Miller business.
Ish Miller.
Bismillah.
Oh, why?
It's different.
It's like you said, it's so hard not to break
because you want to preserve his performance
and you feel like you're doing him a disservice.
But it's impossible.
He's that, yeah.
And it's different every time, you know.
Yeah.
There's a reason you get Mike Myers.
And actually recently.
To entertain the cast.
Yes.
And he does in between takes everything.
He's just.
I would say Ryan Gosling's also my guy.
I was literally about to say on.
I've ruined half his takes on Barbie because I couldn't.
Really?
I mean, I couldn't not break.
He is secretly, secretly hysterical.
The most comedic actor I've ever worked with.
So dry.
So funny.
I must leave.
OK.
Guys, what a pleasure.
Our pleasure.
Until next time.
Thanks for watching.
