The legendary actress and a 5-time Tony winner performs one of the Stephen Sondheim's signature songs.
In 2009 she appeared in first Broadway revival of A Little Night Music as as Madame Armfeldt opposite Catherine Zeta-Jones as Desiree. Ms. Lansbury received her 7th Tony nomination for her performance in it.

Music was well into rehearsal when the composer was sitting in the back of the
theater watching the actors run through a scene. The main character was saying
goodbye to her lover. As she left she suddenly raised her hand in a gesture of
farewell. What Stephen Sondheim saw in that unexpected movement was a life for
the character that he'd never known before and he went home that night and
started to work. And out of that one small gesture he found a moment that
would touch the world forever.
Isn't it rich?
Are we a pair?
Me here at last on the ground
You in midair
Where are the clowns?
Send in the clowns
Just when I'd stopped
Opening doors
Finally knowing the one that I wanted
Was yours
Making my entrance again
With my usual flair
Sure of my life
No one is there
Isn't it rich?
Isn't it queer?
Losing my timing this late
In my career
And where are the clowns?
There ought to be clowns
Well, maybe next year
