From a young age, Jill possessed a beautiful appearance—tall, attractive, with the potential to become a model, which was her dream. After finishing high school, she moved to France to chase this dream. At 20, in 1980, she got signed by Wilhelmina Models agency. Jill became quite popular and was a familiar face in French Vogue and Marie Claire editorials. Being a model was a fantastic opportunity for an ordinary girl from a simple family to succeed and make good money. However, soon, her life would take a complete 180-degree turn. Working as a model brought incredible opportunities for the girl: not just to earn money, but also to explore the world and meet some of the most influential people. Once, she accompanied her agent to a party in Monte Carlo, where she encountered Adnan Khashoggi. Initially, Jill didn't know who he was. It wasn't until they shared a romantic dance that she was informed about his identity. After the dance, Adnan rolled up her shirtsleeve, revealing her fore-arm, and wrote "I love you" in his own blood. For the young and somewhat naive 20-year-old woman, this unusual gesture of affection would lead her to fall in love. Adnan Khashoggi reached the pinnacle of his wealth in the 1980s and was often regarded as the wealthiest man globally. His fortune was estimated to be around $4 billion during that time. Born in Mecca to the personal doctor of the Saudi king, Muhammad Khashoggi, Adnan received his education at American universities, including Chico State, and Stanford. During the period he met Jill, Adnan was married to an Italian woman named Laura Biancolini, who converted to Islam and adopted the name Lamia Khashoggi. They met when she was seventeen, and together they had a son. Adnan also had five children from a previous marriage to Englishwoman Sandra Daly, who similarly converted to Islam and became Soraya Khashoggi. However, in 1974, He suddenly divorced her without her knowledge. Adnan was a born seducer; he knew how to charm and attract a woman, even when his appearance didn't work in his favor. He was a short, bald, and slightly obese man. However, Jill was immediately captivated, stating she had never encountered a man like him. After their first meeting, they spent a week in his mansion in Spain horse riding. Following that, Khashoggi invited her to join him on his yacht.
