Alexandra Popp – Player of the Match – Germany v Nigeria

What was decisive in the game? Was there a key moment? Difficult to say. I think that the first goal gave us a bit of peace and security at the beginning of the game. But then we lost the thread a bit. We let Nigeria come a bit too much for our goal. But nevertheless, the back team acted really well. They blocked every ball and threw themselves in everywhere. And then in the second half, I think the team's sovereignty really came into play. And that was incredibly important. And then with the third goal, it actually put a lid on it. Great backdrop here and quarter-final entry. What would you say to little girls who were sitting in front of the goal or in the stadium who want to step into the footsteps? Basically, I would say to train a lot. Unfortunately, you also have to set a few priorities. But nevertheless, fun and passion have to be in the foreground. Without that, you can't play football. Thank you.
