Scarlett Johansson wins the Leading Actress award in 2004
They all deserve it but the BAFTA goes not for a girl with a pearl earring but for her
performance in Lost in Translation. Scarlett Johansson. Oh my god um this was really unexpected
um um I I would like to um thank the British Academy for recognizing me as a 19 year old
American actress. Um it's such an honor to be here and um first and foremost I'd like to thank
Sofia Coppola for writing and directing incredible film that I'm so proud to be a part of and um
to Ross Katz and um and everybody at Universal Focus for working so hard to get people to see
this movie. Um to my agent Scott Lambert who I unfortunately love um very much and um to
mostly um my mother um Melanie for um supporting me and for um being there for me and taking me to
auditions um and buying me hot dogs afterwards um and I I know I'm forgetting oh and to Bill Murray
for um for being on the other side of the camera um thank you very much it is an honor.
