[Music] morning and welcome to the 10 Acre Woods no my wife Tara yeah mark my wife wait wait no I'm Tara and my husband Mark Mark here and my wife Tara and welcome to the 10 Acre Woods uh it is uh a little hazy today we've had some forest fires up North so it's kind of yellow and uh a yellow fil kids are kids in their filters nowadays right we just use the all natural yeah um so Tara you were working out here and you ran across a snake Den uh before the wedding we were first spping right and and she found a snake Den uh garter snake Den we don't have venomous snakes that I know of we've had garter snakes in the past like we had a garter snake Den up well the very first one that we found was under that Big Pine Tree that fell over you had some in the garden we had and I've had them in the garden and I've had babies in the garden and didn't have any babies in the garden this year I love garter snakes and then they used to always be in my Greenhouse but now I've actually found a den that they can stay in forever okay and it is underneath this rock pile so this rock pile's been here wow uh ever since the beginning I guess that was septic so those were the rocks from the septic yeah so that would have been 2001 so 23 years they've been here yeah so I had rocks so as I and it was long grass but before the wedding I cut it back you can see oh yeah so there's a snake skin Oh I ripped it off so there's a snake skin there was a snake skin out here there's a snake skin there yeah another snake skin here and when I was whippers snipping this is where I stopped cuz there was about five or six uh you know 1T long which means yearlings right so this is like it's a huge and it's h in there yeah I guess that would make a good uh a good den a small Den view in here it's a like it's really it's there's some really good Hollows in there so but with the snake skins in the area as well so that's awesome yeah you can see there's okay not quite as big as narcissi is am I saying that right narcissi narcissist n narcis n yeah so the snake skins are cool and seeing them but they were all in this area and they all scattered when I started whippers snipping I didn't get one I checked nothing got whippers snipped and then we saw just before the wedding we saw one uh crawling across freak that lady out that was visiting oh really and that one was a larger injured one narcy Manitoba is um home to the world's largest gathering of garter snakes the dens are quite large they're natural kind of um cutout or sink holes I guess would be a better uh explanation of it and every spring the um they become active they come across from all over I guess in the Prairies and they come back to their birthplace their home their den and then there's the whole mating ritual and there are garter snakes everywhere uh but anyway it sounds like the animals are yeah they're waiting actually it's funny here I'm going to go this way you go that way just to get a different look cuz they know Tara's routine and it's to come over there so they all wait at this [Applause] gate well hello good morning where's Mama they know the routine all the geese the Ducks they're like yeah food comes from this area [Music] [Applause] go py and Piper right in there grass update no it's see better well we're going to add a dark roof so yeah it's a little patchy yeah we've ordered the steel um and it's come in hasn't it yes yeah so we've ordered the steel for the top of this we're going to remove the poly uh and then we're going to put steel roof on the roof uh the walls are still going to be open and then I think we're just going to poly the walls correct yeah yeah yeah that will be a project uh in the coming weeks oh I can I can hear Charlie already good morning geese good morning what just eat don't have to like look at Sebastian Sebastian's nice he's just hanging out I don't know what he's doing now he's got got something on his brain he's like I want to get away from these loud geese I'm going to go eat over here see what you did yeah you're just too loud oh Charlie oh and the pigeons hang it out up on the proof Charles Charles we met somebody um that actually has a pig named Charlie as well oh good boy yes you sit down uh so Charlie is um one of the ones going to the movie Shoot uh so I told you about a movie Shoot uh with happening next week uh and uh Charlie's coming out we've got some goats uh we've got a donkey uh from another Farm High snow yeah nothing happening yet just wait for it Charlie's like the [Music] alarm oh well that's one way to do it oh you duckling where's your mama oh quiet yeah the four new Runners oh right yes you did mention they're funny ducks aren't they so it's a dad a mom and two babies okay so the two babies I guess are the yellower ones so but there's oh what are you doing where's your mama here yeah Coco Coco's out here no of all the ones that are like like spoiled bre like like puff spoil brat your mama's out here spoiled princesses or whatever princesses pop is a spoiled princess she's right there she's eating she doesn't care she's not even answering you her mouth's full there was a baby we went to the petting farm yesterday and uh beautiful beautiful town uh just south of uh tree herd oh way out there oh it was far oh yeah uh 2hour Drive yeah but you know what to be to be a part of this town and go into this town I feel uh not um I'd have to look it up markco look it up and put it on the the the name of the town name of the town okay cuz it's a French town I don't remember okay um but there was a we were in there of course we took all the babies and whatnot and there was a baby crying way over in the park right and we've said since since day one that puff sounds like a baby the baby's crying so sets puff off and then all the goats start going because puff thinks it's his her mom like it so every time this kid would cry in the park puff would go off and it was just like and then Sheldon with his Rock he loves this rock don't you bud lip comes out oh you know we do have a um a brush a push Brom brush inside in one of the pens we should probably bring one out here but you know he he's got this uh thing for this rock so it may not uh it may not be suitable for him okay puff you all right you found your mama yeah okay good so Puff's mama is Coco which is behind Charlie here and so it's Cocoa Puff I didn't get that until a couple times in I'm like oh cocoa P oh I get I get what you did there and you can see the green on their horns um what they do I don't know they're sharpening them or whatever but the bottom of this building here they go up and they they rub their horns some of them have some don't uh these ones look it's usually the uh looks like oh allly uh yeah food aggress aggression oh there's another one uh yeah so the uh the runners they're running from me let's see how close we can uh we can get to them yeah it looks like there's two that are more yellow they're uh probably the young uh the one with the green beak on this side is likely the male and the far one is likely the female wow they yeah they can run oh puff so needy there we go oh trip oh yeah yeah see the one with a green beak here is don't run over your child is uh is making the um the raspy noise which is the male and the quack is the female Toby yeah get away from the dog Turbo's still hanging out by the door trying to trying to get something else onx and Tucker come on Taco mon he's cute don't don't sit along they know exactly where to go that onx just wanders onx onx see she knows onx not Shel onx that way good girl yeah she turned exactly when you said her name her name it's just but I got to be louder I'm not yelling at her well and you've got two old folks homes today you're going to right yeah are you taking you're not taking Tucker are you oh you are okay yeah Tucker does well there Tucker you're taking perthus perthus perthus per percus percus and uh rabbits and some rabbits okay yeah they're ni cuz they can sit on the senior's laps well yeah well not Tucker especi well yeah percus uh for sure cuz he's so small and just handled Tucker's just entertainment yeah no for sure he uh he's a cutie he doesn't do much get in the middle ands well and a lot of uh people in Old Folks homes uh have come from farms right yeah so you know there's uh some old uh farm farm women there and Men you know that uh men it's men is it well there's been a number of uh women that I've yeah I know but it's the uh it just brings them back to the root men it's the one it just you know if they haven't smiled in a while it makes them smile it makes them giddy it makes them like it just brings back memories right uh the texture the feel of the animal doesn't matter what animal it is soon as they start like they touch yeah it's just it's it's amazing brings them back to when they were a child running from the little sheep right or like a cow farmer right like they they're not like an old like an old traditional cow farmer and I could be wrong aren't out there petting the animals do you know what I mean like they're cow Farmers but as soon as they touch a cow yeah wow it just brings them back you know like it's I I still I say every every Senior's home or uh older living facility I say all of them need an animal Courtyard you know a courtyard with animals you know where they can go out and get collect eggs who well especially ones out in the country maybe not well no but they're in the city like like uh what was that one that one guy that was uh they came out here and he was an old cow farmer and we had a baby calf at the time and they they came here and totally totally didn't talk totally like like nonverbal just shut down in the chair and then his niece or great niece great great niece said he used to be a cow farmer and I ah okay and this was a bottle-fed calf that we had and I guided the I didn't say anything I just took the calf out and gave him his hand and the calf started sucking on this guy's hand like I mean he's in a chair like I mean he's not doing anything but as soon as that calf started sucking on his finger he lit up and she couldn't believe it that it was just that so simple and he was like I know what that is it's like it and he didn't see it coming right yeah but he knew and I mean when you know like yeah it's she cow was what do you want oh puff waits for hay too oh maybe that's what she wants and Holly they like the hay it's their first thing to go to uh what what is that I don't know what jazz is doing he's maybe he's waiting for hay too so there we go see puff and eie yeah yeah and she jumps right in the top of it yeah that's what she's waiting for yeah she doesn't care about mama she wants she wants you the other mama with the hay the hey mama mama hey mama hi Mama just taking the kids out for a bath there's a new mom yeah there's what two ducklings three are they on this side oh yeah so this is one from this crew and there's a newbie there um oh there's Mama over there okay and there's the other two there's the other two up on shore there and there's mama and of course this one has wandered oh actually it's not that one making a noise it's this one that's wandered like the nois is changing direction your mama's over here there's Gwen Gwen's had some uh people coming some people listen to me some people she's had some visitors uh other geese and uh we uh we see them kind of come in and out yeah this one's confused you lost your mama oh there we go found the fam now they're all back together again oh wellow actually there's a bunch over there now ignore it terra's busy you're feeding twitch what oh the dust like usually my Barn's so much cleaner but I've been really well and this has been a busy uh well it's not over yet uh busy time with the uh the movie Shoot we're doing next week so we've got the animals going in there so that apparently the movie will be released next August oh so it's a quite way so we can't tell anything until well I don't think like I haven't seen a non-disclosure agreement um but everybody's talking about the movie they know the movie is there and it's advertised because they just sent it out on Facebook that there'll be loud noises oh okay and the new so then we can say the movie the movie is nobody to nobody to yeah um so the first movie was filmed in Winnipeg we just can't give any uh and this one of course is being filmed yeah it's been all over the news so we can say what it is yeah we just I'll try to get footage but on you have to ask on the call sheet it says absolutely no video or photography unless you talk to a production manager so I'm going to try to talk to production and see if I can at least get some photo or video of the setup and say to let them know that you won't release it until August either well that they they they wouldn't go with that they're then they tell everybody and they got so many people out there yeah I'll just say you know as long as you know I I'm just taking footage of our setup nothing of the actual filming yeah so because that's probably the more important we'll see we'll see what happens we'll see what I Rod's in there and andyy yeah they were pooping everywhere over oh yes my floor looks like oh yeah this is just Penny because penny is uh special spoiled spoiled Billy how are you doing buddy don't no comment all right I see there is Meadow and Levi Levi is right over there I'm downwind it is the season yeah smelly Billy Billy is it the season he just lifts his lip Billy yeah yeah you can smell it's not quite as strong he's working on it working on his cologne and his strut obviously yeah there he goes oh Billy Oh Billy so something uh over the last year you've probably noticed I have a growth on my eye here uh so it's kind of come and gone over the past year um and if any of you were wondering what that is it's it's not really a skin tag but it's like a little growth it's can be a little annoying at times but uh I've had it frozen off by my doctor three times I think already uh but it kind of keeps on coming back I do have a appointment with uh specialist here in Manitoba but unfortunately there's only two specialist Specialists and they only work like two days a week or something uh it's kind of ridiculous but Healthcare in Canada is free but you have to wait right so I could go in and I guess set up an appointment and pay for the surgery but it's not that bad so next week I'm getting it frozen again with liquid nitrogen but when I'm there I'm going to tell them can we do a follow up something a doctor should really tell you you know oh come back and see me in two weeks right and we'll we'll reassess but no so I think I'm going to have to do that so next week they're going to freeze it most of it's going to fall off there's still going to be a little nub there and if I wait um then uh it's going to grow back so go back in a second time get it frozen again maybe we can get it done before I have to see The Specialist or I just keep the appointment with the specialist and go in and he can reassess it at that time I don't know but it's like a year to a year and a half for a specialist to to get an appointment and there's no appointment on the books they just said well we'll contact you when we can make an appointment so all right and so so that's my my little friend what I like to call the I guess my third nipple or my eye nipple or whatever you want to call it ah just things you have to live with as you get older I guess so here it is this is what 10.5 kilow of solar energy looks like uh so we've had these poles in for some time they finally last week got the uh the rest of the racking up and the panels so it's not tied in quite yet uh but uh we're waiting actually that is the end of next week uh it will be uh it will be tied in so now as the sun gets lower uh we anticipated we were going to have to remove the trees up to that pile right there and uh yesterday afternoon I noticed that a couple of these trees were starting to shade down right here so as the sun goes down there's going to be a point where the leaves start to fall and then it won't be an issue so we'll take down a few trees there and then I think we need to take a few trees down kind of over here up to I don't think we need to really worry about that one too much cuz the sun will have set kind of behind the panels at that point but we'll uh we'll make tweaks so that we can maximize uh our energy and I am making a video on this start to finish uh which should be maybe in about a month's time I'll have that all finished up once everything's hooked up I've got a bunch of footage and time lapse of the installation of it and then we'll see uh how it looks and then next year next end of September I guess we'll call it after we've got 12 months under our belt uh we will um you know give you an update as to uh you know the first 12 months what uh what it looks like so we've got a bunch of micro inverters here and then they go down into these controllers that are all all along and then there's two arrays so there's this side and that side and they come through uh down and into the two wires here uh which then go into the disconnect so we've got two Breakers two 25 amp Breakers there and then they feed into this one here uh which is a 50 amp uh and then from here comes out the bottom and uh we figure it'll go across here we're going to have to pull up the gravel here that's another thing we're going to have to do in the next couple days so that they can trench across here Tara's already kind of pulled up this in her garden it comes across into here uh we'll pull out a couple of these blocks here or we might even go here might be nice and easy because it uh it tapers down there it looks like it needs a little work anyway uh and then the cut off box we figure will be right there on the wall it has to be readily accessible uh in case there's an emergency so looks like the sheep have decided to uh foro the hay and uh come out and get some greens uh we've got this uh smart fence up from Gallagher that we had put up uh it's kind of over on the corner there and it's uh it goes around it's not energized it's just kind of a visual keep the animals out of the work area which I guess we could take down now cuz we're going to be using it over where we do the trench between the poles so um not taking it down yet not taking it down yet okay they have to wire in there well they have to wire here but that's true yeah they do have to trench along the inside of this yeah yeah Tara's right Tara knows the plan so um something else that happened is um you'll notice Jasper isn't in the uh yard uh Jasper we did have to make the hard decision uh put him down um he was the last of the alpaca um so he was out there I think it was last weekend um or last week beginning of last week somewhere around there uh Tiana went out to feed and he he had rolled over on the side and he couldn't get up and then she tried to get up and she did get him up and and he kind of rolled over we knew this was coming uh it was just a matter of time I brought it up in in other videos um you know you have to do what's best for the animal uh he was uh yeah he wasn't too and too good he fell in the pond a couple weeks back or a month back um so it was just he was on Watch and uh uh quality of life is what we look for here and his quality had gone downhill and um it was just a matter of time you can't stand up can't eat properly get your water um so we made the decision so Jasper yeah uh we made the decision to put him down and uh our thoughts will be with him and he will be remembered so anyway that is it for this video uh I will give you an update on the uh the movie next week hopefully maybe we'll see what I can show can't promise anything um but that's it so nobody 2 is the video they've been filming
