The city of Pintia is located in the eastern side of the Valladolid province, between the towns of Padilla de Duero/ Peñafiel and Pesquera de Duero, on both sides of the Duero River.
The Pintia Archaeological Area, measuring around 125 hectares, offers an enormous cultural landscape that spans more than 1,000 years of historical evolution. It was dominated by three cultures: Vaccean, Roman and Visigoth, although the pre-Roman people, during the final four centuries BC, were the most important for the area.
