It took me 57 hours to complete Black Monkey.
The scenes of Xiao Xitian and Huangmei's old monster BOSS battle at the shrine and the fourth sister being captured are surprisingly familiar.
So after checking, it turned out that the filming location included Baoen Temple in Pingwu County, Sichuan.
By coincidence, I took a quick trip to Baoen Temple two years ago and was amazed by the exquisite nanmu mortise-and-tenon structure and statues in the temple.
The most impressive thing is the 5-ton nanmu prayer wheel in the temple, which can still rotate normally to this day.
The carvings on the prayer wheel are like the towers of a palace in the sky, which became the prototype of the shrine where Xiao Xitian Wukong shrinks and fights Huang Mei in the Black Monkey.
The "Tianwang Hall" where the fourth sister was taken away to make elixirs has been almost completely restored to the Tianwang Hall of Baoen Temple.
I think the production team of Black Monkey chose this place as a filming location because they understand the subtleties of ancient Chinese architecture.

There is another interesting legend about Baoen Temple:
It is said that when it was first built, it was a small-scale restoration based on the specifications of the Forbidden City in the Ming Dynasty.
However, after the construction was completed, it was reported to the court as something arrogant because it looked too much like a royal palace.
For this reason, Wang Xi, the local official at the time, quickly changed its name to "Baoen Temple" in order to repay the favor of the court, so he escaped the disaster.

This video was shot 2 years ago. It was a random shoot and was not considered to be a video.
I don’t want to leave it to chance, but today I remade it into an HDR version and gave it to everyone, just to increase the popularity!
