The clock is ticking for Arsenal Football Club,
Mikel Arteta and Edu to bring in a versatile attacking player
to ease the burden on our existing options and to give us a collective boost
in our pursuit of Prem, Champions League, FA Cup
and any other Cups that we're participating in and get over the line.
We need to get deals done.
We've done all right where the outgoings are concerned.
That process is still underway and there's still twists and turns
to be said in that regard.
We finally got Mikel Moreno over the line,
as did we do with Ricardo Calafoury.
But is that enough?
Where Moreno and Calafoury are concerned, hopefully they're stable pillars
and they can give us a lot on that left-hand side
because we was lopsided last season.
I think every Arsenal fan in an ideal world would like a striker and an attacker.
But with the market in relation to strikers either proving too expensive
or no attacking option in that regard is really convincing.
Do we need a versatile attacker that can play on the left
and potentially deputise for Bakayo Saka when he needs a rest?
Surely we sign another attacker.
As I said at the time of making this video, the time is ticking, people.
We let Fabio Vieira leave.
We let Smith Rowe leave.
Eddie Nketiah is in the process of leaving and rumours with Reece Nelson remain.
Now, granted, all of these players were on the peripheral things
at Arsenal Football Club.
But in terms of depth and bodies, we've left ourselves short.
And you're hoping that there is no injuries to Bakayo Saka, to Kai Havertz,
to Martinelli or Chossa or even Gabriel Jesus,
who at the time of making this vid is still persisting with injury issues.
In that regard, we've been linked with Ademola Lukman for the last few days.
Time is running out.
Should we move for him?
Can we move for him?
Would we actually be able to prize him away?
When you look at Ademola Lukman, the Nigerian international
who obviously, you know, grew up in England and grew up in London,
he's had an unconventional route into the game.
He's found his feet at Atalanta after times at Everton,
at Fulham, coming through at Charlton, playing for Leipzig,
playing in a lot of divisions.
And at 26, turning 27, has the penny dropped?
Is he entering his prime?
And is he able to bring something to Arsenal Football Club?
We all saw the three goals he got in the Europa League final.
We all know the season he's coming off the back of at Atalanta.
And it's probably his best period to date as a pro footballer.
He's a key player for club and country and he's doing his thing.
It still appears that Paris Saint-Germain are the front runners for his signature people.
But allegedly, Arsenal, as well as other clubs, are in the hunt.
And I believe at 26, he's in his physical prime.
He's an all-round attacking player who has the qualities required
to thrive in the modern day in such position.
I mean, Atalanta do not play the same way of football as Arsenal.
They've shown they can play in the back three, etc.
But Gasparini is an experienced manager who plays exciting football,
presses quite high and all of those intangibles that you obviously see
at Arsenal Football Club.
So there's an element, I guess, of transferable skills.
I do believe he provides creativity.
You know, when running from deep, he's very good on the transition.
He could enable us to run and hit teams on the counterattack.
He's got blistering pace.
He's a showman and got fantastic technical qualities.
His ball retention is good.
His passing consistently across 90 minutes could improve.
But ultimately, I think he's active on and off the ball.
He scores quite high for pressing play with a number of recoveries
and ultimately he's a high energy player.
And he'd also count as homegrown, I guess.
It's his ability to open up spaces and create chances.
He makes great runs off the ball, which teammates could exploit.
He enters the penalty box, opposition penalty box or opposition box
in an exceptional rate.
He might not be strong at winning the ball in aerial drills,
considering his height, but he's more than capable of finishing chances.
And he's fairly cool and calm and collected in front of
in front of the opposition box and goalkeeper, if I'm honest.
Naturally, there's all a lot of areas for him to improve.
But I think naturally he's a fairly rounded attacking player
and would bring something to Arsenal.
Admittedly, I'm like 80 percent convinced.
But the more I look into it,
the more I think he would be a solid player for us people.
He's good at creating chances.
He'll take opportunities.
You know, again, he shows an ability to use both feet.
You know, he's obviously starting to chip in with goals.
He's an excellent performer off the left hand side,
which obviously could be great, again, in terms of adding stability
with California, Mikel Moreno and other options people.
He's also shown in the last season for Atalanta
that he's an excellent shooter from long distance and capable of moments of magic.
You know, I think we would have seen in the Champions League
we didn't really have players to the standard we want
that could make something out of nothing.
Of course, we have a couple of those, but we need more really
and truly to make those differences where you look at the December period
where if we could have just turned one of those defeats into a draw,
one of those draws into a victory, where would we have been?
What would we have been celebrating in May?
I think he's decent, man.
I think he's got above all, I think he's got the humility.
You know, I think he's got, you know, looking at his life.
He's had, you know, he had to come from non-league.
He came through at Charlton, as I said, Fulham and Everton spells,
as well as Leipzig, weren't necessarily good for him.
And now he's found his feet,
which has been a theme of some of our already existing options.
And he's also shown that he can thrive in a bunch of different systems
and team collective ethoses, as well as playing in different countries.
And he would count as homegrown, which makes a lot of sense.
People, he's highly effective in creating goal scoring opportunities
from the left wing.
His performances in the left half space have been outstanding as well.
People, I don't think, you know, ironically, I would prefer to put him on the right.
But I actually think there's quite a contrast between his play on the left
and his play on the right slash central zones.
But he does have versatility.
I mean, what's there not to like?
He's great in the half space.
He can score goals, can take on a man, very versatile, got a level of experience,
counts as homegrown, very good ball carrier, good ball retention standards, really.
What is there not to like? Fantastic link-up play.
And I'm a big believer of ballers can always play with ballers.
And he's now starting to make the decisive moments.
The man got not one, not two, but three Europa League final goals,
which shows he's going down his history.
You know, you look at his back-to-back races against,
forgive me for mispronunciations,
but Sal Rattina, Spezia and Juventus, they're displaying that not only consistency,
but high levels of making the difference.
And Arsenal need difference makers.
We need versatile attackers.
We need a stronger collective arsenal, ironically, of attacking options.
And he would provide that.
He's contracted until 2026.
You would imagine Atalanta are trying to get him to sign a new deal
or they would look to sell him.
Of course, the next 12 to 18 months are very vital where his future is concerned.
In conclusion, for me, I don't think we'll move for him.
I think we're probably 80 to 90 percent convinced on him, not necessarily 100.
I think he'll cost a bit, probably too dear,
owing to the fact that an English club is trying to buy him.
And also because time is running out for Atalanta to find an option
and likewise for Arsenal to find alternatives if we haven't.
I do think trials and tribulations in life make you who you are.
And that's obviously going to put him in good stead
because there's a lot of relatability that some players in our team have already.
I like his pressing.
I like his versatility.
I like his attitude and wanting to thrive.
When you look into his life, he's changed, actually, his dieting habits
and all of the things that you do off the field that contribute on the field.
And now he's obviously he's been a grown man for a few years.
But in football terms, you're 26.
It's now or never.
This is for you to make your mark.
And again, you'd also count as homegrown.
One of my problems is not to get at the Italian league.
But I do think there's a theme of players who haven't necessarily done anything
of any note in other leagues or players that are of retirement age
or players that are considered past it, especially the attacking players.
They go to the Italian league and it's like they can't stop scoring goals,
even if they wanted to.
So is there a bit of Serie A tax?
If I'm completely honest, is there something?
And likewise, where you look at his statistics, you know,
obviously in the Serie A division, in the Italian game for Atalanta,
there's quite the contrast with all of his other clubs.
But, you know, in his output, it's crazy.
You know, I mean, 24 goals in 16 assists in 62 Serie A appearances
is enough to water anyone's appetite for an attacking player.
But is this a purple patch or has he gone up the levels and he's now here to thrive?
These are questions I can't really answer.
But if it was up to me, I don't think he's necessarily the best option
with all of the Nico Williams or something of that ilk.
But I think he's a quality player.
And with time running out,
if there's a willingness from all parties concerned to get a deal done,
then for me, we should do it.
