ROME ITALY VLOG: exploring the city, eating pasta & trying all the desserts

We are in Rome, Italy. I am so happy to be here. We got here this morning around 10 a.m. and it is 7 p.m. right now, so we've been here for a few hours. I didn't vlog because we were just so busy. We checked into our Airbnb and then we had to go straight to the Colosseum tour because our tickets were for today at 11. So we got here at 10, got to our Airbnb, hurried up, got ready, changed, and then went to the Colosseum. That was a three-hour tour of like a guide all through the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill and it was actually such a cool experience. We learned so much new history that we didn't even know. And just to catch you up some more, after that, we walked back to our Airbnb, which we're right by the Trevi Fountain, and the Colosseum and Trevi Fountain are about 20 minutes away. So we tried some food, I tried some pastries, I also got some gelato, and both of those were super good. We were so tired after we did that, we came back here and took a nap because we had been up for 24 hours and we were like, we're just going to take a nap and then wake up when it's dinnertime. So now here we are, dinnertime, going to go find a pasta restaurant. This was my first outfit of the day for Rome, this like vest shirt with matching linen shorts. It is super hot here, so hopefully now that it's a little bit later it won't be as hot today because we were sweating, I couldn't even wear my hair down. Okay here you can see a better look at my outfit, it is super cute! I love it, I think it is perfect, and with it being a tank top and shorts and like lightweight and like loose shorts, it helps me feel better when it's super hot out. We are walking to go get our pasta now, I am so excited! And I just love these streets so much, the streets of Rome are just so historic, it's just so stunning. First day in Rome, complete, was a success, we did a lot of walking, more than usual but it was worth it and it was fun. Just gotten our PJs and showered and now we're ready for bed, but we're so excited to have our first like full morning here tomorrow and go get a cappuccino or some type of coffee and breakfast in the morning and have another full day of exploring, goodnight! Good morning, it is day 2 in Rome now, we just woke up super late today, it is already noon, I don't even know how we slept in that long, we slept for like 12 hours, but we're getting ready, trying to be super quick so we can go and grab some breakfast and get our day started. We have a full day today in Rome and then tomorrow we just have the morning because we'll head to Naples for a day in the afternoon. We have less time in Rome than we actually anticipated for because our flight on the way to Rome leaving from Wilmington, our flight from Wilmington to New York which is where our layover was, got delayed and delayed because of the weather and then the flight ended up being cancelled. We ended up having to get new flights and arriving here a day later, which really sucks but we're trying to just make the most of it. I finished getting ready, I got on this white dress and I curled my hair a little bit even though it's probably gonna fall out. Here is a closer look, I think it's so cute and I'm trying my sandals today, walking in them. Hopefully it doesn't hurt my feet. Now we gotta go get some food. Our next stop was an espresso martini for him and he loves it. He thinks it's so funny, but he rated it a 9 out of 10, he said he loves it. We're at this cute little cafe. Gelato from this place, it is so good. I'm about to get it on my dress but I got chocolate chip flavor. We've been walking around and shopping and now we stopped at this wine. It's super cute in here, I love the vibes. I ordered a water and it's so funny like when you order water the bottles it comes in. He ordered a rum and coke and it's so cute, it comes like a little, with a coke bottle and you pour it yourself. Tastes better? We made it to dinner, we're at, I think it's really good, I like it better than the Aperol Spritz's pasta. We both got carbonero pasta, I love the pasta with the bacon. Back at our Airbnb, hot and sweaty from the day. It wasn't too bad at night time but it is so hot here in Rome, so all day. I just feel like we've been sweating but it's been so much fun. We got dinner, dessert and walked around and now we're gonna get ready for bed. We're so tired from today and our feet hurt from walking like 20,000 steps. But we're gonna wake up in the morning tomorrow, get breakfast and coffee and then we have our little train ride to Naples tomorrow. I'll see you in the morning. I'm so excited to try some breakfast and try some coffee. The ordering coffee is like a whole lot different here than in the United States so I'm hoping that I order it right and say the right terminology because they are completely different. We had such a yummy breakfast at the cutest cafe and the coffee was actually way better than I expected so I was really happy about that. Now off to Naples. We arrived in Naples and checked into our Airbnb. We're only here for one night. It is already 3 p.m. and then we leave at 7 a.m. in the morning. So a really quick trip. So we're gonna do just a little bit of exploring tonight, this afternoon. Probably coming early though since we do have to wake up but here is our Airbnb. This is the bathroom. It is pretty small and tiny. Literally just the bathroom, this little balcony out here and then this is the bed, kitchen. So yeah, pretty small. It is just an apartment down one of the little streets. I'm still wearing my same outfit I was wearing this morning in Rome but I'm honestly just gonna keep it on because it's super comfy and we're not gonna be out for too long. Probably just a couple hours if that. We're gonna go grab some pizza and stroll down the streets. Hopefully we like it here. I feel like Naples, Italy is a very, very diverse opinions on if people like it or not. I know I said I was staying in the same outfit but I actually changed. I'm wearing this blue mini dress. I actually matched the bathroom. How cute. Scolding hot outside so I'm wearing my hair up. This has been the look for most of the time here. David is getting his shoes cleaned because we're wearing white shoes and they get really, really dirty here on this cobblestone. But we're starving so actually time to go now. After pizza you always need gelato. We got tiramisu gelato to share. That has been our go-to flavor while we're here. Looks good. We came back to the Airbnb so early today because we have to get up at like 5.30 to go to the ferry in the morning to head to the next island which will be in my next vlog so stay tuned. But we got some pastries to take home. I got a chocolate one and then I got, I'm gonna guess vanilla because it's white icing. I honestly don't even know. I like it but I wish it was a little bit softer. It's from Leopoldo in Naples. Is it good? Like look at all that chocolate.
