Woohoohoo!
You must have whipped cream on top.
Buongiorno!
I'm still in Italy, this time in Rome.
And in this episode I have the king of Rome and street food for you guys.
So can I have the classic souffle?
Two!
Buongiorno!
Souffle, the legendary street food item from Rome.
It comes in a range of fillings.
This one is the classic.
So we have rice, tomato, cheese and meat.
This souffle costs one and a half euro.
And I bought them at Souffle Roma, which is very popular around here.
So let's see if we can resemble the cord of the telephone with the mozzarella here.
Or as they say in Italy, souffle al telefono.
This souffle is packed with goodness.
It's very heavy and dense.
Okay, so let's try it.
That tomato sauce, wow!
Souffle al telefono.
So that was the king of Rome and street food, souffle.
If you ever go to Rome, you should try it, for sure.
Thinking about Italy, there is one dessert that comes to mind.
And it's tiramisu.
So can I have the classic tiramisu?
Yeah, it's a true Italian classic.
I have it here. I bought it at Pompi.
They are known for having a really good tiramisu.
And you get it in this packaging.
It feels kind of exclusive, actually.
Fluffy, elegant, rich, refined, creamy, intense and simply amazing.
This is the iconic coffee-flavored Italian dessert, tiramisu.
Generally, it's made of coffee-dunked ladyfingers,
layered with a silky-smooth mascarpone cheese filling
and sprinkled with cacao powder.
The origin of this classic Italian dessert is not Rome,
but it's the most popular dessert in the capital city, for sure.
You will likely find it in every restaurant and pastry shop.
Pompi is known for having a fantastic tiramisu.
And you have different creative versions to choose from, too.
My second favorite is pistachio.
Enough, let's dive right into this epicness here.
I must admit, I don't drink coffee, I don't like coffee,
but I like coffee-flavored sweet stuff.
So let's try this huge chunk of tiramisu.
This is so delicious.
I'm shaking, so excited.
So the coffee flavor is very rich, and the sweetness is just perfect.
And then you get these small pieces of chocolate on the top.
So this is the normal portion, and it costs 4 euros.
We have a ton of calories here.
So here you can see the layers.
There you have it, guys.
There's one dessert in Italy to try, and it's tiramisu.
Imagine you're going to Rome,
and you really want to try the Italian frozen dessert, gelato.
You also know that Rome has a ton of tourists,
which means there's also a ton of overpriced gelato shops.
You want that local vibe and feel?
I got you. Follow me.
And then we have gelato, the legendary Italian-styled ice cream.
You will find gelato in every corner all over Italy,
and you can sample some of the best in Rome, actually.
If I were to recommend only one gelateria, the Italian word for ice cream shop,
I would say Gelateria Fassi.
This huge ice cream shop is more like a palace.
It's off the beaten track, which means less tourists and reasonable prices.
Different from regular ice cream, gelato contains less cream and more milk,
and less air is whipped into it.
The result is a much more dense and rich flavor.
Gelato is also served at a slightly warmer temperature,
giving it a more smooth and creamy texture.
The gelato you will find at Fassi has been refined for ages,
and you have a ton of flavors to choose from.
To all ice cream lovers, this one is for you.
So I got this brandy here, and it's only 3 euros.
My gelato is melting right now, so I need to film this quick.
The flavors I got is...
And then they ask you if you want whipped cream on top.
You must have whipped cream on top.
So I asked for the most popular flavors.
This is what I got.
But my recommendation is always, always pistachio,
and then you are free to choose.
Maybe a fruit flavor, some chocolate, or something else.
But always pistachio.
Wow.
This gelato shop has been around for very long,
and you definitely can taste that.
This gelato is so rich and dense.
Italian invention. Gelato genius.
There you have it, guys.
So this gelato shop, amazing gelato,
a lot less touristy, fairly priced.
What more can you ask for?
