Better late than never and I'm not just talking about the time that this video comes out.
Arsenal have finally agreed a deal for Mikel Moreno and the series that has been Mikel Moreno
is finally over. I say that, we have to bear in mind, still has to have the medical flyover to
London. Dot eyes, cross tees, hold shirt, say he grew up watching Thierry Henry and all them
kind of players, their people. California was dragged out, Mikel Moreno was dragged out but
we're finally signing a central midfielder. There's a running joke on my platform about
all I ask for is central midfielders. Can we get a striker? Probably not. Can we get an inside
forward? Inshallah, as my Muslim brothers and sisters would say, innit? But yeah, Mikel Moreno
seems to be an Arsenal footballer now in everything but official notice. Nico Williams, apparently the
deal's not done, not dead, apologies. We're still linked with Osman and Nico Williams. I don't
believe the Osman thing. Check out the rest of the other videos. I'm done talking about them
kind of things there. Allow me to share my screen. Big up to you lot for watching this video late at
night or if you've watched it at a different date, big up yourselves. Make sure you let me know your
thoughts in the comments. You're smashing the like button, subscribing and turning on notification
bells. Now, seven hours ago, David Ornstein spoke and on that, I apologise people. I went to an
industry event. You know me, I'm the most underrated content creator. I don't get invited
to many of them. As I was on the train making movements to this, I saw Mikel Moreno and
Fabrizio Romano speak. Arsenal have reached an agreement in principle to sign Mikel Moreno from
Real Sociedad. The B side of me, man. Anyways, people, I can't believe we finally got to this,
people. We've been told it's next week, next week. It's happening next week for about 20 years.
Arsenal have agreed to pay €33.5 million in brackets, €28.4 million alongside €5 million
in variables to secure the services of the midfielder. He's expected to agree a four-year
contract plus a club option of a further year after undergoing a medical. Now, I know many
people will be like, oh, he's 28. Why are you giving him that? For us, that's decent because,
you know, a bit like how you see Thomas Partey and Jorginho at the kind of wrong side of 30
as a footballer, he can tie into that. And obviously, you would imagine within the next
year or two when Jorginho and Partey leave, Mikel Moreno becomes part of a strong squad
specifically in midfield with a Declan Rice, with a Moreno and hopefully two other higher
calibre midfielders. I'm here for this, man. You know, again, for me, again, I'm not Edu,
I'm not Mikel Ortega, I'm not Sociedad. I have no experience dealing with transfers or footballers
transfers, much less multi-million pound deals. I don't know the variables. But to me as an
ignorant fan, the man wanted to sign, personal terms weren't an issue. Mikel Ortega, I mean,
if he gasses up footballers like this, no wonder his wife married him because what sweet stuff has
he been saying? All I know is he had a year left on his deal. We dragged this out, innit? But
£28.4 million plus an extra £5 million, it's an acceptable fee for a man that's in the last year
of his contract and obviously 28 years of age. The Athletic previously reported that the North
The 28-year-old has been a long-term target of Arsenal's and was left out of the Sociedad squad
for Real Sociedad's game against Real Vallecarlo last weekend. If the deal is finalised, Moreno
will become the third player to join Arsenal this summer. Obviously, David Rye's move was
made permanent and we've obviously signed Ricardo Calafuri from Bologna. We all know he came through
the ranks at Osestuna, has obviously played for Sociedad, Newcastle and Borussia Dortmund.
A Euro 2024 winner, scored a great header in the semi-finals against Germany and his
dad was a former footballer. That must have been a great moment for the Moreno family.
Spanish like Mikel Arteta, from the same neck of the woods in Spain as Mikel Arteta,
plays in a role that we need him to sign, that we need to make signings. You look at his aerial
draws, his tackles, his durability, the ability to play as an eight or a six. Obviously, on the
left side of the eight, I don't think he's a like-for-like kind of change with Granit Xhaka,
but there's things he can do with Declan Rice and Odegaard. Him, Declan Rice,
slash Partey, Odegaard finally is going to have suitable midfield partners to play.
The original idea of playing Kai Havertz in the left eight didn't work. That was dead.
He can do it on a couple of occasions. We don't want to see that. We all know Declan Rice's role.
Again, we'll make other videos and speak about Moreno's time there. Obviously, he knows the
captain, Martin Odegaard. We're getting a bit of a Sociedad reunion. Zouba Mendy,
you rejected Liverpool next year. Let's go back for him, provided you actually want to sign.
Obviously, Odegaard and Moreno know each other. I might be dream-chasing, but the name you said
there, if we're not going to shine a striker this summer, is that, yeah? Chapter Mikel Arteta.
There's a No. 14 shirt available. Actually, a No. 10 shirt. Next season, is it too far-fetched
to issue Martin Odegaard becomes the No. 10? Moreno takes the eight? Or, for me, are we going
to let young Ethan Nwamweri develop? The 10 can be his, as it was once a former Heylenders people.
So, yeah, we've got that sorted. Arsenal have reached an agreement. Four-year deal,
plus the option of another one. €33.5 million, plus an extra €5 million in add-ons.
So, yeah, we've gone over that. He's awaiting clearance from Sociedad to travel to London for
his medical. It's not ruled out he could travel this evening, which we would have known.
I hope the deal is tied up, obviously, before the Wolves game. Not that he'll be any part of that,
but Mikel Arteta will obviously have his Aston Villa pre-press conference tomorrow. He'll
potentially be asked. Because of the progress of the deal, maybe he'll offer specific details
about Moreno. He'll probably take a leaf out of the Arsene Wenger book as he continuously says,
I can't talk about players that are not at the football club. And again, I don't know if this
is true, but I hear it, people. But it does feel like there's a theme. We sign a player,
news journalists come out and say, the player we signed in 2024, we've been on to him since 2023.
Allegedly, Arsenal have been working on a Mikel Moreno deal since late 2023, when first contact
took place with his reps. It's been gruelling and a tricky negotiation, given the player in
the last year of his contract at Sociedad also tried shifting goalposts, as you would imagine.
But Moreno only wanted Arsenal after talks with Arteta. See, my manager,
Romano has said, similar to the Ricardo Calafouris signing or story,
Mikel Arteta has been crucial also for Moreno's move to Arsenal, which I'm here for it. I'm here
for the agendas, but it's your team. Obviously, he's got to be crucial to it. Positive talks with
the player. Moreno had at least two more proposals, but he's been clear, only Arsenal. Now,
there's been some rumours with Atletico, some with Barcelona. There might be some other clubs
sniffing around. He's set to travel for a medical and sign a deal once again until 2028, plus a
further option. Ornstein has said as well, Arsenal in this strange position with their wide players
in that they're looking for a backup. They'll be happy being a backup, yet will still contribute
to the effect that would help them win trophies, compete for major honours. It's possible Arsenal
will bring someone in for that position before the window shuts if they find the right deal.
That scenario, we'll have to keep an eye on with no guarantees. There's no guarantees in life at
all. He's also said in the past, there was Pedro Neto, who Arsenal decision-makers were big fans
of. The one that Mikel Ortega and those involved at Arsenal really like is Nico Williams, but he's
the apple of everyone's eyes. Facts. And he's been given the new number 10 at Bilbao. There's
rumours of a new deal. Does he necessarily want to leave? I'm not sure. The problem is he's already
on a really high wage and if he plays like he played in Spain, then it's the going rate,
which would only increase when he comes to a league such as the Premier League and a release
clause in his contract that would need to be paid in full. It would appear he's going to stay. So,
maybe we could be in the race next year or find an alternative, but there you have it.
Now, Aaron Ramsdale has been linked with Ajax, with Bournemouth, with Wolves,
and apparently Southampton are preparing to make a loan bid for him.
Arsenal's preference, as we know, is a permanent deal or at least a loan with an obligation to buy.
Wolves have also held talks and are exploring a loan deal with an option to buy people.
Arsenal apparently are preparing to offer a proposal worth €50m plus bonuses for Lukman,
with the possibility of including Kivio in a deal. Atalanta are requesting €65m to €70m
for the player, with Liverpool also in the background. If he leaves, I reckon he goes
to Paris Saint-Germain, but maybe a return back to the Premier League, either at Anfield or at
the Emirates, is something he's keen on. For Kivio, you need to go and get football. You rejected a
chance to go to Bologna. Juventus were linked with you. They could spin the block, but it seems like
they've got another defender. Inter and AC Milan rumours have gone quiet. He was linked with a
couple of Spanish teams early in the transfer window. Dales have gone quiet. For Kivio,
if you're in the Europa League, you get a Champions League spot. I could be wrong,
but Atalanta are in the Champions League. They play attractive football. Gasperini is a bad
boy manager. First team football is something that could happen. They play attractive football.
There's many reasons for him to go to Atalanta, but does Kivio want to do that? For me,
not that I believe this, because I think personally, if he doesn't go to Paris Saint-Germain,
owing to the season he's had and how great he had in the Europa League final,
his agent is probably using this alleged interest in him to probably get him a better contract. So,
I think it's a bit of nonsense really, but we'll have to see exactly what happens in that regard.
Apparently, Lukman actually has a verbal agreement with PSG. He wants to join with
immediate effect. PSG are in direct contact with Atalanta. Allegedly, Arsenal are closely
monitoring the situation in case the deal falls through, people. So, we'll have to see exactly
what's going on there. Apparently, Raheem Sterling, who I think all us Arsenal fans are waiting for
him to be linked with Arsenal, wants to remain in the Premier League after being told he has no
future at Chelsea. The number 7 shirt has been stripped of him in order to stay at home. The
manager has basically said, yo, he's not in my plans. And if you saw Chelsea in the Conference
League in the game they recently played, if Sterling can't get in there, then the manager
must really not rate you. He's been linked with Aston Villa and to be honest, Aston Villa are
assembling a very good squad to help them in the Champions League. So, he's almost felled upwards,
but are Aston Villa going to buy him permanently or get him in a loan capacity? And he would link
up with Leon Bailey. So, it could be lit. And living in Birmingham, it's not quite London,
but there's a lot of us yard people there. So, you can get some good food there. So,
we'll have to see in that regards, people. We really will have to see. I don't buy 99% of
these rumours, but we'll have to see. But yeah, it's happy that it seems like the Moreno saga is
over. We've addressed midfield to some degree. We've addressed left-back, which was told that
was an area I'll take at once. I mean, the article you saw of David Ornstein that we went over
probably makes you a bit pessimistic in relation to a wide forward, but I would love a striker and
a wide forward. I think one of the two has to arrive. I do think we have enough to compete
and challenge, but getting over the line, getting another spring in our step, I do think we're
shooting ourselves in the foot, not acting in the market on exactly such. But what do I know? I'm
just a fan like you lot. You lot, let me know your thoughts. Don't forget to like, comment
