Ye Zi, a famous ugly girl in Xiguan Town, lost her father when she was young and moved to Xiguan Town with her mother who remarried. Liu Xinting, the daughter of her stepfather's ex-wife, was dissatisfied with the mother and daughter and often deliberately made things difficult for them. Because of the fraudulent marriage and the death of her stepfather in a car accident, the family, which was already in a difficult situation, was burdened with heavy debts. In order to repay the debt, Ye Zi had to accept the instigation of her friend He Tianming's fiancée Qin Lijuan and agreed to advertise for the beauty center opened by Lijuan's mother. As a result, she underwent plastic surgery and became an artificial beauty. Feng Zijian, the lover of her elder sister Liu Xinting, came to Xiguan Town without telling his mother to track down the whereabouts of his biological father. He met Ye Zi by chance. This led to the emotional entanglement and grievances between Ye Zi and He Tianming, between Ye Zi and Feng Zijian, and between the three generations of the Liu, He, and Qin families.
