Hello everyone.
Today I am talking all about mixing navy with white and red.
I love to wear navy and white year round, but there's something special about mixing
it with red.
I think it makes it feel just a bit brighter, happier, and more whimsical.
The items today are in a cotton, cotton blend, silk, or wool.
I have casual and dressy.
I'm going to start with tops.
Casual first.
It is a red and white stripe long sleeve baton neck tee.
I bought this at Amazon, so I was a little hesitant that I would like it because it was
only $15.
It's 95% cotton, 5% elastane, and I love it.
In fact, looking at it up close, my favorite cotton is Pima cotton, and I really wouldn't
know if this was Pima cotton or not.
It is silky, smooth, now maybe it's not as silky as a Pima.
I mean if I put my Pima next to it, maybe I could tell the difference, but looking at
it like this, it is so soft, it's very comfortable, it's not scratchy, it's wonderful.
The detail work is very good, the stitches are great.
I would never know this is from Amazon.
It's long sleeve.
I've talked about long sleeves before.
I just think they are very flattering because they're elongating.
It's why I like three-quarter sleeves and elbow sleeves.
I just think they look a little bit dressier, a little bit more refined.
It comes in other colors as well.
It comes in navy and white, black and white, green and white, and pink and white.
Not all of them are $15.
One was $9.99.
I believe the navy and white must be the most popular because it was $24.99.
A stripe is timeless.
It never goes out of style, so you don't have to worry about, will I feel comfortable wearing
this in five years?
Yes, I have striped tops that I've had for ten and more years.
At the end of the video, I will be styling everything in outfits along with accessories,
so be sure and stay tuned for that.
So that one was casual.
This one is much dressier.
This is 100% mulberry silk.
This is from LilySilk.
LilySilk is sponsoring their section of the video.
They are also offering a coupon code to save on their site.
I will put all the details here on the screen.
This would look so cute with dark wash jeans.
So cute.
And a black cardigan, navy cardigan.
It is sleeveless, but it has a longer sleeve, so it's almost a cap sleeve.
It's cool.
It's comfortable, and it has this beautiful cowl neck, which gives it a softness, a femininity,
and interesting.
It looks really pretty under a blazer because you have this soft drape.
My next top is also mulberry silk from LilySilk, short sleeve, button front.
I'm wearing it in the white, so I ordered both.
The short sleeves are more of an elbow length on me because I did size up to a small.
I am typically an extra, extra small.
I believe, what did I get in this top?
I don't know.
I will put the size on screen.
I don't remember if I sized up in this or not.
I usually size up when I want length, so I don't remember.
That's why I sized up in this top was for length.
It is cropped.
I wanted the cropped look, but not too cropped because I am very long in the torso.
So the size small worked well for me, but I think it also made the sleeves a little
bit longer, which I love.
I love the longer short sleeve.
What makes this top so cute is the panels.
They're not as obvious on the navy as they are on the white, and I will show you the
white in a moment.
It has a panel down here, and on the back it has a panel here and here, and then on
the sleeves it also has that panel.
Here it is on the white blouse I'm wearing.
It has a panel on the bottom, on the sleeves, also on the back.
If you like wearing tops out, that's what's so great about this one.
It's made so it looks cute worn out.
Not all tops do look good worn out, but it also looks cute tucked in.
I like tucking it in just at the front.
It's the perfect length for that, and I think the panels just give it more interest.
I've talked about tops.
Let's move to bottoms, and this is a dressier pant.
I picked this out specifically for a dressy pant year-round here in Florida.
This is mulberry silk, and this is in that silk that has more of a shine.
What I like about these is that they are side zip, and they are ankle length.
I don't have to worry about a shoe heel height.
I can wear any heel height I want, and I don't have to worry about bulk over the belly.
It has a faux zip front.
There's no zipper.
It's just fabric here.
It has deep pockets.
It has one bessem pocket on the back, or actually, I guess you would call that a flat pocket
maybe.
It's not real.
It's faux, but cute detail.
As I said, I bought these for dressy pants, but you can also dress them down.
They would look adorable with a white cotton crew neck t-shirt and navy ballet flats or
navy flat sandals or gold metallic sandals.
They would look gorgeous with a white or ivory silk camisole, white or ivory silk cardigan,
or if it's cold out, a cashmere cardigan, and then high heel gold metallic strappy sandals.
My next pair of pants are also in mulberry silk from LilySilk.
These are my favorite.
They're my favorite trousers at LilySilk.
I have them in navy.
I love them so much.
I have them in a navy length that I can wear with high heels, and I have in the navy length
I can wear with flats.
I love this pant.
It is a wide leg, pleated front, but the pleats are small, so you still have a very smooth,
flat belly area, deep pockets, and then back has faux bessem pockets, and here's what else
I love is the elasticized back.
Also has belt loops, which I wanted.
Because of the elasticized back, I get a much better fit, but it's not elasticized in the
front, so it doesn't look like a pull-on pant.
It isn't a pull-on pant.
It does have a zip front.
You just can't go wrong with these trousers, navy or white.
If you buy one item in this whole video, I recommend the trousers, whether they're navy
or white, either one.
I love both.
My next item is a dress.
It's this navy and white mulberry silk dress from LilySilk.
This is so cute.
It's sleeveless.
It is an A-line.
It's a fit and flare because it comes with, oops, where is it?
It's hiding this belt in the same fabric, so you can use this belt on other dresses,
on your jeans, on your trousers.
You can use your own belt on this dress or that one.
It does have keepers, which I like, so it secures your belt in place.
As I said, it's A-line, but it has extra fabric in the skirt, which is what makes it so cute
and have a flounce.
I sized up because I needed the length.
I'm very long in the torso.
I also wanted more fabric in the skirt.
Because I did that, the armholes are too big for me, so I will have to take this to my
seamstress, but that's easy.
They just sew these up.
It looks so cute on.
I love that it's sleeveless.
That also is elongating.
If you don't like your arms, you can still wear a sleeveless dress.
Just wear a cardigan over your shoulders or wear a cardigan on, or you know what else
looks cute with this is a white jacket, as would a navy blazer or a navy cardigan or,
of course, a red cardigan.
Stripes, as I said, are timeless.
They don't go out of style.
And I love that it's belted so that I can nip it in at the waist and it gives me more
of a shape.
I have more of a wine bottle or a Chianti bottle where I'm narrow on the top and then
I flare out on my hips.
This gives me more of a shape because it nips me in in the waist.
Look at that panel of silk to give it extra fabric on the skirt.
And then look how it meets in the back.
It's so cute.
It's very well done.
The quality at LilySilk is beautiful, but the prices are very reasonable.
It really is a wonderful value.
I keep talking about pairing all these things with cardigans and blazers.
Well, this is a little of both.
It's a cardigan and a blazer in one.
This is all wool, navy with gold detail in the buttons.
I just think this is so pretty.
What drew me to this blazer was the detailing around the neckline and down the front.
It has a basketweave.
I don't know if you can see that.
Let me get closer.
There's that basketweave detailing, gold buttons.
The detailing goes all the way down to the hem.
It's on the cuffs as well and then all the way around.
It's detailing like this that makes a piece of clothing look so much more expensive, so
elegant.
And because this is 100% wool, it can be worn year-round.
I wore this last week.
We have 93 degree weather, almost 100% humidity.
I wore it over my shoulders outside and kept it on my shoulders inside.
It was perfect weight for the air conditioning.
It gets very cold in our restaurants.
At least for me, cold in our restaurants in the summer, actually year-round.
This dresses up even casual items like jeans.
It looks adorable with white jeans.
It looks adorable with a white cotton skirt, jean skirt.
Of course, it looks wonderful with silk trousers, silk dress.
Throw this over your shoulders.
It can be worn with a striped dress.
This is cropped, but it's not too cropped.
I sized up to a small for the length.
Again, I'm normally an extra, extra small.
My next item is a cardigan.
This is button front cardigan in red.
I have shown this to you before.
I wore it at Christmas.
I never was much of a red person until the last few years.
I don't know if it's because my hair is gray now.
Something has changed.
I love it.
If you like the outfits I'm showing you, but you don't like navy, just substitute black.
Black works just as beautifully with red and white, obviously, but red and black I wear
a lot year-round.
Look what it looks like with navy.
Look at that.
All three.
Beautiful.
The red and white striped top with the cami underneath.
See how it just brightens my face, especially with the lipstick?
I just think it's such a happy color.
If you're not a red person, bright pink.
It works just as well.
By the way, I forgot to mention, if you are not familiar with LilySilk, they have a huge
selection of blouses, so if you didn't see something you love here, they have many more
online.
They have a variety of pieces of clothing, dresses, but they also have bedding, accessories.
In fact, I just got this belt.
I have it also in black and in white.
It is all leather.
It's a fabulous belt because I can wear it both at my waist and down on my hips because
they give you so many holes here.
It also has this beautiful detail, just a great belt, and navy and brown look wonderful
together.
Look.
You can see.
Look how rich that is.
I love navy and brown.
Of course, if you don't like brown or if you don't have navy accessories, black works beautifully
with navy.
For example, I've got this gorgeous LilySilk black and white scarf, and look how it works
with navy.
LilySilk scarves are really pretty.
This is a floral design, classic black and white.
I love this particular size because I can wear it as a headband in my hair, I can tie
it around a ponytail, I can tie it around a bun.
I also can wear it, obviously, around my neck tied in a knot, but I also love wearing it
tied around the top handles of my handbag to create a twilly look.
Getting back to clothing, my last item is outerwear, and it is this red Windbreaker
raincoat.
It is all nylon.
It is mid-thigh length.
It has a detachable hood.
It is zip front and also snap front.
When it's chilly outside, but not so chilly that I need a wool coat, I like to wear something
like this.
It breaks the wind or it breaks the chill.
I'll wear a cardigan under it or a pullover sweater and then this, and then I just take
it off when I'm inside at a restaurant.
It's the kind of thing I wear when I don't feel like wearing a blazer, but I want an
extra layer.
Or, of course, if it's going to rain, it works beautifully that way too, but I don't wear
it just for rainy days.
I wear it as a Windbreaker.
Red is just such a fun pop of color.
Again, see how it brightens my face?
And it looks so pretty with navy.
Can you imagine that over a navy top?
It looks great over jeans, white jeans, white pants, white trousers.
It also looks great with black, black jeans.
I have this in black.
I have it in pastel pink.
It is so lightweight.
It actually folds up into this zip pouch.
So that is everything.
Coming up next I will show everything in outfits and don't forget my coupon code to save at
LilySilk.
I will put all the details in the description box.
Thank you so much for watching my video and I will talk to you in my next one.
Bye.
