Good morning everyone.
Welcome back to our channel.
I hope that you are all keeping well and welcome to another beautiful snowy day here in Poland.
So we have a really exciting video planned for today.
We are doing a food tour around Zakopane town and we were actually getting a lot of comments
under our YouTube videos to recommend some Polish food and we haven't tried a lot of
it yet.
So we have a list and we're going to try to get through all of it today.
So we're really looking forward to it but for now we're going to run because it's absolutely
pelting down snow.
Okay yes we have had to go and get the umbrella because it is absolutely pelting down with
snow but on a positive side we are actually going to go and eat food all day and make
a video of it.
So it's a pretty weird concept but we're going to do it anyway.
So of course we have to start our day off with a nice coffee to heat us up.
The snow is starting to come down but I'm heavy now.
We're pulled into the side here.
We're pulled into the side so yeah.
We'll be eating snow I think today.
Yeah we're going to have snow soup.
I can't wait for that.
So the idea of this video is we're going to try as much street food as we can so I don't
know how it's going to go.
We might have to dip in and out of a few restaurants as well.
Absolutely we might have to yeah but we'll try to do as much street food as we can.
That's a promise.
So we're going to start our day off with something sweet and we're going to go for Gofry is the
name of it.
And it's basically waffles.
Right okay.
So I don't know if it's like traditional Polish food but it's like everywhere over here.
We've seen so many stalls.
And there's one right here.
As you can see all the different types of toppings and flavours and stuff.
I think we're going to go one each are we?
One between us.
Sorry.
It's a long day.
We've so many foods to choose.
So one between us.
Yeah and they look big as well.
They look amazing don't they?
What's this one?
Banana and cream and chocolate I think is it?
Hello.
One of these please.
Yeah.
Hot chocolate as well.
Hot chocolate.
To wash it down.
Yeah it's a long day now.
Yeah.
We better pace ourselves.
Or some hot wine.
It's 11 o'clock in the morning.
Thank you.
Oh look at that.
Oh it is big.
It's bigger than I thought.
Oh it smells so good.
So that was 20 zloty.
Which is like 4 euro.
Oh okay cool.
Sweet.
So not too bad.
Not too bad.
Also the coffees was 20 zloty so hopefully everything else is 20 zloty.
Okay so taste test.
First find a nice bit of shelter here.
In out of the snow.
It's on my nose.
A little bit.
Hold on.
Let me get a bit.
Teamwork makes the dream work.
Hold on.
There we go.
What's it taste like?
Oh it's delicious.
Is it?
Okay.
Yeah it's so nice.
The cream makes it yes.
Right.
It's like cream.
Chocolate sprinkles.
Chocolate syrup.
I see a bit of caramel sauce on it as well.
Mmm.
And then a waffle.
Okay.
Great start to our food vlog.
We're actually stuffed so I don't know how the rest of the day is going to go.
We're on the lookout now for something savoury and Samantha will be leading the way on this
one.
We're on the lookout for kielbasa.
Kielbasa.
Yes.
Which is a.
So it's a traditional Polish sausage.
Sausage.
And it's really tasty.
It's like a smoked sausage and it's cooked and like with like onion and garlic and stuff
like that.
So it's like really flavoured.
So yeah I'm really looking forward to trying it.
So I got my kielbasa.
I've actually tried this already funny enough but I tried it.
We were in a few hotels that had like a buffet breakfast and there was like small little
piece of pieces of I'm presuming it was kielbasa as well.
Okay.
Yeah.
And I don't know if this if it was if it's going to be as good as.
Right.
Okay.
Yeah.
This one.
This is.
We cheated a little bit.
Yeah.
Because we had to go into a restaurant and get it.
We did check out a few stalls but they didn't seem to be selling that at all.
So I was able to get one for takeout.
Okay.
And here it is here.
Choice of sauce.
You got mustard and.
Mustard and ketchup.
Ketchup as well.
Of course.
Yeah.
Of course.
So you got mustard and ketchup in the one.
Mustard and ketchup in the one.
It's hot.
You can actually smell the smoke of it.
It's really smoked.
Right.
It's a little bit smoky.
Really nice.
Really juicy.
Really hot.
Yeah.
It's really, really nice.
Full of flavor.
So juicy.
And the meal.
This actually came as a meal in the restaurant so it came with like potatoes and like onion
and stuff like that.
Anyway.
And I just asked for the sausage by itself.
Obviously that's what I wanted to try just to take out.
And it worked out 15 zloty just for the sausage.
So what was that about three euro.
Yeah.
I think.
That's not bad is it.
And it's filling as well.
like i mean look at the size of it you have to eat it all though yeah but you can taste the flavor
and i like that i said it's um flavored with uh black pepper salt and garlic i think it is and
then it's smoked as well lovely so it's really good and you can get different meats in it you
can get pork lamb turkey uh beef i think as well okay and i just went for pork oh okay right so
like a regular one just a regular sausage yeah okay so we are done with the sausage now we're
on our way to another one we saw you on youtube you saw us on youtube oh okay you like the videos
oh thanks very much put it there bud
that's gas isn't it cute little kid so anyway where was it yeah yeah we're on our way to
another stall because we are going to get one of poland's and one of zach panay's
most famous fields our favorite and we've tried it so much already but we have to include it in
hello can we get two yes
12 yeah so we got our favorite ossoff and another smoked food to try after the smoked sausage
kielbasa so uh yeah it actually originates from here and it's made from either goats or sheep's
oh okay right yes and it's a smoked salted cheese and it's made up in the mountains by
originated like from highlanders yes and it's the best around we've tried a couple
in krakow in wroclaw and this is by far the best you'd never get sick of it honestly no it's just
so good and then the jam of course it's a cranberry jam and that just makes it
and on the topic of ossoff we want to say a big thank you to bart to katie and to nicole and to
nicole when we were back in ireland for those couple of weeks we actually were given a present
and boy bart and katie and nicole and it was a big bag of ossoff that they got shipped over
from poland to ireland and then they were so kind to actually give us um kind of a bag of it we
actually then brought it to samantha's family and we made it in samantha's family's kitchen and we
so yeah a big thanks to bart katie and nicole
gets better every time holy god it stops snowing
so we have found a stall that sells our next item on our list and it's called
aubergine pink i'm saying it wrong and it's basically a breaded bagel okay and this is
oh it's kind of got like sesame seeds and this one's like cheese isn't it yeah it looks like
that doesn't it i think we'll go for the plain one will we i think that's popular i think it's
just like a sesame seed seeded one and then it's like salted right okay yeah hello um can we get
one aubergine i think i said it right thank you okay how much is that 250
one tip to doing a field tour in zakopane if you're going on street field is bring cash
okay so i'm a little bit curious about this one because i think this is like a bread and i think
on its own will be a little bit bland i think do you put stuff in this or maybe butter mayonnaise
if we were having a bagel at home we'd probably cut it in half and we'd maybe toast it and put
some like cheese and some fillings on it yeah but in poland do they just eat it that way yeah
because i think that it's seeded and it's salted so it's supposed to be tasty i don't know we'll
have to try it okay so taste test doesn't look the most appetizing i'm not gonna lie it's hard
it's hard yeah it's cold i wonder so i'm just speaking with my mouth full i wonder
how they're meant to be hot it'd be nice hot wouldn't it or toasted or something like that
i think it's a popular like grab on the go field over here yeah i don't know i mean it was only
but i just like i said i just think it's quite plain it's just like eating bread like on its
own with nothing else butter or mayo or cheese or whatever i'd probably cut it and then i'd
probably put some stuff on it and then like like an actual bagel yeah it's very plain it's
usually like eating a plain uh bread roll yeah there's nothing actually wrong with it it's just
it's lacking a little bit of flavor lacking flavor it needs some toppings definitely unless
are you meant to do that i'm not too sure leave it in the comments if we're eating this wrong
is it supposed to be just a plane or you might jazz it up a little bit i don't know maybe it'd
be nice dipped into soup or something as well maybe yeah just very plain and speaking of soup
we're on our way to get what orish people refer to as soup two lovely pints please
so in for a bit of heat we're sitting right beside the bar and we have our favorite
it's not my favorite i love i have to say i haven't i haven't decided what my favorite is
yet yeah i like the is it varda you like the bar and then what's the other one that i like
oh it's the zed one god how do we know what we call it but it's definitely not too it's like
shit or something like that or something like that yeah yeah it's actually terrible we should
know by now if we drank enough of it we keep going for the same beers we did say we're going
to do a beer video and like that again we got loads of recommendations so we still have to
get through them all yeah so far that is my favorite yeah like that we have so much choice
so i could change my mind okay so the points have been drank to be honest with you
we had to rally there because that could have ended up just being a big sesh but now we decided
that we would continue with the food tour we have to although we gladly would have stayed there
okay so our next food of choice is something that we've had before once only and if you watch that
video at snowlandia you'll see that we actually had it there for the first time we're gonna have
it again we're gonna include it in the food blog and once we can find it we'll show you what it is
so mad his lips are frozen and i can't feel my feet they are like blocks of wood
yes it's cold but it stopped snowing it stops now yeah so that's a win yes so i spoke way too soon
because we haven't even made it to the next food stop and it's snowing again another blizzard
so we got our next dish which is zappy kanka so we're cheating again on this one because we
couldn't get out of street food so we got it as a takeout and we had to put our own ketchup on this
time right because when we got it that time at snowlandia the ketchup was already on it it's
kind of like a soft baguette isn't it it's like it reminds me of i was saying tequila actually
reminds me of like a half a subway roll that's how soft the baguette is it's really really nice
yeah but then it's like a pizza also so you got cheese and mushrooms on top and i think they
actually do a couple of different varieties as well you can get it with ham and tomato you can
get it with cucumber and tomato some salami and jalapenos some beef some red onion so yeah there's
so many different choices but this one is really handy because it's uh there's no meat so i can
eat it and there's cheese mushrooms and samantha's gonna put the tomato ketchup on it but it has
become we only had it once but it has become one of my favorites yeah it's just absolutely
grab on the go and it looks so big as well like we got one between us this time it looks so big
but it's not too filling no it's not and do you know what this is crazy but the roll is quite
soft so you know sometimes when you eat a baguette you get like little cuts on the side of your lips
this is really really soft and it's just really easy to eat and it tastes amazing
okay so we are done with the zappy kanker and it came to 24 zloty for the the one
and also we forgot to mention that the points was 34. 34 zloty for the two points
it's what it's turning into nice snow it's not a rainy snow earlier now it's coming down a little
we are getting flashed over lads and to be fair if this video if we're doing this
in these conditions give us an L thumbs up give us an L subscribe or
follow us on instagram do something please because it'd be uh much appreciated
we still haven't found out how you say it is we were calling them
curly potatoes but we'll find out uh what is the name of this
there we go so we got our curly potato chips and we actually got them in our video at snow
landia and we're really plugging that video uh that's twice we mentioned it but yeah if you
want to watch it we leave it in the description but we got these uh in that video when we were
up there for the first time as well yeah for the first time as well and again we fell in love with
them they are amazing they're really really nice they're really good and i think you can get
different flavors on them i'm not too sure the flavors then the guy at snowlandia he just like
picked the flavors for us yeah yeah and then this guy here let us choose our flavor so i think it
was like garlic salt and i think it was paprika right okay yeah it was orange it looked like
paprika yeah it looked a little bit like so i think that was the idea look at them no
i'd say they're lovely they're just like basically fried crisps yeah
it's so good like crisps did i did i salt them and flavor them okay you actually did a perfect
job yeah actually did a perfect job lightly salted full of flavor they are 10 out of 10 for them
and the price for one strip it is was 10 zloty
okay so we have got our coffees apparently because we're trying to stop hypothermia from
kicking in we are frozen but on the topic of coffee we want to say a huge thank you to
three people in particular who have made donations to our buy me a coffee link we actually have it
it's kind of buried in the description of our videos isn't it we never actually mentioned it
this is the first time we've actually mentioned it and that is just to say thank you to caroline
who's samantha's mom she was the first one to donate she made a donation also to christophe
and to adrian um completely unexpected like i said we never mentioned the link but we had it
in our description and the other day we woke up to an email and those three people had made
donations and honestly from the bottom of our hearts it's such a kind gesture we are so so
grateful so thank you very much thank you we have seen your blog we are from warsaw
and before we decided to come here yeah okay we're looking somewhere and right we
you came across the videos oh you're vlogging oh it's nice
if you when you're in warsaw invite you oh thank you so much thank you very much
that's great thank you bye bye see you thank you oh my god what lovely people they just invited us
to their house to their house in warsaw oh my god they said they've got a big house and if we're
ever back there that we can go and visit so amazing again so so kind thank you so much
so our next food of the day is something sweet after a coffee and this is called a patch key
and it's basically a donut oh jesus look at that so we went for the traditional one so i think it
has jam in it and it's like coated with ice and sugar oh lovely yeah this is a big thing in poland
i'm nearly sure they even have a patch key day right and then we've heard about another thing
it's like fat thursday i think it's called if i'm right so i don't know if that's the same thing as
patch key day or fat thursday yeah yeah i don't know let us know in the comments we're not too
sure and what happens basically on the thursday so let's dig in and try this good lord okay i
didn't even get some jam that time so it's the jam inside it yeah it's right in the middle yeah
it's a jam one so i need a couple of bites maybe because it's big it's nice it's really soft
i can see the jam you can see it poking out it's poking out okay which i get a jam bite
oh he's closing everything
right what sort of jam is it is it like strawberry or something or plum or something
hold on it's definitely not strawberry right okay yeah i think it could be plum right okay
plum i think it'd be you might have to taste it i don't really know i know it's not strawberry
give me a bleeding shot of it i might be able to taste it i'd be nearly gone
i'll tell you one thing thank god i wore a stretchy pant today
my waistline is expanding by the minute i know we've ate some amount of food
so our last meal of the day is of course our dinner so we've stopped into a lovely restaurant
i can't say the name of it i'll show you the menu the name is oh let's go
the dish i'm after going for now is something new i haven't tried yet and it's called
basmica soup and the reason that i went for this one is because i've read up on it and it's a
originated from the tatter mountains so it's like their version of like a cabbage soup right i don't
know it's like a special soup here it's like slow cooked pork okay combined with like sauerkraut
in the soup and it just it says that it's just so worth to try it right so like i have to try it
and especially that we're exactly exactly exactly so yeah inside it there's like potatoes in it as
well yeah there's cabbage there's a little bit it's like slow cooked pork oh there it is there
it's like a big lump i'm sure it'll probably break up easy inside it it smells absolutely
delicious oh my god that's so tasty is it no straight away like full of flavor now is the time
to taste the pork that is really really really tasty it's like melt in your mouth honestly that's
what i can taste throughout the soup even though i hadn't got a bit of the pot it's flavored right
through it like yeah i forgot about the potato
good it's really good it's like a stew now isn't that just the right thing after the day we've had
walking around in the snow it's a perfect dish so our other dishes have now arrived and we went
for some potato pancakes with mushroom sauce we have had them before we've had them and they are
amazing they're the best they're really really nice and we've also gone for pierogi these are
and is there spinach in them as well or that's that's just the cheese they look really good
yeah yeah we've had pierogi before i haven't had them in a while we haven't had them in a while
but they are really really nice you can get different um different variety of them i've
just gone for the cheese ones you can get them with meat you can actually get sweet ones as well
which we've got more sauce yeah with the belgian chocolate oh yeah oh my god honestly if we have
we'll go for them again for dessert although we did have the patch that was like dessert before
dinner anyway time to dig in yeah okay we can't eat anymore our food tour is finally over thank
god absolutely stuffed so so stuffed but it was a great way to end our food tour and with a lovely
dinner there what did you make it oh the dinner was really really nice and i have to say i was
it's really nice to try different traditional dishes as well yeah and stuff that you'd never
try like it changes it up instead of just going for the plain old meals that you're used to yeah
yeah well your dish is actually from Zakopane so it's kind of nice it was a regional dish and i
have to say it was really really tasty yeah and the one i got i got the pierogi which was again
traditional polish meal vegetarian friendly so we got it with the cheese also the potato pancakes
with the mushroom sauce they are another flavor of ours they're really really good so good honestly
they're so good and that all came to what was the grand total okay the grand total for the dinner
and then we also got two fantas as well so it was 133 zloty we will leave the euro conversion
in the little corner there and we'll also tally up the entire day and see exactly what the cost
of all the food we got today yeah but for now we are on the lookout for a gym or in fact we might
so if you like the video give it a thumbs up don't forget to subscribe to the channel
and follow us on instagram at go time travels and we'll see you in the next one bye
