Miraval Provence France Rose 2020 wine review by Wine Director Tony Del Sol

Welcome back everybody to Relax As Chefs Wine. I'm Tony Del Sol. It was about almost 95 degrees here in California, Los Angeles, and let me tell you something. On a day like this, you want something like this. The Miraval Rosé from Provence, France. This is an iconic bottle and an iconic winery. They've been doing wine over there for hundreds of years. And you probably know them because of Brad Penangeli Jolie. They bought this about 12-14 years ago. And they're in the news everywhere right now with that big lawsuit because Angelina sold her shares to somebody else. And Brad's a little pissed, so he's suing her for millions of dollars. But he's still the co-owner and he's still hands-on. And let me tell you something. I found out about this wine about 10 years ago when one of my vendors was tasting me on Rosés. And I always tell my vendors, do not tell me about points. I don't care. I don't care who owns it. But I kept going back to this one. And then I said, all right, talk to me. Who is this? And he told me. And I was like, what? Wow, a celebrity wine owner that has great wine? That was awesome. So I was still carrying it at the restaurant. People are still loving it. And for $20, it's a great guy. It really is, especially from Provence, because they're known for their Rosés. So let's go ahead and taste. I like this one chilled. You can even have it at room temperature too. But I always say when a wine's done right, it doesn't need to be that cold. I mean, if you just look at that color, it's so pretty. It's like a pink salmon. And that nose is gorgeous. It smells like peaches, strawberries, and like a floral scent to it too, which is gorgeous. It also has a smell like of wet stones. All right, let's taste this. I mean, every year it's consistent. It's so damn good. I highly recommend this one. I mean, this would go great with any salad, any with goat cheese, feta cheese. I mean, wow. Salmon, of course, with this, any kind of fish, any kind of chicken. That's great. All right, guys, enjoy your summer. And remember to like and subscribe and relax. It's just wine. Salud.
