Museum Kereta Keraton Yogyakarta
Museum tersebut menyimpan 23 koleksi kereta kuda, lengkap dengan pelbagai peralatan dasar kuda dan kereta. Dari jumlah itu, terdapat 18 kereta yang masih digunakan untuk upacara-upacara kebesaran keraton. Selain kereta kuda dan perlengkapannya, ada pula patung kuda di sana.
Kereta Kyai Garuda Yaksa yang Megah
Salah satu kereta yang unik di museum tersebut adalah Kereta Kyai Garuda Yaksa. Kereta ini dibuat di Belanda pada 1861. Lantaran keramat, kereta itu selalu “dimandikan” setiap satu tahun sekali pada bulan Suro.
Berbeda dari kereta lain, kemegahan kereta ini terlihat dari ornamennya. Dengan desain khas Eropa, puncak kereta itu dihiasi pula dengan ornamen mahkota seberat 20 kilogram yang konon terbuat dari emas 18 karat. Biasanya, mahkota ini hanya dibersihkan saat upacara penobatan akan digelar.
Untuk kereta berusia lebih dari seratus tahun, Kereta Kyai Garuda Yaksa memiliki sistem yang mutakhir pada masanya, lo. Jika pintu dibuka, tangga untuk naik maupun turun akan terjulur secara otomatis. Bisa dibayangkan, “kecanggihannya” seperti kecanggihan tangga pesawat.
Hingga kini, Kereta Kyai Garuda Paksa masih digunakan untuk acara penobatan Sultan.

Yogyakarta Palace Railway Museum
The museum holds a collection of 23 horse-drawn carriages, complete with various basic horse and carriage equipment. Of that number, there are 18 trains that are still used for royal palace ceremonies. Apart from the horse-drawn carriage and equipment, there is also a horse statue there.
The majestic Kyai Garuda Yaksa Chariot
One of the unique trains in the museum is the Kyai Garuda Yaksa Train. This train was made in the Netherlands in 1861. Because it is sacred, the train is always "bathed" once a year in the month of Suro.
Different from other trains, the splendor of this train can be seen from its ornaments. With a typical European design, the top of the carriage is also decorated with a 20 kilogram crown ornament which is said to be made of 18 carat gold. Usually, this crown is only cleaned when the coronation ceremony is held.
