How good are juicy pork chops?
So good.
So, so good.
But, you know, usually you would cook them in a fry pan or the barbecue.
Absolutely.
Not anymore.
Steph's going to show us that they can be cooked really easily in the air fryer.
And really deliciously, and they stay really lovely and moist.
And that's the whole point of it, right?
Because you don't want them to dry out.
No, pork is one of those things that it's really easy to make it dry, isn't it?
Yeah, exactly.
So the air fryer is great for that.
So we have got a bit of a spice mix happening.
So we're starting off with some brown sugar.
And that will just help make a lovely caramelisation all over those delicious pork chops.
Then we have got garam masala, which is those beautiful, fragrant Indian spices.
Nice and peppery.
I love that.
And then for a little bit of spice, we've got some chilli.
Now, obviously, if you're not a chilli lover, don't use it.
But I am a chilli lover.
Great.
So that's our spice mix.
Now we're going to add a good, good, good pinch of salt.
Pork loves salt.
Sure do.
So maybe a couple of those, I think.
Garam masala, I love that because it is a spice blend.
So it already has the cumin and the coriander already in there.
So it saves you adding loads and loads of spices.
Absolutely.
And it's a lovely warm spice.
Now, you can add your olive oil in here and make a paste,
or you can add it onto your pork chops and sprinkle.
So I think today we might just make a little bit of a paste, just for something different.
And this is really easy to do.
And that's what your cooking's all about.
You've got a brand new book, The Airfryer Queen.
I love it because it's just so bright and so happy.
It's beautiful.
I love to just to look at the book and flick through the beautiful, colourful pages.
And all your recipes are so easy to do.
And I think that's what people want, midweek dinners that they can do quickly in the airfryer.
Absolutely.
And every single ingredient in the book is from the supermarket.
So, you know, no specialty ingredients.
It's quick and easy for you to cook at home.
Very nice.
Fab.
All right.
So we've got our lovely paste.
We're going to pop that onto our pork chops.
When you're doing a big batch of pork chops, say you're cooking for a big family.
I mean, you've got four kids.
I know, I've got way too many kids.
But the airfryer's classically small.
How would you do it when you're cooking for a big family?
Oh, look, I think the secret is having the right airfryer for your family, I think.
So there are smaller ones.
This is probably a mid-sized one.
But then there's also big ones with double drawers.
So it's just about having the right equipment for you.
I guess pork chops cook so fast too, though.
If you cook them in batches and let the first batch rest, the second ones will work out nicely too.
Really want to get my hands in there and actually give it a really good coat and a really good
cover because then it's going to taste delicious all over.
So you put lots of that on there and then the flavour will just impart all the way through.
Very nice.
And it goes straight in.
Straight in.
I guess that's another appeal with airfryers.
No preheating.
So if you haven't heated your oven, you don't have to wait for it.
Just go straight into it.
Because it's such a little confined area and such a great, powerful fan, they heat up really quickly.
And how long are we going to cook these for, Steph?
200 degrees, 10 to 12 minutes.
Flip them halfway and they'll be perfect.
All right.
And here we go.
Pork chops are ready.
OK.
Shall we just take them out and let them rest for a little bit while we make our little sauce to go with them?
Sounds good.
So we've been chopping some pineapple.
We have.
And some coriander.
And then we're going to make it just taste delicious with a few little spices.
So we've got some cumin seeds that we've already toasted.
Pop them in.
Some chili powder.
Again, if you're not a chili person, leave it out.
But I love a bit of chili.
Some sugar.
And you've just used some canned pineapple.
Nothing wrong with it?
No, nothing wrong with it.
If you've got fresh, obviously use it.
But if you don't, canned's fine.
And then we are going to add in some lovely natural yogurt.
A little bit more because we like it nice and saucy.
Yeah, the classic raita is done with cucumber.
So this is quite clever what you've done here.
Because we know pork goes really nicely with fruits, particularly pineapple.
Yes, exactly.
That nice acidity.
This is actually quite traditional.
My Indian mother-in-law taught me how to make this.
So there you go.
There you go.
A pineapple raita.
Yeah, yeah.
I love the idea of that, even just with a curry.
Yeah, absolutely.
Delicious.
Why not?
It's fresh.
Salty, sweet, wingy.
Yeah.
Salt and pepper.
And then give it a good mix.
And then we are done.
And let's just take a moment to have a look at these gorgeous pork chops.
Just admire them for a moment, shall we?
And the air fryers also crisped up that little bit of rind that was on there.
It's juicy.
It smells good.
Yeah, put one there.
I agree.
And two.
There you go.
All right.
And I like to just pop a little bit of this on top.
Mmm, pineapple raita.
I've never tried it.
And I'm really looking forward to it.
It'll be delicious.
And we've got some more coriander.
I guess we can...
Yeah.
It's important to make it look pretty.
Generous garnish, eh?
And look, shall we just put a little bit on the side as well?
Why not?
A little bit extra.
There we go.
And it goes.
Fabulous.
Pork chops with a stunning raita.
Not with cucumber, pineapple.
All done in the air fryer.
Very clever.
Thank you.
