Hey Credit Warriors, welcome to the show. Now, the Amex Centurion Lounge is a very popular perk
of the Amex Platinum and Amex Centurion cards. And American Express just announced the opening
of what they call their 29th Centurion Lounge tomorrow at Ronald Reagan Washington National
Airfield, or DCA. In this video, we are going to go through all of the details and show you
some photos. So let's get going. So the lounge is in Terminal 2, past the South Security Checkpoint.
So it's going to be around here, close to the Delta Sky Club. The lounge is 12,000 square feet,
which is a pretty good size. It'll be open from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day, except for Saturdays
when it closes a little bit earlier at 7 p.m. Here is a statement from the head of Amex Travel
about the lounge. The Centurion Lounge is one of our card members' favorite travel benefits,
and the new location at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport offers card members the premium
amenities they love in an airport they frequently travel through. With a menu created by three
award-winning chefs, dedicated workstations, access to complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi,
quiet nooks for relaxation, and more, there is something for every type of traveler to enjoy.
So that was a statement in their press release, but now let's actually show you some
photos of the lounge. So this is what Amex put out in the press release. Here we have
the seating area with their famous dog, and I think it's an impressionist style.
Then we have the bar and buffet area. Then we have a bit of a better shot of the bar,
with what looks like an interesting chandelier on the ceiling. Then we have another seating area
with armchairs, a lot of interesting art, and also this kind of like wooden trim on the wall
that looks very traditional. It's kind of interesting as well. Amex says what is unique
about this lounge is that travelers can actually enjoy food from three award-winning chefs from
Miami, San Francisco, and Philadelphia. It also features floor-to-ceiling windows with views of
the airfield, and there are some other blogs already online with more photos from, I think
they might have had a preview tour, for example, The Points Guy has some good photos. If you want
to see more of the lounge, maybe I'll put a link to his article down below or something.
But how do you get in? Well, you will need the Platinum or Centurion card for access.
Centurion card holders get free guests. Platinum card holders do not. They have to pay $50 per
guest up to $2 unless you've spent over $75,000 a year on the card. Delta Reserve card holders,
that is the top-level Amex Delta card, also get access to the Centurion lounge when they are
flying Delta, and they have the same restrictions as Platinum card holders when it comes to guests.
I'll put links to all of the cards that have access, well except the Centurion card because
it's invite only, but the Platinum and the Reserve card. I'll put links to them below because you can
use those to access the Centurion lounges. So if you are interested in picking up one of those cards
or just learning more about it, do click the link down below in the description. In my opinion, it
looks like a really good lounge and it is the first credit card branded lounge to open at DCA Airport.
The other airport in the Washington DC area, IAD, has a Capital One lounge and a Chase Sapphire
lounge already. Now, I have been to DCA once and my flight was delayed for an hour, and at that time
I remember not being able to get into a lounge. Okay, there was no lounge that I actually had
access to, so this would have been really handy. After this one opens, next year there will be two
more opening. One is at Tokyo's Haneda Airport, and the other is at Newark Liberty Airport in New Jersey,
which serves the New York City area, and that just happens to be my local airport, so I'm really
looking forward to that one. All right guys, that is the video for today. Let me know what you think
of the new lounge, and we'll see you in the next one. Bye-bye.
