Week 2: the Alps - S1E4

So we just arrived in Genova. First we had to find our way through the busy traffic, through all these scooters. And we found a place to park the bikes and go for breakfast right there. So it's nice to be back on the mainland again. We're gonna enjoy Italy from now. So we're in a completely different scenery now. We just arrived in the Alps. We are at the beginning of Passo di Agnello. And we are here in a very small mountain village. And we are going into this village where it is like the time has stood still for about 100 years. Very good. So we are a bit late in the season because the camping where we were heading off to was already closed. And we came to this beautiful little village where they have a bed for breakfast. They actually closed as well. But we asked an old lady and she's like yeah fine I will make your bed ready and prepare everything. They are so nice and so friendly. Oh my god my hands are shaking. But not for nothing because we made it to the top of the Sommelier. And we did all this. I did this to myself. For this amazing view. Look at this. 3000 meters. We just did it. Sometimes you do have to accept that you can't do everything as a beginner. And this part is way too hard for me. Even walking down is really steep. So it's quite hard for me to say that I'm not gonna do it by myself. I go by walk. And my hero is gonna drive the bikes down. Thank you. We just came down from the highest paved pass in Europe which is called the Liseran. And we just found this place to have our lunch. And a great view on this hairpin here. We got ourselves some lovely Beaufort cheese. Just from the other man. From the? How do you call this? Just from the cheese ADM. Well unfortunately this is the last time we put up the tent for this holiday. Because right now we are back in Ben La Ben where we started two weeks ago. And tomorrow it will just be the highway back to the Netherlands. So this is going to be our last evening of our adventure. But we just had an amazing time. Definitely. Yeah we were about to go for a great trip to Cape Town for six months. And because of the Covid this was the best we could get. Two weeks off. But it was an amazing time. It was really great.
