The House of Representatives blocked an attempt to stop an impending vote to fine Attorney General Merrick Garland $10,000 per day for refusing to supply Special Prosecutor Robert Hur's subpoenaed audiotaped interview with President Joe Biden until he hands them over. The chamber has two days to set up a vote on its floor.
The House also voted to pass the SAVE act, which would bar non-citizens from voting in federal elections. The legislation will head to the Senate.
