We've all had a Big Mac.
Yes, they are delicious,
but have you had a Big Mac Sloppy Joe?
Everybody loves a Sloppy Joe.
Everybody loves a Big Mac.
Let's marry them together and it's going to be divine.
Trust me, don't think this is weird.
Don't knock it until you try it.
It only takes about 10 minutes from start to finish.
Let's get to cooking.
First things first, we are going to put a little bit
of olive oil down here on our griddle top.
And now in the beef,
you probably want to use about a good 80, 20 beef
just for that fat consistency.
Let's go ahead and just chop up that beef.
Just get it nice and pieced out.
As far as the seasoning goes,
all you're going to need is salt and pepper.
And that's it.
So once we get this nice and chopped,
add some salt and pepper and a little bit of onion.
Now you want to save some of your onion.
Do not use all of your onion
because if you know a true build of a Big Mac,
you'll know what I mean at the end.
We're going to flip this around, let it cook down,
probably about a good five minutes.
Let's talk about the actual Sloppy Joe sauce.
Now, Sloppy Joe sauce, it's easy.
It's only a few ingredients, right?
All you're gonna need is about a half a cup here of ketchup
and about two tablespoons or so of mustard.
And then a little bit of Worcestershire sauce.
Worcestershire, Worcestershire.
And then about a tablespoon of brown sugar.
Mix it together.
And then do not put this sauce on your beef
until your beef is pretty much done.
The reason I say this is because there's sugar in this,
so you don't want it to be nice and sticky
on your griddle top.
Once this is nice and mixed up,
then let's go back over to our beef and check it out.
Let's mix up this meat a bit, chop it up real good here.
You want to get that crispy texture
like you would at McDonald's.
And then once you see that crispiness,
it's time to add the sauce to it.
Now, I like to kind of make a mound
so that sauce doesn't kind of go crazy everywhere.
Once you get that sauce on, give it a good little toss
and maybe let it sit on your griddle for 15, 20 seconds
enough for the sauce to get heated.
And then we're going to talk about the buns.
Now, the buns are important, y'all,
because if you know, you know,
and you've got to have those seeded buns,
and sesame seeds, the sesame seed buns.
So I've already preheated my griddle on low here.
I've got a little bit of olive oil already down.
You can use butter too.
And then I'm just going to simply open it and do this.
I'm going to make three today.
Let's go ahead and pull this meat off
because like I said, it's looking pretty good.
Let me go check on these buns here.
Probably about another 20 seconds or so,
and then we'll come back and we're going to start building.
Time to build my favorite part.
Now, it is sloppy Joe,
so don't be afraid to pile on that meat, y'all.
Pile it up nice and high,
and then you're going to start adding that special sauce.
Special sauce is key.
You don't want too much.
You won't want too little.
You got to have that finely shredded lettuce on top.
Then comes that cheddar cheese, those crispy pickles,
and last but certainly not least, those diced onions.
Close that sesame seed bun,
and y'all, it is ready to eat.
My goodness.
All right, I'm going to have to cut this big guy in half,
so I'm going to move this over.
I'm going to pick up this guy right here
because he's looking real good.
Now, a sloppy Joe, you normally don't cut it in half,
but y'all, I'm on camera, and let's be honest,
I don't want to be making a mess all over myself.
Cut it in half here.
All right.
Can we get a closeup, y'all?
I mean, look at that.
A beauty.
Okay, it's already going.
Here we go.
Mm.
Oh my God.
If I close my eyes,
I see me pulling through the McDonald's driveway,
but yet I see me at home on a weeknight.
It's a beautiful mixture.
Trust me.
Y'all, you got to try this.
Absolutely incredible, whether it's poolside,
whether it's an easy weeknight meal.
Don't forget, you got to keep it quick,
got to keep it simple,
and most importantly, you've got to keep it delicious.
My name is Taylor Mock,
and I'll see you on the next episode.
Cheers.
Mm.
Mm, mm, mm.
