After the CCP recently announced a new regulation on the punishment of Taiwanese independence activists of separatist countries for inciting the crimes of separatist countries,
the US Administration and the Legislative Yuan expressed condemnation.
Members of Congress and the two parties are concerned that the Beijing authorities are accelerating the destruction of the cross-strait situation.
Members said that the CCP's new regulation is a bit out of line.
There are also members who say that Beijing's action is inciting instability.
On Friday, the relevant departments of the CCP jointly issued 22 opinions.
The crimes of separatist countries defined by the opinions include
1. Establishing a separatist organization and planning an action barrier.
2. By enacting, modifying, or abolishing regulations related to Taiwan,
or by promoting public opinion, etc.,
to somehow change the legal status of part of Taiwan's China.
In addition, in accordance with the Beijing-announced regulations,
3. Promoting Taiwan's participation in international organizations or foreign official contacts, military contacts,
and the use of authority in education, culture, history, news media, etc.,
to greatly distort and tamper with the so-called part of Taiwan's China,
which is also considered a punishment.
What is most concerned is that those who are so-called primitives or those who commit serious crimes
can be sentenced to life imprisonment or more than 10 years in prison.
Among them, those who are particularly harmful to the country and the people,
those who are particularly vicious, can be sentenced to death.
In addition, those who incite and divide the country's prisoners
can be sentenced to more than five years in prison.
Ami Bella, chairman of the Democratic Party of the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee,
said in an interview with the American Voice on Wednesday,
I think this is a bit of an overstatement.
What I want to emphasize again is that the people of Taiwan should choose their own future.
Bella emphasized,
Our view is that the situation is peaceful, prosperous, and stable for everyone in the region, including China.
There is no need to change the situation.
Carlos Jiménez, Republican Senator from Florida, said in an interview,
Under a communist dictatorship, there is no freedom of thought.
Therefore, I 100% support Taiwan.
I have never been a fan of the CCP.
I think the CCP poses the greatest threat to our freedom and way of life.
I support Taiwan and support their view of this matter.
This once again proves the brutality and stubbornness of the CCP.
Czech Republican Senator from Massachusetts,
said in an interview with the American Voice,
These new regulations that support Taiwan independence are punishable by death sentences.
The CCP is inciting instability.
After the CCP announced the new rules,
Taiwan President Lai Ching-de made a response on Monday,
Democracy is not a crime.
Autocracy is a crime.
The CCP has no right to sanction the people of Taiwan.
Just because of the people of Taiwan's claim,
The CCP has no right to pursue the people of Taiwan.
I call on the CCP to recognize the existence of the Republic of China
and to engage in dialogue with the legitimate government of Taiwan.
Lai Ching-de then said,
If we don't do this, the relationship between Taiwan and China will only get worse.
Lai Ching-de said,
According to the CCP's view,
If you don't agree with unification, you are a Taiwanese.
In other words,
Whether it's the Taiwan faction, the Republic of China faction,
or the Republic of China-Taiwan faction,
In the eyes of the CCP, they are all Taiwanese.
Beijing has always called its self-proclaimed misogynist Taiwanese workers
Lai Ching-de is a separatist.
Lai Ching-de said in a speech in May,
The Republic of China and the People's Republic of China do not belong to each other.
The CCP expressed dissatisfaction
and conducted targeted military exercises around Taiwan.
