Van Life in Mexico (Ep - 4)

So we just, we've been through a few military checkpoints, but that's the first one where they kind of stopped us. They came in the van, checked it out a little bit, not a lot, looked in the glove box, walked back there. Kurt was in the bed. They talked to him and saw the cats. Very nice. And we're back on the road. I'd say three to four minutes. Yeah. All right. So we're having a little breakfast. We're at this little cafe. Brisa is helping us out here. Say hi, Brisa. And we're uploading some videos. The upload speeds are really slow. We got some bacon and eggs and pancakes. Look at the size of these pancakes. They're so thick and fluffy. Snow's going to have some, having some coffee. Say hey, Snow. Hey. So we're in a little town where we're about to head south through the desert down towards where the whales are. We're Nuevo, I think. Something like that. We stopped here to get some breakfast and this place has some free Wi-Fi, which is awesome. So we're drinking a couple of cups of coffee, trying to get at least some of our videos uploaded. We're having to learn this whole Wi-Fi and another country thing. But it's all good. We'll get it. Right? So there we go. There's our internet speed. Got a video uploading, right? We actually have two uploading guys, two videos. They brought us chips and salsa and the coffee is self-serve. It's a great little place. Sorry about the video, guys, but it has been a long, hard day here in Mexico. We've been really fortunate and had some super cool days. It's been terrible. But it has been a rough day. We, uh, it started off and it rained all night last night and we were booned out camping or stealth camping. We actually stayed at a paid place, but super nice place. I'm sure you've already seen that by now. But, um, when we left out of there, we came on some very, very, very muddy roads. And, uh, which means the whole undercarriage of the van is caked with mud as well as the outer side is, is just, so the van needs a thorough cleaning. No big deal. But, uh, and then we had to upload some videos for you guys and, uh, we just played total heck getting those things uploaded. We had issues with our, our service and the wifi that we could find was super slow and just on and on and on. We, we found this restaurant, had some really good foods, really good service, super nice people, free wifi, um, and free bathrooms. But we stepped out of the van and almost fell down just in the mud. So slipped, probably slipped. It was so slippery, like three inches of mud caked down our shoes. And, um, so anyway, it's late, it's dark and, uh, we still got a little bit longer to go to upload one of our videos. And then we've got to commit the, uh, the cardinal error of driving in Mexico in dark to find a spot. Which was not the plan, guys. We know better. But on iOverlander, there's a gas station here in this little town that everybody had said, you know, we could park there. When we went and asked, they told us no. So there are no real good choices in this little town. So we got to head about 20 something miles out of town at night, which you don't do, but at least it's Baja. If we got to do it, this is the safest place to do it. Yeah. And it's the main road. It's 1D and we've traveled a lot of, we've probably been two, 300 miles on this highway already. And so we know the road is in pretty good shape. We're going to take it easy. We've got the exterior lights, which are going to help. Yeah. And so we should be good. So Snow just took over the driving. And you guys are not going to believe this, but she's out exploring. What are you doing, Snow? It's easier to drive through the cactuses than walk. Your feet should know that from this morning. In case Kurt tries to cut it from the video, he went out into the cactus area with flip-flops and got stuck twice. Twice. So we're kind of going through this stretch of land through the cactus and deserts. And we come up on this little restaurant. I'm just going to show you guys. Snow hasn't seen it yet. I've already kind of been in. But it's kind of authentic. The feeling of just knowing that I love you. If you got the time. Forever in this state of happiness with you. With you. Taking a peek inside Sue and Henry's RV. I won't go all the way in with the camera then. Yeah, you did an amazing job. This was all cupboards. So when I was cooking, there was cupboard, microwave, hood vent. And I had to kind of, because I'm tall, right? So did you buy the shell? Was this like kind of old and then you bought it?
