Dvořák's 1892 triptych "Nature, Life and Love" consists of three overtures: In Nature's Realm, Carnival and Othello. Premiered in Prague shortly before he left for New York to become director of the National Conservatory of Music, the work served as a musical farewell and welcome for the conductor-composer. He performed it at Carnegie Hall on his first American programme.

Dvořák's description of Carnival is as follows:

"The lonely, contemplative wanderer reaches the city at nightfall, where the carnival is in full swing. On every side there is the clatter of instruments, mingled with shouts of joy and the unrestrained merriment of the people, who give vent to their feelings in their songs and dances".

The video was taken in the Gantrisch region, Switzerland by Simone Schlegel and was edited by Wenjing Ma.
