Hi!
I love to share this story because it gives me faith in humanity.
So we were cycling in Western Sahara. We are on this main road along the coast in the middle
of the desert. There was just little huts on the coast that are guarded by army people.
So we go to one, we ask the guy can we camp around here and he's like yes, no problem.
The wind is crazy and we don't know how our tents will hold for the night so we don't put them up.
The guy comes back to us, shows us another house, 500 meters from him,
where some fishermen live but that are away for the night. So he tells us that we can sleep there.
So he opens the house for us, we make ourselves at home, we have our dinner, everything. Maybe
an hour later we hear the noise of a car and someone calling us and there we see some guys
and that's of course the fishermen that just came back and we're thinking oh god we are in their
house without their permission. Today they say they can go sleep somewhere else which of course
we disagree with because come on it's their house. So we insist that they at least sleep in the same
room as us and they agree on that and they still put a sheet in the middle of the room so it's
separated in two and that we can have some sort of privacy and that was so cute.
The next morning they invite us for tea, breakfast.
We take photos of each other and say goodbye and there we go back on our bicycles to the Sahara
thinking what a crazy story you know like those guys were supposed to be angry that we broke in
their house and that I don't know that's what I love about traveling is those cultural differences
and also to realize how human can be good and generous and nice and not expecting anything
in return. I hope you like this video as well and there will be some more. Stay tuned, bye!
