The North
I'm Martin from Dreams on Tracks and today we talk about the five
best things about cycling in Norway. Number one, wild camping.
As most people know, camping in Scandinavian countries is allowed, it's free and
it's amazing.
Number two, animals.
There are few animals that you will barely see anywhere else in Europe and that is the moose and
the reindeer.
Number three, ferries.
Number three, ferries. Ferries are connecting the whole coastline of Norway and there are little ferries, there are big ferries,
there is the famous Hurtigruten. You have a nice break from cycling.
You are very likely to meet other cyclists because they all have to take the ferries or they all take the ferries.
It's an amazing view
along the coast, not too expensive for Norwegian standards. Sometimes it's even free because the people who check the tickets are
very generous with cyclists.
Number four, the landscapes.
Norway in general is very sparsely populated and
there are not many people so you see a lot of
wilderness, a lot of nice landscapes. You have mountains, you have the fjell, you have the sea, the fjords and
the combination of all of this together.
Number five,
the north. The north is a very special place in Norway. You have the famous Nordkapp
which is quite touristy, but still quite nice.
Next to the Nordkapp there are other roads and you can reach it with the Hurtigruten. It's very isolated,
there is not much apart from rocks and wind. It's a very special atmosphere and if you're lucky you might see an arctic fox.
So that are the best things about Norway.
We will start a video series about what are the best things and the worst things about the countries we cycled through.
