The Match That Made Cristiano Ronaldo Hate Lionel Messi

Not for the first time, Mourinho has sought to assume ownership of the big event Which contains as ever, big players 9 of the team who won the World Cup Final for Spain United then, divided now And on top of them, Ronaldo and Messi And so many, many more Just crashing now with Keita Just a free kick Incidentally, Real Madrid have 4 players within a yellow card of missing the second leg Barcelona have none A run at Marcelo Viers hits! Too far away That's a decent strike from David Vier Marcelo would have been pleased to see him running inside Because then he's normally running into white shirts But he skips past one or two And if he just gets his foot round that a little bit more He can give Casillas plenty to think about Goalkeeper at absolute full stretch It's a kneel in the last 16 Here's Messi Deflecting that record, as he habitually does A bit of a linear Actually probing to require Marcelo to head out That one as well, that big switch out to David Vier They've used that a lot in the opening 23 minutes Skidded away from a pair of them And rolled it in here for Xavi Good stop, Casillas Gorgeous pass Brilliant ball again, wasn't it? As soon as Messi picks that up He's already seen the run Xavi's onside, times it perfectly Does exactly the right thing, just turns and hits it As well as Abelard Two of them between them get the job done Let's try again with Gabriel Clark Well, these are points about Ronaldo Who's not looking happy It has to be said Not impressed with this tactical master plan To stick with Xavi An adventurous hit Which is never really a threat After good patient build-up, that's a waste from Xavi By his standards, he's a lot better than that Usually once he gets there, he may be looking to just thread something There wasn't a lot of other options further forward Messi, clear of Pepe In for Vier Cover from Albiol Real Madrid were shouting handball Matters little, goal kick given Lucky, good little spot again As Messi gets the opportunity to just get the ball out of his feet You know he's always looking to just Thread it between people That time David Vier makes it, Albiol and Ramos It's Pepe's header He once actually hit the crossbar in the cup final last week He's a powerful player, there's no question about that That free kick's coming in from an awful long way To really make Valdez worry He will get his head to things And he's had a bit of him again Barcelona right round the referee Their suggestion being that Di Maria went too easily to ground Alves Had his collar felt by the referee And by Ozil And there's another event Off the ball near the halfway line Yes, Pedro Pizarro's laying on the floor Holding his face Well this was bound to happen That happened in La Liga Arm or elbow, the referee's having nothing to do with it Another challenge by Alves And this time the card is coming out Danny Alves in the book Goes in white, suggesting not a moment too soon It's a cleaner try Came back off the goalkeeper Ozil against Valdez And Ramos into the crowd Big chance for Mesut Ozil Huge opportunity for Madrid It's the first time Ronaldo's been able to get the ball in an area Where he can really give Valdez something to think about It must have moved a lot Because the goalkeeper ends up saving it Contempt, feistiness Twitchiness, nervousness Decent strikes at either end But still Chelsea and Liverpool the first It was Messi, Pedro wide of it Pedro's delivery for Messi And came back out for Busquets Good play by Xavi Valdez Ronaldo against Creol Ronaldo again And Pique again Protected it from the Portuguese Awkward for Alves Pepe was muscular Not much though for the German referee Not much there Pepe, yeah Why wouldn't they want to stay fed this little guy Messi He's been tumbling over Ramos And out comes the card And Ramos misses the second leg He has a chance to win the ball there Sergio Ramos, he kind of steps over it Ends up body checking Messi in the end Drawing the yellow card and he's a big loss in the next game Pique, reclaimed by Pepe Now Barcelona Are surrounding the German referee As Alves ails He's going to take a view on this It's the sort of ball that Pepe's entitled to go for He rides out of one challenge And when the ball's in the loose In front of Dani Alves He's sent it off Real Madrid for the fourth time this season Down to ten men against Barcelona Mourinho bemused Pepe disbelieving Just a shade That side is safe Now Priol has gone hurtling in On Ronaldo He might light up the free kick here In by Alonso Ronaldo He's had a goal in the cup final A week ago That may well be up And a bounce back off Casillas On to the head of Pedro Who has stayed down Quite why only he knows Certainly no one in white does Nor are they showing him any sympathy And away from Albiol He's gone over the challenge of Tiara Free kick Barca Ronaldo Another free kick which may appeal to Ronaldo Yep It's his sort of territory His sort of distance It's just the second challenge there from Pique That arm coming up a little Cristiano Ronaldo Got it up but not down Afali Away from Marcelo Messi's lead in Madrid And it's him again Engulfed by those who adore him Much credit to Afali But goal 51 of the season For Lionel Messi No real Messi He's still got the ball you know He wants to pick it up And this time it is the boss But here's Messi Away from two, three, four Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful How good is he A near supernatural goal From Lionel Messi He has wriggled and tiptoed his way To the gates of Wembley Stadium He is just brilliant Best player in the world Bar none Whilst there's a lot of players out there Content with 1-0 Keeping the ball, keeping possession Every time he's had it in the last 10 or 15 minutes He still wants more, he's looking for more Look at the pace, look at the speed Look at the intricacy of the touch, the control Well thank heavens for Lionel Messi An ugly match Beautified By football's greatest beautifier Messi's two late goals, one spectacular After Mourinho and his men Had lost their rag And lost their place in the tie He was dismissed, Pepe was dismissed
