Congratulations.
This is Eric and Dell up in the booth.
A fantastic work.
I'm sure you know, but your first NBA triple double, how's it feel?
Uh, I mean, it feels great.
We got the win.
So yeah, I'm feeling great right now.
How is it that you're able to come back after playing emotional night last
night in New Orleans, just your brother to quickly turn around and then play
the game that you have here tonight.
Right.
Like I said, it's just basketball and I'm doing what I love.
I mean, I've been doing this ever since I was three, so it
come quite easy to me for real.
Lamela, I would think the rebounding would be the hardest
part of a triple double for you.
You weigh 181 pounds, but it looks like you're a natural rebounder.
What's the key during that?
I mean, I played a lot of 21 growing up, so it's just a whole
lot of basketball for real.
It's pretty much just instincts, I guess.
How is it playing against Trey Young?
You guys have really played well against him.
He's yet to hit a three and two game, struggled really.
What's been the key there guarding him?
Uh, pretty much just locking in on him, closing in.
I mean, coach had a great, uh, great starting report and we just
following it pretty much.
My boys, well, you already know.
All right, Lamela, paint the picture for me.
You guys are going to have a day off tomorrow.
You don't play again until Monday night against the Knicks.
Uh, your agenda for tomorrow.
How do you plan on enjoying your day off?
Uh, pretty much just chilling with my boy, JJ and the fam, and
then probably going to the gym, get some shots up and then on to the next day.
And I'm going to give you the last word.
Uh, two dunks that just, uh, brought my hair to a standstill.
You had Terry Rozier in the first half, Caleb Martin in the second half.
Which dunk do you take as the best of the night?
Both my boys, but damn, that's tough.
T-Roy had a cold move to a dunk, but yeah, Caleb's was, Caleb's was tough.
Good answer.
Uh, Lamelo, obviously you've come across as a man, a few words in one that is not
nearly as surprised as maybe we are as, as the early success that you've had in
just 10 games, that's a triple double in just 10 games, that's a franchise record.
Are you, I guess, sometimes more surprised at our reaction to
how good you have been so fast?
Uh, surprised about y'all reaction?
Yeah.
I mean, obviously you're, you seem to be someone who, you know,
sort of expected this success.
Yeah, for sure.
I mean, I live my life and I know what I'm capable of.
So yeah, stuff doesn't really move me like that, that I
know that's supposed to happen.
Richard Walker.
Uh, Lamelo, Richard Walker, Carolina sports shop.com.
Last night you were one, you know, one point or one assist away
from getting a triple double.
Did you know that after the game?
How soon did you know that?
And were you motivated to get one tonight when you got so close?
That's a quick question.
Uh, yeah, I figured I was one assist away after the game and then, well,
actually I knew during the game too, but then yeah, pretty much the next day.
I just knew we had another basketball game and came to it.
Like I come to every other basketball game.
Rod Boone.
Hello, Miller.
Offensively, you've been kind of getting better the last few games
through a seven straight on double figures.
How can you, uh, just, I guess, break down your improvement offensively
for the last week or so here?
Uh, quite easy.
Like I said, just let the game come to me.
That's pretty much it.
No, congrats on the win.
Um, I know you've accomplished a lot in your, or your
basketball career so far.
Do you ever get a chance?
Is this, where does this, this becoming the youngest to get the
kind of rank of what you've done in your career so far?
Have you not really processed it yet?
Yeah, not really processed it yet.
Probably when I look back on it, like after my career, I feel like
probably when I'm like 40 or something, then probably look back at everything.
Danny Thompson.
Hello, Danny.
It's Thompson with a three point conversion grad.
Congratulations on the win.
I know a lot of times you say it's about basketball, it's about winning.
But when you think about it for a second, you're not only the youngest
player to do it with a triple double in the NBA, but you're also the youngest
player in the NBL to have a triple double.
How does it feel to be the youngest in not only one, but two of the best
professional leagues in the world to have a triple double at your age?
Uh, I feel like it's a great accomplishment, but I feel like
it lies on for my family.
I feel like they're more proud of me.
So I'm good for my moms and pops.
But like I said, for me, I just go out there and play basketball.
We'll wrap it up with Richard Walker.
The team is five and five.
Did you think, what expectations did you have coming into the year?
Because obviously a lot of people, you know, did not predict great
success for the Hornets, but what did you think?
And is five and five acceptable to you?
And what do you see the future moving forward?
I really just came in motivated.
I mean, I came in wanting to win and then looking at five and five, I feel
like we could have been better than five and five, to be honest right now.
But like I said, we move forward instead of behind and we just
going to keep on trying to get wins.
Ain't talking money.
I'm an ignorant.
Stack money.
Check my stats.
I perform.
Road running.
Switching states like I'm torn.
Everything foreign.
Hopping out phones.
Always been awkward.
Never did the norm.
Been trying to win.
Then I go record.
Taking breaks.
