This is your copycat Chick-fil-A chicken club sandwich.
And trust me, you're not going to want to go back
and sit through that drive-through.
Once you taste it from the comfort of your home
without spending that extra money, you're going to love it.
Let's get to cooking.
Now, marinating your chicken is super important key
to this recipe.
Now, you can do this overnight,
let it get nice and yumminess,
all those flavors in that marinade,
or you can do it a couple of hours before,
whatever floats your boat.
But you can't miss any of these ingredients
because that's what makes it authentic to Chick-fil-A.
So we're going to start out with some milk.
Then we're going to add a little bit of pickle juice.
Oh yes.
Then get this powdered sugar.
Yep, powdered sugar, onion powder, garlic powder,
a little bit of salt and pepper and paprika.
And you're just going to mix it all together there.
And for me, I've already done this the night before.
So this is ready to go onto the riddle.
But first things first, we got to talk about the bacon.
Now, if you know the Chicken Club at Chick-fil-A,
you know they've got some nice bacon
and this is a nice thick cut.
If you're going to be authentic,
you got to do two slices of bacon on here per sandwich.
Because that's just how they do it at Chick-fil-A.
We're going to add a little bit of olive oil down.
You can use avocado oil, you can use peanut oil,
whatever your little heart desires.
And adding the chicken to the griddle top.
Now, today we're using some chicken breasts.
There's tons of ways you can go with this,
but for authenticity of Chick-fil-A,
we're going to use the good old chicken breasts.
We're going to let this cook down for quite a few minutes.
So I'm going to go wash my hands and then we'll be back.
So of course, cook your bacon however you like it.
For me, I like it nice and crispy,
right in the middle there.
We're going to pull the bacon off to the side,
get all that grease nice and drained.
Let's move over to the chicken here.
Now, I want you to really watch your chicken
while it's cooking,
just because it's got that powdered sugar in the marinade,
it can quickly burn.
So just keep kind of babysitting it,
flipping it here and there.
Now we're going to talk about the buns.
It is time to toast them.
And for me, I love to toast them in the bacon grease
that we have leftover on the griddle here.
So I'm just going to put these down.
I've got my heat on low for this, by the way, right on low.
Let those cook down, crispify, probably about a minute,
and then we'll pull them off and then we'll start building.
So today we are using some pepper jack cheese,
courtesy of the Chick-fil-A recipe,
but of course you can use whatever cheese you want to.
We're going to slap it on the chicken,
let it get nice and ooey gooey melted.
And now it's time to build our sandwich.
Now this is the way they build it.
They do lettuce, a little bit of tomato.
We got to add some pickles.
Now I'm just going to be honest with you,
pickles don't come on the chicken club,
but mama Taylor wants the pickles.
So we're going to add the pickles.
We're going to add that yummy chicken.
Now I'll be honest, the chicken breast that I picked,
ended up being a little too small
for these multigrain buns.
So I'm going to double up my chicken.
I'm going to put two pieces of chicken here,
and then you got to put crisscross way,
two pieces of crispy bacon.
And then on the top part of the bun,
you're going to want to add that Chick-fil-A sauce.
By the way, you can totally buy this pre-made in the store.
How awesome is that these days?
And now it is time to taste.
These things are huge, but here's what I'm going to do.
I'm going to cut it in half because I feel like,
I feel like that danger zone song
needs to come on right now.
So we're going to chop it right down in the middle.
I can hear that crispiness from the bun already.
Okay.
This side, this side.
Look at that y'all.
Absolutely deliciously juicy.
All right, my mouth is watering.
Here we go.
Mm, mm, mm-hm, mm-hm-hm.
Wow.
I hate to say this, but I might put Chick-fil-A
out of business when it comes to this family
because I don't think I'm ever going to go back
because this is what I crave all the time.
And it tastes just like it.
I mean, the marinade's key in this.
Marinade is everything, and so is that sauce.
But wow, I'm blown away by how incredibly similar
this tastes to that drive-thru Chick-fil-A.
So you can do this too, and trust me,
this would be perfect for poolside picnics,
poolside birthday parties, you name it.
But remember, at the end of the day,
you always want to keep it quick,
got to keep it simple,
and you most importantly have to keep it delicious.
My name is Taylor Mock,
and I will see you on the next episode.
Cheers.
Mm, mm, mm, mm-hm, mm-hm.
