I'm currently traveling on the Chuo Line...
I've arrived at Shinjuku, the station with the highest number of daily users in Japan. It's my first time
in Tokyo in a year.I can hear all kinds of sounds. It
's 22:30 and I'm at the Shinjuku Expressway Bus Terminal. Arrival
Today I'm heading from Tokyo to Osaka by night bus.
It's commonly known as "Busta Shinjuku." This is my first time using it. The terminal seems to be on the 4th floor.
Maybe it's because it's a Saturday or Sunday, but the waiting room is quite crowded even though it's this time of day.
It's amazing. Number of buses
This time, I will take the ``Dream Sleeper'' bus from Nara Kotsu which departs at 23:15.However, it
is still a crowded place.I am not the type of person who longs to come to Tokyo, but it is fun to come here once in a while.10
minutes before the departure time Then, my bus arrived.
This is Japan's only fully private express bus with 11 seats.
When boarding, take off your shoes at this point and enter the bus. Your shoes will be handed to you in a bag.
The inside of the car is small, but there is one seat on each side, separated by a partition. The
A3 seat is the accommodation we will be staying at tonight. There
is no key, but if you close the door, you will be in a completely private room.At
23:15, you will arrive at Shinjuku Bus Terminal. The journey will take 7 hours and 45 minutes and is scheduled to get off in front of Osaka Station at 7:00 tomorrow. The
fare is ¥9,000 fare + ¥11,000 seat fee, totaling ¥20,000.By
the way, if you take the Tokaido Shinkansen, the time it takes from Tokyo to Osaka is 3. You can go there for about 15,000 yen per hour.It
takes time and money, but I've always wanted to ride it at least once. The
price is very high for a night bus, but it has plenty of amenities. Water, masks, eye masks, toothbrush sets, blankets, etc.
These buttons on the side allow you to electrically recline the seat.According
to Japanese law, you must always fasten your seatbelt when driving on the road, so it is fully flat.
This is the second time in my life that I have used a night bus.The first time was 9 years ago when I took a cheap bus with 4 rows of seats to Tokyo to go to a
doujinshi distribution event in Ariake. , I had the experience of not being able to sleep at all until the next day when I participated in a race.Since
then, I had decided that I would never use a night bus again, but on the contrary, I decided to use it again this time because I wanted to get to know the highest quality. I decided to take a look.It
was dark and I couldn't really see, but I entered the Metropolitan Expressway.Even though the date was about to change, there was a traffic jam.By
the way, there was a toilet right next to my seat.It
was a clean toilet, but it was very small. Therefore, it may be difficult for overweight people. This
is the positional relationship.Each
seat has a table, and if you put a 16-inch laptop on it, it will look like this. There
is also a USB-A port and AC 100V outlet on the side for charging devices. It's good that you don't have any trouble with it.
Apparently, you can use free Wi-Fi with unlimited connections.
Once connected, I was able to access my Youtube channel without any
problem. Although it was a little unstable, I was able to play the video.
The date also changed. So it's time to close my eyes.
1:15 I'm going to take a break at Ashigara SA in Shizuoka Prefecture.
I'll stretch my body a little outside, then go back to the car and go back to sleep. Good night.
5:45 It's getting brighter
in Oita. The important thing is sleep. , I was able to sleep for about 2 and a half hours, although it was light.
Looking at the map, it looks like I just entered Osaka. I plan to arrive at Osaka Station in about an hour.
My impressions after using this time are the night buses. I thought again that it was a night bus.The
seats seemed to be made with care, but they didn't suit my body and I got tired after a long time. It's definitely not suitable for nervous people, including myself, but
it's still perfect. Since it was a private room, I didn't feel tired at all in terms of privacy.I didn't feel the presence of other people, and it was nice that I didn't have to pay attention to my surroundings. Will
I use the night bus again? If you ask me that question, I would say no, but I think it would be a good idea to ride it once as an experience and something to talk about.I
get off the Hanshin Expressway.This
time I was able to sleep for 2 and a half hours, which is the longest time I have ever slept in a chair. It's definitely the longest.
I think it's tough for people who don't sleep sitting in a chair in the first place. One night feels very long.
At first, there were traffic jams in Tokyo, but I slept every two hours on the way. We arrived at Osaka Station a little earlier than scheduled while changing drivers.Rather
than thinking about the price of traveling from Tokyo to Osaka in 7 and a half hours for 20,000 yen, we decided to take the bus and enjoy the added value of the journey.
I'd like to refrain from taking that overnight trip, but if there's any interesting transportation, I'd like to take it again in the future.Thank you
for taking care of me overnight.Thank
you for driving the long distance. Now
, I'm going to take another conventional line to Takamatsu. Let's go then
