I want to go for something warm.
That's not true, I took a lot at home.
That's true.
We are now in Belgium and there's a lot of off-road cycling which is really nice
and a lot of height difference which we like.
Very nice views and we're not used to it
so we really have to get into the groove again.
Also with our packing routine and our cycling routine.
Hi.
Yeah, we kind of totally lost it, I guess.
I'm really enjoying it.
It's so beautiful and the weather is really on our side.
We have arrived here in a beautiful forest along the border with Belgium and the Netherlands.
We are now looking for a proper spot like a flat piece.
So there's possibly some deer here in the woods.
So we shouldn't be surprised if there's any barking during the night.
That's pretty scary.
That is pretty scary indeed, yes.
But we can find a place.
We just have to scout the area and then we will find a snug place for us to stay this night.
It's beautiful, huh?
It's yeah, it's gorgeous, yeah.
And there's this really nice woods aroma.
I like it a lot, yeah.
So we're now cooking our dinner.
It's gonna be soup tonight with some pre-cut vegetables.
Very easy and we have our new titanium pan we're going to test out.
I just got this wooden kind of spatula.
Simple and yeah.
We have a kind of debate with the lady behind the camera.
We should put couscous in there.
I'm all for it but she's not.
So yeah, I'm gonna do it because I'm the cook.
Maurie already ate some bread and I want to go for something warm this morning.
So I'm preparing some, let me show you down there.
There it is.
Some muesli, not oatmeal because oatmeal gets really cardboardy.
But muesli has a much better texture so I'm going for that.
So we have new titanium cookware and it's super lightweight.
But it's not easy to cook on because it gets scorched really easily.
We both had a really good night's sleep here in the woods.
There were some deer.
Erik heard some deer barking.
But furthermore it was a really nice and tranquil night besides the birds.
And yeah we really feel super good and it's so nice to be back in the woods again.
Here on the bikes you just slow down and yeah it's so different.
When you're back home you have like so much appointments and expectations from
friends, family, work and all the things that you want to do.
But when you're here you just have to enjoy your time with what's around you.
And yeah that's a great feeling.
Erik is now setting up a film shot here behind me.
I don't know if you can see him.
Somewhere over there with the tripod.
This filming stuff takes really a lot of time.
I think we woke up around 8 and it's now already like 11.30 or 12 o'clock.
Especially if you're doing it solo.
We're doing it with the both of us together so we can film each other as well.
In the movie like it's 10 minutes and we put all those nice shots after each other.
And we make it look very easy but it's very time consuming.
It's just a lot of work but a lot of fun to do as well.
It's amazing to be back on the bikes again.
And it also makes me reflect on the time we have spent home.
And we had a wonderful welcome.
Of course the corona was certainly specific with the quarantine at first.
But there were many people helping us out.
So I want to reach out to those people.
Thank you very much.
And yeah adventure is coming.
So we have our plans and we can't wait to be out on the road for a longer time.
So hope you will join us.
Yeah we're now chilling here in a super random place at a potato field.
And we're gonna make our dinner.
Penne rigata with some vegetarian meatballs and some nice cheese.
What do you reckon?
What do you say?
Do you feel like cooking?
Of course.
Throw it all in a pan and let's do it.
Only on camera it feels like cooking.
That's not true.
I cook a lot at home.
That's true.
Yeah and he can cook really well.
So I'm really lucky.
