I'm starting to speak now.
We're going to Paris.
We're going to Paris, you guys.
I'm so excited.
We're about to leave for the airport.
We're all packed up.
It's 8 p.m.
Our flight leaves at midnight.
So we are heading over to JFK.
This is the start of Pedro and I's six weeks of traveling.
We're going to be going to so many different places.
First stop is Paris.
Let's go to the airport.
We've been chilling in the Air France lounge.
So nice.
We ate, we chilled.
Now we're going to go to the gate to board our flight.
Hello, you guys from Paris.
I haven't been to Paris since 2017.
So five years ago, I was going into my freshman year of college last time I was here.
And I came with my parents.
And so this is the first time that I'm here like as an adult with Pedro.
So we're really excited.
And also the last time he was here was like 2008.
Like he was young.
It's 4 p.m. right now.
We just got to our hotel, dropped off our bags.
And now we're going to head out to try to catch the sunset at the Eiffel Tower.
And then hopefully get some good dinner around that area.
We're staying in a hotel called Hotel Rocher-Schwart, which is close to Montmartre.
It's like a 30-minute subway from the kind of like Eiffel Tower central area.
So we're going to head out now and the sunset is in like an hour.
Let's get the rest of the day going.
Are you excited Pedro?
What are you doing?
Let's go.
Downward dog it.
Also, here's a little hotel room tour.
It's pretty small and cozy.
We got this really beautiful window.
Look a nice little view of the streets.
This is our bed.
Pedro.
Like all of our suitcases are kind of over here.
A little mirror over here.
The bathroom over here.
It's kind of retro vibes.
They gave us a little note and they left some Madeleines, which we already ate.
We just got off the train.
We're on our way to the Eiffel Tower.
It looks so pretty.
We're going to catch the sunset in perfect timing.
I think it's going to be so gorgeous.
We're going up the Eiffel Tower.
How are you feeling?
Warm enough.
My heart is starting to go up.
Today it's pretty cold.
So this actually feels really nice to get my heart rate up, get some steps and hit my step goal.
Just kidding.
I don't have step goals.
That's really helping me feel warmer.
They have like gloves, four layers.
And I'm excited to see the view at the top.
So intricate.
We're at the second floor.
Second level of the Eiffel Tower.
Literally so beautiful.
We can get like this panoramic view of the city.
And I was just telling Pedro like how wild that less than a day ago we were in the US, in New York.
And now we're in France, in Paris, in another continent experiencing something new and exciting.
Check this out.
All the Paris lights.
Right there is Les Invalides.
And then over there by that Ferris wheel is the Louvre.
So pretty.
The city is glowing.
Glowing, glowing, glowing.
I have to say day one is off to such a good start.
We are on our way to dinner.
Oh, I look green.
I look like the Wicked Witch of the West.
There's a really famous place in Paris called Les Relais d'Entrecôte.
Pretty sure both times I've come to Paris, I have gone there.
Very simple.
You go there, there's only steak frites and that's it.
So we're about to have some nice steak.
We haven't eaten that much today.
So I'm very hungry.
And I'm also kind of weirded out that I haven't been that hungry or hangry given I have not eaten that much.
So let's go get some steak frites.
This is insane.
Let's go.
As you guys saw, the line for Les Relais d'Entrecôte was literally down the whole block.
So insane.
Flabbergasted.
Christmas lights!
Wow, so nice.
Good morning from Paris.
Actually, I should say bonjour from Paris.
We just woke up.
It's Sunday morning.
Well, actually, we woke up a little bit ago and just finished getting ready.
This is the outfit of the day.
An all black situation, leather pants, three layers under this.
And then this black sweater from Abercrombie.
This scarf is new from Uniqlo.
And I'm also wearing my Lululemon little ear covers.
We are off to get like a late breakfast type of brunch situation near our hotel, hopefully.
Then we're probably going to explore Montmartre, just walk around.
So I'll bring you along.
It might be like a little pot with like jam, maybe?
We have been fed.
We had a really yummy Parisian breakfast.
The croissant was buttery and perfect.
It was like exactly the type of croissant that I like because I'm pretty picky with
croissants.
Like when they're hard and dry, it's just not it.
It's just not it.
But it was so good.
It was like perfectly crispy, perfectly buttery and soft inside and like doughy, delicious.
And then I had a little bit of an omelette, cappuccino.
Now we're going to explore.
How was your breakfast?
Good.
I need more from you, Gemini.
It was buttery, smooth, more buttery, more smooth.
Basilica of the Heart of Montmartre.
We are at...
What is it?
I can't speak French.
I was telling Pedro, let's go to Montmartre.
And he was like, Montmartre is a neighborhood.
I'm like, of course it's a neighborhood.
But if I tell you, let's go to Montmartre, this is what I mean.
This is what I mean.
It's the church on the top of the hill that you get the view of Paris.
No, it's the neighborhood.
Okay, what's the name of this place?
Basilica of the Heart of Montmartre.
Of Montmartre.
Pardon my French.
Pardon our French throughout this video.
It's us.
At the Basilica of the Heart of Montmartre.
It looks so far away.
Kiss my eye.
Merci.
Bravo.
We're walking around.
We just walked in front of the Louvre.
And we're going to try Eiffel Tower for a second time.
And see if it works.
Crossing the bridge over.
And then we're going to go to the Musée d'Orsay after lunch.
We're at the Musée d'Orsay.
Round 2.
Failure to get in.
Should have expected it to be super full.
But I think on the weekend, it's just impossible.
Unless you have a lot of patience and you're really willing to wait.
It's really hard to get in.
Clearly.
And it's now 5pm.
Or no, it's 4pm.
So the sun is going to set soon.
But we're going to the Luxembourg Gardens.
And then we're going to try to go to the museum.
And yeah.
Let's go.
You guys.
I need to do a moment of reality in this video.
Because I feel like a lot of the times, my vlogs and just content on social media can seem like highlight reels.
And the reality is that I'm very frustrated right now.
We tried to go to the Luxembourg Gardens.
And it was closed.
And we got there at 5pm.
And it closed at 4.30pm.
And then, we took an Uber to get to the Museum d'Orsay.
And then, it was closed.
Well, it closed at 6pm.
But the last entry was at 5pm.
And we got here at 5.15pm.
And I'm just frustrated.
Because I didn't do my research.
And I didn't look things up properly.
And I hate wasting time.
And just feeling like we're going from place to place.
And then we're not even able to do the activities we want to do.
Because it's closed.
And like, I want to be positive all the time.
But I also don't want to be fake.
And the reality is that I'm pretty pissed right now.
I'm upset.
And I'm trying to break out of the funk.
And get into a better energy.
So we can enjoy the rest of the day.
I'm just sulking a little bit right now.
But at least, the view is pretty.
That's very cool.
Are you going to get something?
Lots of people.
I'm debating if I want to try it.
I don't know if it's going to be very good or not good at all.
We got one hot chocolate for Pedro.
One mint choc for me.
And we're going to try it.
We've never tried them before.
I love cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg.
So this is really good.
What up?
We're going on the ferris wheel.
Where?
Actual ferris wheel.
Pedro keeps calling carousels ferris wheels.
The ferris wheel.
It's over, right?
It's too fast.
It was a one minute long.
I think it's going to turn around.
Really?
Yeah.
Really?
It's going to turn around.
Do you actually think so?
Yeah.
I don't know.
Up we go again.
We're in the ferris wheel.
We're getting a very cool view of Paris.
I feel like all we do is go up things.
So we can get views of the city.
Up we go.
The Louvre is over there.
Look Montmartre.
Eiffel Tower looking very pretty.
I think that's the Invalides appreciating the view.
We came to La Dauphine in the Mahay district.
Mahay?
Mahat?
Marais?
It's supposed to be a very popular iconic spot.
One of the spots we tried today that was not full.
Great.
Sorry that is not closed.
And it's very casual.
The line can get long but it goes by pretty quickly.
So we're waiting outside in the line.
And I'm trying to decide what I want.
I'm excited to try.
And then we're probably going to walk around a little bit.
But it's freezing.
Pro tip is looking up the restaurant you go to on Google Maps.
And seeing pictures that people post.
And figure out what's good.
Photos or menu.
And then you can see by the item.
Or you can click photos.
And then you click food.
Bonjour from a rainy Paris.
It's 10am right now.
And we're going to get breakfast.
And it's very rainy.
I'm trying to stay warm over here.
But it's actually less cold.
It's just more wet.
So we bought some umbrellas yesterday.
I'm just not using mine right now.
We're going to go to the museum today.
Have a cozy rainy day.
And show you guys everything we do.
Everything we eat.
Yeah, I'm in a great mood.
Pedro's not though.
I don't know why.
He's moody.
Hey, nice coat.
Some food in his body.
So he's not grumpy anymore.
I know.
Let's get you some food so you're not grumpy.
They put hazelnuts in it.
Very good.
We have made it to the Louvre.
Yes!
We bought tickets for the 12th floor.
It also stopped raining.
So we're going to take some pictures.
And then we're going to go inside and explore.
And enjoy the museum.
I'm excited to be back.
Have you been to the Louvre?
Maybe. I don't remember.
You're too young.
Look at this.
We made it.
So pretty.
Is it just me?
Or does anyone else just bring glasses?
Just for the pictures.
We're at the Louvre now.
A little break for some cake.
It's 2pm.
I'm a little hungry.
This is so good.
Hello Pedro.
It is now 3.30pm.
We spent 3 hours at the museum.
One of those hours
was finding a bathroom,
getting a snack.
We didn't look at the exhibits for 2 hours.
That was a crazy bike.
The museum was cool.
It was very hot in there.
And the coat rack was completely full.
So we had to carry our jackets
slash wear our jackets the whole time.
So we were sweating a lot.
And it feels really good being out in the fresh air.
And I really enjoyed it.
We saw all the main famous artworks.
Now we're just strolling around.
It's drizzling a little bit
but it feels really nice and cozy.
We're going to try to hit up some more spots
and then maybe have an early dinner
around 5.
It feels really nice.
What do you think so far of the day?
8 out of 10.
That's pretty good.
We'll see what the rest of the day entails.
Since we haven't been to Paris in a while,
it actually feels really nice to do more touristy stuff
and to really see
the historical parts of the city as well.
Just embrace it.
Embrace being a tourist.
It's so nice.
Notre Dame is under construction
because there was a big fire a few years ago.
Reconstruction.
It's under reconstruction.
But we wanted to come by and look at it
and I'm actually very happy we did
because it's still very stunning
even though it's still in the works.
We're also trying to appreciate the gloom
and sink into it.
It's kind of nice. It's cozy.
Cozy, cozy.
Cozy.
Hello again. It's us.
We just left the movie theater.
We finished our dinner kind of early
and then we just decided to go
watch Napoleon and it was really good.
It was kind of long so I fell asleep
in the last 20 minutes of the movie.
It was really nice.
And now we're going to go back to our hotel.
And it finally stopped raining
which is good.
Bonjour from our last morning
in Paris.
Mocking the red lips this morning.
Just checked out of our hotel.
Took a couple minutes to go.
And we are off to have breakfast
at Cafe Berry which is in
Marais.
It's so hard to pronounce that neighbourhood's name.
I don't know if it's Marais.
We're going to figure out what we're going to do.
Our train to Switzerland
leaves at 2.20.
2.22 actually.
So we just have to get back to our hotel
around 12.30
to get there in time.
So we have two hours and a half to eat.
Check out maybe one or two
quick spots and then
go to Switzerland.
I'm hungry.
Thanks.
We finished breakfast and now
we are exploring the neighbourhood
a little bit.
Something Pedro and I started doing
this trip. When we start bickering with each other
we just go.
Come here.
Be generous. Be kind.
Be thoughtful.
Be nice.
Sometimes we twirl around too.
Much better.
Can you film me a little bit?
Okay guys.
Big girl purchase of the trip
has been made.
I'm so excited.
We went to Cezanne which is so stunning.
I've been wanting to go to their Soho store
for so long because there's always
a line literally out the door.
So I've always been curious to go in
and everyone talks really well about
their sweaters so
your girl got herself
one. I got a really beautiful navy
sweater and then I also got
a laptop cover that I just
found last minute near the cashier
and I'm excited about it.
I'm very happy. Now we're going back to
our hotel and then we're off to
the train station.
Made it down the train
and now we're off to Switzerland.
Thank you guys so much for watching
our Parisian adventure.
