Alright, so let me get this straight. Actually, no. Whenever I say that, Morgan Freeman needs
to say it. It's cooler when he does.
Let me get this straight.
The Marlins, who just actually made the playoffs last year,
already have to throw in the towel in May after their abysmal start to the season,
trading away Luisa Rice, who has been struggling to start the year, to San Diego.
And what does he do in his first game as a Padre? Four hits and an RBI, obviously.
Meanwhile, the Marlins get Wu-Suk Go, and I can't think of any more perfect way to describe this
Meanwhile, umpire Ryan Blakely clearly didn't get enough hugs from his mother and father as a child,
and he was probably bullied, and he was probably Jeffrey Dahmer's best friend.
That's the only explanation for why anybody would eject Aaron Judge ever,
especially in a moment like this where he's walking away, and Judge himself even said he's
said worse. Congratulations, Ryan Blakely, you're the first ever person to eject Aaron Judge,
and people only hate you more now. I would say the beef between this umpire and the entire state
of New York is now more heated and juicier than Kendrick and Drake's beef, but I just can't.
But it's close. Instead of what this AI photo suggests,
Judge took his anger out on the next baseball he saw the next day for a homer, and for someone
who hasn't started the year off well at all, he needed that. Yankees go on to maul the Tigers
like they did all weekend, sweeping them. The Cardinals had the craziest case of blue
balls on Saturday, threatening to win and walk off in the bottom of the 10th inning,
only for a torrential downpour to start. No worries though, the game kept going for
one more hitter and a pitch on the next one before officially having to delay the game,
and so the game was delayed. For three hours. For three hours, everyone had to stay just to
watch CB Buckner ring Ivan Herrera up on this pitch. Peak cinema. Imagine watching a movie like
Rocky IV or something, and the movie stops with one minute left, and you have to wait three hours
just to see that last minute, only for it to end with Rocky and Drago shaking hands or something
and walking away. The most lame and anticlimactic thing ever. Almost as lame as not subscribing to
this very channel you're watching with your own two eyeballs right now. But definitely not as
lame as Alec Manoa's been over the last year. Alec Manoa finally made his return to the big leagues,
his first start since last August, and he was not good. At all. The struggles continue as he'd blow
a 6-1 lead in DC, getting rocked for 7 runs on 6 hits, walked 4 hitters, he was bad. But considering
just days ago this video of him surfaced the internet, it's pretty clear why he struggled,
he's gotta start working on his pitching, not whatever the hell he's doing in this video.
The Nationals go on to do the most patriotic thing as Canada loses the series in the nation's
capital. America, baby. The A's lost on Sunday, but I don't care, this team has actually been
really good. I almost hate it because I have more hatred for everyone who runs the team more than
Drake and Kendrick do with each other, but good for the players. Screw the outside noise and just
get after it, and that's what they've done. They've been beating the Yankees, the Orioles,
they dropped 20 on the Marlins on Saturday, and yes, it's the Marlins, but shoutout Oakland.
Brent Rooker is going hog wild, Mason Miller continues to be the scariest bullpen arm in
baseball even though he'll eventually go back to starting. Wake me up in October.
We had several sweeps over the weekend. I mentioned the Yankees over Detroit,
but the Rays won a pitching due on Friday, a slugfest on Saturday, and just when the Mets
were about to avoid a sweep, like literally a singular strike away, Randy tells Edwin Diaz to
go shove some trumpets up his ass and ties the game on Singamaya for Mexico, the country he left
Cuba for. Mets retake the lead only to then blow it again because Harrison Bader decided to try and
die for this. The Dodgers whooped the Braves over the weekend, although it didn't seem like it was
going to be uncompetitive on Friday. It was a great game, back and forth, Acuna hit his second
homer of the year, Otani tied it in the 10th, Paje somehow finds grass here, and the Dodgers walk it
off, and the rest was all Dodgers. Max Muncy hits three homers, Otani also hit one, sexgod continued
his awesome start to the season with 10 more strikeouts, then Otani goes deep two more times
on Sunday, with the second homer going 464 feet deep and it was to left center, just not real
stuff. They briefly let Ben Verlander into the Dodger booth during the game on Saturday,
not the best idea. So the Braves keep struggling, meanwhile the Phillies keep killing it,
Trey Turner will be out for a bit, but they just kept on kicking the Giants teeth all weekend long.
Mason Black makes his big league debut on Monday for the Giants,
the Orioles swept the Reds and made the entire thing look easy, and it would have looked even
easier and cooler if the cowards over at the Major League Baseball rules department allowed
for Gunnar Henderson to use this bat in the games. They hate fun, just like Dean Kramer
hates the Soto Shuffle, which is why Soto stared at him after hitting a bomb. Orioles didn't seem to
mind though, considering they won 3 out of 4 in that series. I hope this rivalry becomes an actual
thing, that would be fun, obviously. Cubs and Brewers played a good series, one that the Cubs
won and he didn't pitch over the weekend, but if I didn't talk about Shota Imanaga, I might as well
get thrown into prison. That's a crime, this man just continues to do the damn thing. Dude is just
entering the big leagues, he's 30 years old and he's been insanely dominant. You wanna know what
the biggest adjustment has been for him in the United States compared to Japan? The ability to
turn right on a red light when driving. That's what he's shocked by, nobody in baseball scares
him. Big leagues, schmig leagues, it doesn't matter for Shota, bro is literally Spider-Man,
he does not care. And how about the Bees? It would obviously also be a crime to not at least
mention that. This Bee story just continues to get better and better as it progressed,
so this massive Bees nest gets to a point where the Dodgers D-backs game has to be delayed. A
that lasts 2 hours, they have to evacuate the seats behind home, the beekeeper on call shows
up after being at his kid's t-ball game, ends the situation, becomes the hero for the night,
gets cheered by the crowd, throws out the first pitch, the people in the writers room this MLB
season are cooking, and then you had the Mariners Twitter account reciting the whole Bee movie
script? So you'll just f*** us to death? We'll sure try! Josh Hader has been as disappointing
to the Astros as David Duke finding out his daughter is dating a black man. Mariners win
2 out of 3 in Houston. The Twins were hot, out of absolutely nowhere winning a dozen straight
games, this team still doesn't necessarily look like anything too special, not yet, they're
obviously not a bad team and they changed at least some things with the win streak,
but the rest of their division is actually competitive, at least to begin the year,
which is different. It doesn't help that Buxton's back on the injured list and Correa hasn't been
great, but it was definitely a nice run for them. And I don't want to come across as hating the
Twins that aren't my World Series pick, as competitive as the division is, nobody will
run away with it, so as long as Minnesota doesn't become as much of a disaster as the peaceful
protests held there in the Summer of Love, they should be in this thing. Staying in the division,
how about them Guardians? They won another series over the weekend, this time against the Angels,
who are more depressing than the AIDS pandemic. The Naylor brothers went off, Bowe hit a grand
slam on Saturday, Josh hits a rocket on Sunday, Adolf Hitler died on a Monday. How about Salvador
Perez? Oh my god, he's been insane. He's always been a good, solid player through his whole
career, all with the Royals, which is great and cool too, but he's literally one of the best
hitters in baseball so far this year. The Kansas City offense has been as weak as Iceland's military,
so what Perez and of course Bobby Witt Jr. have done helps a ton, same with all the pitching.
The Rangers did win the series this weekend though, in Kansas City, whooping the Royals on
Saturday as hard as Robin Coleman got whooped in Medea Goes to Jail. Coming up clutch on the
Lord's Day, winning an extra. Speaking of extras, Rowdy Tellez definitely has a lot of extras with
his meals. Pirates come back from another loss on Friday to win the series against the Mighty
Rockies. O'Neal Cruz hit some bombs, which is always a good sight. Nobody wanted to pitch in
Arizona over the weekend, telling the hitters to just knock themselves out and have some fun. So,
they said don't mind if we do, Padres put up a ton of runs the first two games before the D-backs
won in the same fashion to avoid the sweep on Sunday. I hope you enjoyed this week's edition
of Overreactions, thank you for watching, now go touch some grass, bye.
