The Persecution Inside China
Since 1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has brutally persecuted Falun Gong, an ancient Chinese spiritual discipline in the Buddhist tradition. Due to its profound moral principles and proven health benefits, Falun Gong spread rapidly throughout China. By 1999, an official statistic estimated that over 70 million people were practicing Falun Gong—more than the registered members of the CCP.
Threatened by the popularity of Falun Gong and fearing he would lose control over the Chinese people, then-Party chief Jiang Zemin officially launched a persecution on the practice, banning Falun Gong, and arresting thousands of adherents on July 20, 1999. Over the past 21 years, hundreds of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners have been arrested, detained, and subject to various torture methods, such as brainwashing, forced labor, imprisonment, and even forced live organ harvesting.
The communist regime must be brought to justice. The world must stand against the CCP’s violation of basic human rights and call for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong.
