Good morning Vogue, it's Tyler.
Come get ready with me for the Grammys.
I was nominated for Best African Performance.
I didn't believe it, honestly.
Like, it literally didn't feel like it was possible,
especially so soon.
The song wasn't really out for that long before the nomination,
so it felt like I was getting pranked, literally.
Ever since I was small, I dreamt of this type of life
and bringing more attention back home to our culture
and our music and our dancing
and everything that is South African.
So I'm just happy that people are embracing it.
I'm always into creating, I mean, with Tyler,
we're always into creating different new styles,
something we've never really seen before.
So what I'm doing now, I'm just doing twists,
but then I'm probably going to mix it with braids.
And I'm not trying to do something too clean
in terms of the parting.
Like, I'm definitely doing twists,
but I'm just putting some texture, some product into it
so the hair's still quite flat and close to the head.
So it kind of gives a different story
to the old styling, basically,
because I still want something that looks quite effortless,
even though it's still strong.
I always loved Water.
As soon as I finished recording it,
I played it for everybody.
Everybody loved it.
So something that was unique was I had a dream
that the song was going to blow up
before I even dropped the song, which is crazy.
Like, in my dream, I saw Spotify streams
just going million, two million, three million.
And I woke up and I prayed and I said,
God, if that's going to happen, you got me.
And it ended up happening.
So maybe I have superpowers.
For the makeup, we always keep Tyler's skin
really, really fresh.
She doesn't like a full coverage beat.
She's been wearing a fancy grill, too,
so it's something that will marry really nicely
into, like, all the accessories.
And the eyes, we're going to go, like,
a little more ethereal, kind of glowy,
something to go with, like, the dress.
The dress is very, very sparkly.
And it's a standout, for sure.
Manana.
I've really just been enjoying it.
I have such good people around me, so it's been fun.
Like, my best friend travels with me everywhere.
She's right behind you.
I'm not going to turn the camera off.
I love Sky's wits.
Can I at least moisturize my lips before you're on?
You look lovely.
She's my creative director.
She does everything.
But for real, like, good people around me.
So even though it's scary,
I have people to lean on, at least.
So we decided to switch up the makeup a little bit.
Something more sultry
and less color.
The purple was cut.
Yeah, that's a wrap for the purple.
That's a wrap.
I'm excited, yeah.
I know the nerves and everything is going to come
while I'm sitting down.
Because then I'm not going to know
when they're going to start announcing it.
Like, as soon as I hear,
and the best African musical performance goes to...
I'm going to be shaking.
I'm going to be hot.
I'm going to be, I don't know what.
I'm telling you, just before,
that's when I get the most anxious.
So as soon as Louis is done with the last touch,
we're going to go check out the dress.
So come join us.
We started doing specific experimenting with styles
from like 2019, 2018, different looks.
It's green.
We've got a little bit of gym,
like ocean sparkle, you know,
like some cute vibes we have like in the hair.
Seashells in the hair.
So we're just like marrying the idea of the ocean,
nature, like the closest that we could get to organic,
but stunning.
The sage green,
like this mesh with the Swarovski crystals.
It's cute.
She's wearing a gown.
I'm joking, but it's so cute.
I like it.
Peaking.
Don't look for too long.
I'm shining on that carpet.
Come on.
This is the final look.
Look how cute.
It's a moment.
Thank you so much for spending this time with me.
Thank you to my tigers watching and everybody else.
Thank you, Vogue.
Now I'm off to the Grammy's.
So yeah, enjoy your day.
Cause I'm going to enjoy my night.
Okay.
That was my outro.
