The Boston Red Sox, man, not even being the Yellow Sox can save you, not when you're
committing as many errors as hits.
It's the opposite of the Krabby Patty formula, not something that translates to success.
Whatever Reed Detmers did led to success, though.
That dude continues to shove, striking out 7 in 6 1⁄3 shutout innings, by the end
making Fenway Park look like they promoted the local Little League team's game there
that night and only the player's parents showed up to watch.
Although that wouldn't have been inaccurate marketing.
The Braves-Marlins game went just about as you would expect it to.
Imagine a Native American taking a spear and stabbing a Marlin, then cooking and feeding
it to the tribe for dinner.
That's basically what went down in Little Havana.
I love this team's energy, man.
Seeing Marcelo Zuna doing the Euro step with his third base coach after a home run will
always be hilarious.
The Reds crushed the White Sox, and if you haven't realized yet, this has and will continue
being a common theme throughout the Friday Night Games blowouts.
So many teams, virtually half the league decided to show up and just get spanked.
Ellie hit an absolute bomb that went about 450 feet.
Reds put up 11 runs on the south side.
Thankfully nobody got hurt, nobody got shot or mugged on the streets.
But let's move on because talking about dangerous cities is never fun, so let's
go over to Baltimore, where the Brewers also not just opened up a can of whoop-ass, they
opened up a vault of whoop-ass.
Gary Sanchez got his first hit of the season, a shot over the Great Wall of Camden, and
the offense didn't stop there.
Everyone other than two people got hits in Milwaukee's lineup.
Willie Adamas had a night and got three hits, including a homer of his own over the Great
Wall of Camden.
Later getting into a shouting match with Orioles catcher James McCann next time he came up
to bat, but it wasn't about the homer, something Adamas himself said, and when you look back
at the homer, not even the president of the Unwritten Rules Club would find anything bad
about this.
So the best guess is they were arguing over who subscribed to this channel first, but
whether it was McCann or Adamas, you should join them if you haven't already and enjoy
the videos.
The Orioles offense did nothing other than Colton Couser continuing right where he left
off at Fenway, so maybe he doesn't have some grudge against Boston.
The Tigers crushed the Twins, pitching well and making Pablo Lopez look really bad, which
is impressive.
The Rays decided to be like the one team to not blow anyone out, trotting out 17 different
pitchers to hold the Giants down to just one run at the trop.
Winn gets the L and is 0-3 on the year.
His loved ones have to just be appalled at how much he's failing to live up to their
family name.
Cleavage gets the win.
It's pretty clear at this point Angel Hernandez has the craziest blackmail you can imagine
on several higher ups in baseball.
I mean, it's felt that way for years, but yeah, just when you think you've seen it
all, you see this.
Three straight pitches blatantly out of the strike zone called strikes.
There's gotta be all sorts of heinous crimes certain people are guilty of.
It's the only logical explanation at this point for MLB and the umpires union not finding
any way to send him away forever.
This just makes what the Rangers did on offense all the more impressive, though, considering
they did it without an umpire behind the plate calling anything a ball.
So they swung the bats, scored a ton of runs, and Houston did make things interesting in
the end, but not interesting enough.
Someone before the Dodgers-Padres game must have told both teams whoever scores a run
without it coming via a home run gets shot.
That would explain the whole home run derby that took place instead of what was supposed
to be a baseball game.
I just know if you bet the game to begin with 8 home runs collectively from both teams,
you'd be as rich as Ipe stealing all the money he did from Otani.
The Padres ended up winning the game, coming back from 7-3 to take the lead in extras,
and with a tying run at 3rd base in the 11th, Mookie went…
I would use some Blue Jays flying into a Rocky Mountain analogy, but considering the Rockies
were in Toronto, it wouldn't make much sense.
They don't speak French in Colorado like they do Canada, but the Rockies said screw
your French and put up a dozen runs, smacking the Jays.
Speaking of a dozen, Roddy Tellez definitely looks like he ate a dozen donuts before the
game, and unfortunately it didn't help this line drive find grass, but the Pirates otherwise
found plenty of grass to beat the Phillies.
We were robbed of another poop game, with the Phillies changing their logo for the night,
but I think the Pirates would prefer to keep it that way, considering they pitched well
and had imaginary banana peels just spawning under Trey Turner in the middle of plays.
I think Philly fans may need to give him another standing ovation on Saturday.
Speaking of standing ovations, something everyone seems to be getting nowadays, Francisco
Lindor got one from Mets fans because of the fact that he's been struggling to start
the season.
Now, I do like these.
I like the idea of fans supporting and backing their guys instead of, of course, booing them,
but at the same time, they also feel kind of forced and overdone now.
The whole reason Trey Turner's standing ovation from Phillies fans last year became
such a big thing was because it happened in like August, after Turner hadn't been doing
well for months, he then goes off and the rest is history.
Now, after having a bad two weeks in April, Lindor gets a standing O?
This feels corny and forced, but I'd rather that than fans booing their own players, so
whatever.
Whatever it was, it helped the Mets, beating a red-hot Royals team 6-1, Luis Severino walked
as many hitters as people who died during the filming of Hell's Angels, which isn't
ideal, but he was good when not doing that.
I don't know when or how Oakland decided to have the best pitching staff in baseball,
but here we are, going for their second straight 1-0 win before Jesse Winker said nah, and
then Lawrence Butler, who started the scoring back in the 3rd on a homer, said yeah, and
finished the scoring in the 10th with a walk-off base hit.
Bryce Miller was really good for the Mariners, as they beat the Cubs, who didn't do much
of anything offensively.
It got so bad that the Seaman helped them out a bit with a couple errors, very thoughtful
of them to give the Cubs some hope in the loss.
Nolan Arenado hadn't hit a home run since the last Madea movie came out and he was slumping,
but that ended in air zone after he smacked a 3-run bomb in the first.
The Cardinals eventually went up 6-0 before the D-backs had a 6-run 5th inning to tie
it, but the birds saved themselves, adding 3 more runs and locking down the Snakes to
end it.
Football fans are very confused seeing Arizona lose to the Cardinals.
I'll see you tomorrow.
