孟德斯鳩，啟蒙運動重要人物，其著作《論法的精神》影響深遠。他提出的“社會十惡”包括無人性政治、盲目崇拜、非人文科學、無道德商業、無良知知識、偽造歷史、缺乏獨立精神、自由缺失、不勞而獲的富裕、無制約權力。這些惡行阻礙社會進步，孟德斯鳩強調，真正的文明社會應當避免這些惡行，以確保人民福祉和社會的公正發展。
Montesquieu, a key figure of the Enlightenment, profoundly influenced political and legal theory with his work "The Spirit of the Laws." He identified "ten social evils" including inhumane politics, blind worship, unhumanistic science, unethical commerce, conscienceless knowledge, falsified history, lack of independent spirit, absence of freedom, unearned wealth, and unrestrained power. These vices hinder social progress. Montesquieu emphasized that a truly civilized society should avoid these evils to ensure the welfare of the people and the just development of society.
