氦是人类最先在太阳光谱中发现并命名的元素。1868年，法国天文学家皮埃尔·昂利·朱利斯·贾臣观测到太阳光谱中有一种未知亮线，当时不知道这条亮线的来源。1895年，英国化学家拉姆齐和雷利通过精密实验证实，这种新元素存在于地球大气层中，并将它命名为"氦"，源自希腊词"Helios"(太阳)。

Helium was the first element discovered and named by humans in the solar spectrum. In 1868, French astronomer Jules Janssen observed an unknown bright line in the solar spectrum, the origin of which was unknown at the time. In 1895, British chemists Ramsay and Rayleigh confirmed through precise experiments that this new element existed in the Earth’s atmosphere and named it ‘helium,’ derived from the Greek word ‘Helios’ (Sun).

之所以用"氦"来命名这种新发现的元素，就是因为它首次被发现于太阳光谱中。随后科学家们发现，地球大气层中也存在少量氦气。这种存在于地球和宇宙的特殊气态元素，具有非凡的理化性质和应用价值。
